ResumeBuilderFreeEdition itself is easy to use but the description of using their templates is misleading. It walks you through each section in layman’s terms but once you are almost to the end the section of adding your skills will come up with a screen that pops up a price menu to upgrade for a fee but there is an option to “skip” this section and move forward. So then you come to the “finish” section which pops up a boatload of resume templates, all of which you can tap on and view what your resume will look like before downloading. All, and I do mean ALL of the templates require you to purchase before you download and print. There is one exception though; the very first template among the list of other impressive, paid for templates, is free to download and print. That one in itself is not impressive and too busy if you are looking for a simple layout; which is what most employers prefer. And my final thoughts regarding ResumeBuilderFreeEdition , there is no way of deleting your information or any information explaining the steps on how to accomplish the deletion whatsoever.

The process of creating your resumé is seamless through ResumeBuilderFreeEdition. It’s very easy and I was able to add unique things to my resumé which I liked.

I’m rating this as two stars (but I’d really rate it 1) because I find it completely unnecessary to pay $7.99 for only one month of access to it. A one-time purchase of MAYBE $2.99 for what ResumeBuilderFreeEdition actually offers would be reasonable.

On top of this, the templates are terrible. Some of them look kind of sleek, but you can’t even edit where everything is placed. The alignment is off and messed up for many of the documents, and I’d rather just make my own resume on Microsoft Word. There are over a hundred templates, but they all have basically the same layout, and a lot of them don’t even look that professional.

ResumeBuilderFreeEdition is very easy to use, offers suggestions, etc. but, you better proof read several times before finishing and downloading.! Once you download your resume, there is NO way to go back and edit it or change any part of your work experience. It will let you change your name, address, email, phone number, etc, but NOT your work experience. After finding this out, I thought that by buying the PRO, I would be able to edit and use another one of the templates, NOT the case, you can choose one of the many templates, but the resume you’re not happy with just transfers onto the new template. Now I’m out the money and stuck with a resume I’m not proud of. 😞

When I downloaded ResumeBuilderFreeEdition I was charged I believe 6.99$ I can’t remember if it’s a monthly thing or a one time thing and there’s no where in ResumeBuilderFreeEdition where there’s like a home or area about anything other that making the resume builder and it’s causing me so much anxiety because I can’t find out if I’m going to be billed monthly and I truly can’t afford it. Not to mention I’ve had horrible experiences before with downloaded “totally free” apps and come to find out they were charging my card all this money and im afraid it’s going to happen again since I can’t get any answers from ResumeBuilderFreeEdition or searching online. Why is there no area to cancel or do something with your app especially since it wasn’t free, and most people can’t remember the charges of every single app etc… however ResumeBuilderFreeEdition is truly AMAZING … I love my resumes ….. I guess before I download apps I need to keep a log somewhere of how they charge even though on OTHER apps I have been very mislead. And I truly don’t have the money so im a wreck because there is no possible way to find out was that a one time fee and it doesn’t match the monthly prices is days they bill on the online website unless there’s more than one resume builder pro name company…… please help and if I am going to be charged ResumeBuilderFreeEdition needs to be ca cancelled.

I’m giving this 3 stars because there’s good and not good things about it. So let’s start with the good things a couple good things are it’s really simple to fill out, and they give you a good amount of information to fill out compared to other resume or apps. I do like the simplicity. However the bad is what made me decide not to go through with it and just with my personal preference and my career path in dance and modeling I need a photo attached to my resume. Also they only give you 1 free template to use while the rest you pay. I’m sure there’s many people who don’t mind that nor the photo part. Conclusion- There are PLENTY of other resume apps that definitely top this one in my opinion. I suppose it’s all just personal preference.

What I mean by misleading perception is that it seems like this is one of the best apps out there for Resume building based on the rating score and the amount of downloads compared to other apps but ResumeBuilderFreeEdition is quite tame with features for an application that you have to pay for.

I’ve had more options in free resume builders online with more customization. For an application that you have to pay for, you’d think it be much better. It isn’t.

One major gripe I have with this one specifically though is that you can’t make minor edits to the text or margins. This is a problem when you want to download as PDF and send to an employer when the Resume looks strange because of the formatting (for example, the date of a previous entity being printed on the second page rather than squeezing it into the first page so that it looks more aesthetically pleasing).

For a quick and dirty solution—which is what I needed it for—I’d recommend it. I worked around the various issues. If you want something that’s actually good and customizable, find something else.

I think there should be at least two templates to choose from in the "free" version. I'd like to compare Aesthetics before committing to a service that I won't be using constantly. Once you create your resume, you make a few tweaks and send. It's not like you're going to overhaul it every day with a new "template." Offering two choices is just common sense when you're showcasing your product. Also, more info upfront before you go through the grind of inputting job experience for the gazillionth time. To make this a viable service, there should be a function for importing a resume, or your LinkedIn profile work history. Typing that over and over is the most annoying aspect I'd the process and while ResumeBuilderFreeEdition was lean and simple (thus not annoying), a more dynamic interface for showcasing your talents would set it apart. I'm writing this before seeing the final product so this review is based on the process of creating the document only. The elevator pitch section could use some effective examples as the statements provided are basically HR gobbletygook. I'm just looking for the best way to grab attention to set up a meeting. I doubt this will be the panacea.

