App crashes constantly on iPhone

I’ve been a this app user for two years and was very excited when TTMIK first released because I thought it would give me the opportunity to review book audio on the go. I installed TTMIK and found it crashed within 30-40 seconds any time the phone screen was locked. New app, okay, development is hard. I downloaded TTMIK again today, six months later, figuring that would be plenty of time to fix it, but no, the issue is completely unresolved. In its current form TTMIK is unusable on the apple iPhone. The last update was three months ago, and I’ve lost hope the developers will fix the issue. This is not the only review that complains of this problem, and in several of those this app responded saying they were aware of the issue and it would be addressed soon. this app, what gives? Your books are fantastic and the audio is too, but TTMIK is sadly garbage.

App keeps crashing

Even after re-install. I wanted to use TTMIK. Very frustrating. When it stops you have go through a bunch of steps just to locate the book you were using, incredibly, through an ad splash page. I paid for premium this app, I bought these books, and you’re pumping me with ads when you should be getting me back to where I as studying in the book. this app May be the best of all Korean teaching programs but this key tool, as others have noted, does not work. Other programs like LETS SPEAK KOREAN get the audio tech right and also without hammering you with ads every move you make. I hope you fix this but it’s been non-functioning since you put it up.

The books are incredible, the app doesn't work

If TTMIK worked as intended it would be a great resource to the amazingly well structured curriculum in the books. The books were written by a master teacher in a well structured course of study. TTMIK , however, doest work at all. It immediately tells you its unstable, and if you push through nothing works... as it said. Having to download audio files for the aural part of the books instead of using TTMIK is a really poor solution, and severely hinders learning using the books. Please get a developer that can fix or rebuild TTMIK so it actually works and you'd have an amazing course of study.

Nice concept but full of bugs

I hate to give anything by this wonderful company a low rating . However, TTMIK is well below the quality they usually offer. It crashes all the time and you have to constantly restart it and find the book again and hit play of the track then one or two tracks later it’s back to it again. Also, no way to save the books you want. Very slow and annoying to use. I uninstalled it.

Less useful if you bought the ebooks

TTMIK is useful but I bought a bunch of their eBooks and there is no way to add them to “my books” because I don’t have a barcode to scan. It makes using TTMIK much less convenient because I have to search for the books each time (and this makes no sense to me because it is not as though any of the audio is behind a paywall anyway.) So great if you bought the physical book, but less convenient if you got ebooks.

App won’t let me sign in

I love this app so much. It’s become my favorite resource for learning Korean. The times I’ve actually been able to use TTMIK (which has amounted to only a few times), I’ve enjoyed it. I really love how I can save the books I actually have so I don’t have to scroll through all of them to find them. However, most of the time it won’t let me log in to use it. I continuously get error messages, even after I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I’ve double and triple checked my log in information, as well. It’s so frustrating, because on the website I have to scroll through all of the books to find the one I am looking for. That’s the only reason I’m giving this a rating of 2. No point in having an app downloaded if I can’t use it, right?

Frustrating

I love the program and content but I keep getting log-in failures on TTMIK . No matter what I try: deleting and reinstalling TTMIK , and multiple password change attempts. Also, now they are changing the website and will remove access to the podcast that go along with the books I spent $200 on if you don’t continue to pay a monthly subscription. There is only pronunciation audio files for the text and workbooks. I hope I’m mistaken about this. Still, I’ve been waiting 5 days for them to fix the problem with TTMIK login. I don’t always have access to a computer.

Needs improvement

TTMIK crashes all the time. I have already reached out directly to the creators and they told me to update. That was a long time ago. After all updates, it is still a major issue.

Also, TTMIK should remember where you left off or show your recently listened to files.

Conceptually Great App

This is a great app in concept and design, but virtually useless because it can hardly go 2 minutes without crashing. I want enjoy TTMIK and use it everyday, but I’ll end up spending most of my time reopening TTMIK and finding getting back to where I was, rinse and repeat. TTMIK is such a terrific idea. Please fix the bugs🙏 Then it would be perfect.

