We got dressed up for the Grand Opening of this place last night and really looked forward to seeing this brand-new property. Several others did as well, so there were women dressed to impress there in high heels and expecting to go in and have fun inside the casino, like other casinos along the strip.
We parked in the self-parking area, where were directed to park, came out, and were directed to a location outside of the Building, to watch the fireworks events until 11:00 p.m. when it opened.
It was a great show, but what happened after that was rude, a complete turn off and the reason I will never probably go there again.
We were cattle-herded from near the back of the building, on the opposite side of the resort to the front entrance, being herded down Las Vegas Boulevard, past the Encore in a crowd that was pushing forward as if they wouldn't be allowed in. The property was fenced off, clearly not landscaped or ready to entertain and when we stopped to ask if we were going in the right direction we were told we couldn't enter the doors where we parked because the VIPs were there. So, instead of having the VIPs gathered in one area and treating their other guests in a welcoming manner, they cattle-herded thousands of people. Then, we were pushed up near a fence where we listened to some drumming, red paper flying in the air, and left to sweat in the heat.
I guess the casino opened its doors but the crowd in the front door was so ridiculous, poorly managed, and after having some creep push his front up against my rear end twice we chose not to bother with the place, thinking we'd probably be treated as rudely if we went in to blow our money, gambling.
Instead, since we were right across the street, we went to the Encore and it was incredible. We've decided that because that is how they treat the guests they invite for opening night, we probably will never use that property. Had I known I couldn't go inside the property and would be hiking Las Vegas Boulevard in the heat at 11:00 p.m., I would have stayed home.
