About Navi
Navi generates subtitles locally on device and transmits them over the secure SharePlay connection to the other people on the call.

The app opens FaceTime up to people with hearing impairments and other disabilities that prevent them from engaging easily in video calls.
With Navi you can translate what other people on a call are saying in realtime.
At launch Live Translation supports over 20 languages, with more being added every update.
To use the Live Translation feature you need Translation Tokens which you can purchase in the app.

Good idea
The interface is a little weird as it only shows one line of text at a time and only picks up my voice instead of the other person who I’m FaceTiming with. Which is why I wanted Navi to be able to see what the other person is saying. Maybe add more of a better subtitle format and make it so my voice isn’t picked up only the recipients voice.

Fantastic!
Just got Navi and love it! Helps my mom when mirrored on the tv. And my sister can turn the volume down.
The call devolved into fits of laughter every time more than one person talked. Some of the stuff that came on the screen was hilarious!!
I would like it if the side that doesn’t need it can just have the full size video. But it’s not bad. Just a thought.

Extremely happy with Navi
My dad has been isolated in a hospital where he lost his hearing. This is finally a solution for us so we can have real conversation with him. THANK YOU this app.

Poor explanation of how to use
Could not get captions, but they we’re on the receivers side. Which defeats the purpose since I’m the deaf one.

Can’t select speech recognition
UPDATE! This is a great app. The update fixed the problem. Thanks devs!
UPDATE! The developer reached out and was unaware of the problem. He submitted an update but also suggested I reduce my text size. I can’t do that because I need the larger text. Hopefully the update will fix that. I think this is a great idea but there is a black bar over the option to allow speech recognition. I can’t go any farther into Navi for any settings etc.vs!