Love the idea but execution is missing

I love the idea of TTMIK but I get frustrated that it doesn’t seem to be able to play on the background or when my screen goes dark. I want to be able to listen on walks but this makes it nearly impossible. I would also love to be able to make mini playlists so I can focus on sections I’m studying

Needs Bug Fixes

Love that TTMIK exists, it’s much nicer than having to download audio clips, and you can scan and keep all your books on a shelf for easy access to audio.

But it crashes…a lot. Today I had to restart every minute or so, and try and guess where I left off in the clip each time. Hopefully all the kinks get worked out someday!

App crashes when screen turns off

Every time I let some audio loop, the moment the screen turns off, TTMIK crashes and I have to sign in again. It seems this issue was mentioned in a review from a year ago, but no fix has been made. I really wish this could be solved. Fortunately this app makes the audio downloadable on their site.

Excellent App - Just needs some bugs fixed

TTMIK itself is fantastic. It is very easy to scan my books and get the audio files that go with them. The books only need to be scanned once and I can easily get to the files.

However, there is a somewhat major issue with crashes. Any file over about a minute long ends up crashing them app. I have tried on both the iPhone and the iPad and I’m having the same problem. For short files, it is not an issue, but it is pretty much unusable whenever I have a longer audio file that I need to listen to.

Great app but crashes

I love TTMIK & the convenience of being able to have the audio tracks for each one of my purchases book. I also really like that I can simply scan my books, and they’ll automatically show in my library. That’s a great feature. TTMIK would be perfect except it crashes often. I’ve already had to reinstall it 3xs. That’s my only issue. Otherwise, TTMIK is wonderful.

Is a great application when it’s not broken

I used to use this application all the time but in the last few months it hasn’t properly launched. I’ll go back to the website but TTMIK made things a lot more convenient.

App keeps crashing

First off, I want to say that I love the idea of TTMIK. It’s very handy to be able to listen to the audio for all of the this app books that I have in one place without having to download a bunch of files.

However, TTMIK crashes on me all the time. I will be listening to a story or conversation, and suddenly it will stop playing. I have to reopen TTMIK and manually go back to the book and audio file that I was listening to (it doesn’t remember to pick up where it left off), which is very frustrating. It happens frequently (twice in less than 15 minutes just now, which is why I’m writing this review) and honestly is quite annoying.

I think this is a great idea, but it seems like the this app team needs to smooth out a few bugs to improve the user experience.

Finally a TTMIK app!

I don’t see the audio for the lessons themselves? Hopefully that will be coming. It does have all the supplementary audio for the books I think. I’m happy they finally have their own app and I’ll look forward to more features. Also it’s really hard to find in TTMIK Store, it doesn’t come up “Talk To Me In Korean” or “this app”

Much improved

I was going to write a “why don’t they update this?” review for the old app, when I found this new one. Great improvement, and now I don’t have to fumble around with saving the audio tracks to Apple Music.

I second the confusion, however, over the missing lessons! Why aren’t the SoundCloud lesson tracks themselves available in TTMIK ? It supports this app logins, so it should be capable of restricting access to subscribers as needed. Even if it’s “internet connection required” to save space, it would be an improvement over having to return to the website to load the lessons.

Fantastic, except…

If the purpose of TTMIK is just to provide audio for the books, it’s great. I’d love TTMIK (or even a second app) to be able to do more, though. For example, it would be great if the lessons, including the audio, were available on TTMIK , too!

so helpful as always i love this app so much

the existence of TTMIK has made me so happy. i had downloaded the book audios for the books i have but the way the zip folders were labeled was kind of confusing and i could only play them on my laptop. this has everything organized so nicely and i can play things through my phone. just perfect. this app 감사합니다 사랑합니다 🥰
