SBL Groove Trainer Reviews

Much like everything that SBL does this is top notch. It’s also free… SBL gives so much to the bass community and this is another example. I would have definitely purchased SBLGrooveTrainer and was surprised when I didn’t have to. All of my students now have this. I have put it on my iPad and phone for easy access to warm-ups and away from home practice when out on tour. Thank you Scott and the whole crew.

Get it? BEATS all others. Ha! It does it all as a preprogrammed drum machine. In fact, I bought a drum machine 3 months ago for a lot of money. If SBLGrooveTrainer was available then, I would not have needed it.
It’s no fun playing /practicing with the click,clack of a typical metronome. This is truly a must have for your music practice.

These guys thought of everything. Goodbye other metronome app, goodbye other tuner app, hello groove trainer.

The only thing I can even think of that would take SBLGrooveTrainer from A+ to A++ would be to have a few jazz standards/walking bass line lead sheets as a part of it.

It has every possible feature I could need. Yes, at times it is a bit glitchy, but that does not stop SBLGrooveTrainer from being amazing!

I really dig this metronome app (especially since my Quartz one died!). The training and loop functions are amazing.

My one big critique is: if your phone locks while you’re in the zone, there’s no access to the Groove Trainer on the Lock Screen. Scott, please add! (Also your lessons are amazing)

This things is great! Takes a bass tuner, metronome, and drum loop app and puts them into one nice package. Looking forward to trying out the practice/trainer functions. The beat selection is nice too; varied enough to not get bored, but not overwhelming.

Thank you SBL for a fantastic Practice app! The drum tracks are soooo much better than grooving to my metronome- and having everything (tuner, metronome, drum tracks and podcasts) under one app really helps to make usability simple.

SBLGrooveTrainer is one of my go to tools for practice. Been a long time fan of the desktop version and super happy to have it on my phone.

Like another reviewer said “a must have for bass players” I have been using the drum beat tab on this to practice and I frigging love it!! EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for to use “in the shed”. Thanks Scott and the team at SBL. You guys Rock!!

I’m not a bass player, but the metronome and tuner features still help my guitar practice, as well as the drum loops feature, which I haven’t seen in other metronome apps. Very cool!

Really fun app to jam with! If you’ve purchased SBLGrooveTrainer , can you legally use the drum loops as samples in your own recordings without paying royalties?

I don’t have to make drum loops in garage band when I give lessons now! More than enough options in SBLGrooveTrainer!

OMG! Something that breaks the mold from studying books, listening to you tube, or rote memory practice. Just something at my finger tips for any practice, bass or guitar!

I’ve been in SBL for 8 months and my playing ha so proved exponentially! This tool helps as you can blue tooth it to your system. Practice made easier and FUN!

A tuner, metronome and a podcast player all in one what more could a musician ask for, especially if you play bass.

The metronome and drum machine allows you to practice on developing your internal time keeper. Excellent app for anyone looking to improve timing or just practicing to a metronome or neat.