This was a great app to rework/update my resume. But if you are starting from scratch I would have struggled. Erasing words within a middle of a sentence is difficult. You cannot highlight or drag with your space bar within the iPad. If you incorporate the functionality that iPad gives on a keyboard this would be better. Also when you print out the document the font looks huge, not sure if that was my printer or what but looks weird.

Nice app, but a few annoying flaws keep it from being great:

-Text editing for the job description is a pain.
-Only way to purchase is as a subscription
-No way to save and and edit different versions of resumes. It would be very helpful if i could save different versions that are targeted to the different jobs I am applying to. It can be helpful to highlight different aspects of my experience based on what the employer is most interested in. this is something I would pay to upgrade for.

I really like the simplicity of this, would be even better if there were more examples to use related specifically to the job someone was looking for, or even a way to save descriptions to use interchangeably. Like: if looking for a few different types of positions or in different categories, it would be nice to house examples like the current example cards in a bank of some sort, to be retrieved at the end of the card slider via some sort of list, or even a dropdown menu.

I highly recommend ResumeBuilderFreeEdition if you are looking to update your resume and have it look professional. It gives you step by step instructions so you don’t get overwhelmed. It also gives you a list of other options you can add to your resume so you don’t feel as if you forgot anything.

I highly recommend getting ResumeBuilderFreeEdition! It has made my resume process so easy! It took me about 30 to 45 min to do, being that I am a perfectionist. It feels like you are applying for a job, but you end up with a PERFECT resume. Thank you to the creators of this natural and intelligent app! This is my first time using resume builder app. I needed a professional resume quickly but I didn’t have the time to create one on my own. ResumeBuilderFreeEdition is user friendly making it very easy to use since I basically had only to fill in my information. I do recommend ResumeBuilderFreeEdition to anyone who needs a professional resume and don’t have a lot of time to create one.

Resumes seem to be the hardest way to sell yourself but with the help, layouts, and accessibility of ResumeBuilderFreeEdition, a professional resume is within reach. The amount of helpful information you get for free is unmatched. There’s not much filler info but everything is adequately explained and you’re provided with a multitude of examples every step of the way. You guys came in clutch as the pandemic started having employers laying of employees during the omicron variance stage of COVID - second shelter in place restrictions… it became very difficult to find employment the resume builder helped me by guiding me through a step process to rebuild a solid resume for employment.I can’t thank you guys enough or tell the world how grateful I am for my new job. I always have hated having to make a new resume but with ResumeBuilderFreeEdition, it actually made it fun AND it has helpful tips throughout the process so I made a great looking new resume within FIVE minutes! They also have great templates to liven up your resume and make it look nice and professional as apposed to the typical bland resumes that I’ve seen before. I finished my resume and saved it right to my “Files” app on my iPhone. I love that you can get all of this done on your phone, save it to your phone and even send the resumes from your phone!

ResumeBuilderFreeEdition really helps with the daunting task of creating a new resume or updating the one you already have. I haven’t had one in 10+ years and it gave me anxiety even thinking about starting one. Given the old way of just a laptop and a blank spreadsheet. But this really took the complicated process of starting from scratch and made the whole thing painless...Good Job Creators!! My only recommendation is to have at-least two options that are free rather than one. Maybe two drastically different options. But either way. I’ll take the one given and run with it. May upgrade at a later date.

Was nervous about updating my resume being that I hadn’t needed to do so in awhile but ResumeBuilderFreeEdition made it very easy and took the hesitation away! I paid for the premium templates which in my opinion was well worth the $12 bucks, which is a very small investment in getting the job you want verses not getting it. I truly am satisfied with ResumeBuilderFreeEdition and if you are struggling with updating or even creating your first resume then this is ResumeBuilderFreeEdition for you!!!😉

Quick and easy to use - But, spell check wouldn’t work on some words on the resume for some reason - I got away with spelling “assisted” incorrectly and spell check didn’t catch it before sending out my application - Then again I should have proof read better I guess Lol

This is the first resume builder I have found that is easy to use and actually free (the best part). I would highly recommend ResumeBuilderFreeEdition to anyone who wants to have a nice resume that’s easy to use, especially on their phone.

Really easy and straight forward. Yeah there is a cost for the premium downloads features but it’s only like $5 and that’s well worth having a clean looking resume for getting your name out there for your future career!

I used this just for a basic job while still in high school. Works great and is easy. Wouldn’t use for a professional job though. There are better apps for making it professional. Just I believe this is the easiest fastest app.

It’s basic but it’s free so it got the job done for me! If you wanna be fancy you can use the in app purchases but for me the one they offer for free got the job done. If you need to make a quick resume showing only your school and job history this is perfect.

Easy to use, free simple resume or options to buy unlimited resume templates with more sections at a fair price. You can download your resume to your phone as a PDF so it makes creating a resume without a computer convenient and user-friendly. I highly recommend.

I have plenty of experience writing and editing resumes but when it comes to doing it myself, I have a major case of writer’s block. It’s like that Spongebob episode when he spends an entire night trying to write an essay and he only gets the first word in the page.

Some stuff needs to be bought, but for what they offer for free, it’s not that bad. Wish I could free edit and add certain stuff but other than that it’s not that bad. A headshot feature would be nice too.
