Tools for Procreate Reviews

This just so happens to be a day just like many before it that I must admit to the fact that I was 100% wrong. this app is a must have for anyone that regularly uses or even simply occasionally plays with Procreate. It just so happens to be one of the very few apps that actually does what it says when it comes to free brushes which there are tons of. As for most apps geared towards Procreate it does seek to sell a wide variety of styles at bargain prices. But those who download it seeking the free brushes that are promised Will be more thanExcited to see the best amount of free brushes available

So a subscription service for procreate brushes already a bad start. I’m a person obsessed with brushes having myself over 3000 bought in a span of 2 years, but never would I pay money every week for them. So then how are the brushes? Well they feel like glorified airbrush this app. The brushes lack any texture and feel like free brushes or cheaply produced ones. I could go to an actual website and buy brushes for higher quality for like three dollars. The idea is a cool concept try out new brushes every week, but the quality is so bad that you’d be better off using procreates default brushes, or even better go out and buy quality brushes for less.

The only reason why I give this 5 stars is so you see this I would give Tools a 3 out of 10, most of the brushes and stamps you have to buy premium for, only some are free, not all of the brushes I download did not show up in procreate, like I get that you need money, but I don’t want to BUY PREMIUM like I just don’t want to spend my money, honestly I would not recommend endless you want to spend your money on stuff then go ahead.

I purchased Tools for three months it was 1499+ tax so it came out to A little over $15 with tax. After paying for three months of premium one would believe that you would have access to premium features eligible to download them without being sent back to a purchase page. So I paid a little over $15 to not have access to any of the premium features I’ve also emailed the developers using the yahoo email address provided on Tools for support two times now and no one has responded to me so I’m leaving this review in hopes that other people will not fall victim to what I obviously have don’t buy Tools.

I feel like every brush that looks good or that I need is premium. You should at least make premium less expensive and not a subscription ,like maybe 10 dollars for life but god it has to be like 30 bucks for 3 months! Also there should be a search thing because all I am seeing is the same brushes every time I go on Tools ! I’m trying to find brushes for rendering but I can’t find any because I can’t search on it. Please at least add a search button.

I was excited to find this, I also have procreate. Everything downloads alright but it won’t install. I read the instructions but I don’t know what I m doing wrong.

Out of the ones I tried they weren’t that great tbh
When I was trying to download some of the brushes a premium thing kept popping up
The only one that I’m probably going to use going forward was already in Tools , it was just edited (I edited the brush to my liking, I disliked it before)
Then again I did not look at all the brushes.
When trying the brushes if you don’t like them just tamper with them for a bit cause you may find a brush that you want to use.

$9.99 per month is a crazy amount to pay for such a limited number of brushes. It’s a great idea if there were thousands to choose from rather than 10 brushes. Not every brush out of those are even brushes some may be interested in. We all have different interests and purposes with our artwork. How would we know that a decent amount of new brushes would even be available every month? It would be a lot smarter to start out with everything free to gain more interest. There are bug fixes needed as well.

Everything is premium except the hair but I want to use things that aren’t premium because I don’t wanna spend all my money on this so make less things premium please if I don’t get a response or if it doesn’t get fixed within a week I will delete Tools and tell all my friends not to buy it and I might even post public postsNot to get it because it’s a rip off otherwise everything was good except no premium

I got Tools exited to try new brushes and stamps to creat fun and different art, I buy the premium and I can’t even get the install button to work after downloading?? I have the full version of procreate and not the pocket addition so I’m not sure if that would change anything but I’m super disappointed. I gave it a two star rating because it looked like it would have been promising if it had worked and two I at least got Tools to open.

Tools is so amazing! I have been using procreate for years and I wish I would have discovered an app like this long ago. I have spent so much money on brushes and the amount of brushes you get with Tools pays for itself with the first few downloads. So happy I gave it a chance.

I love all the brushes, but paying for them is kinda dumb. Donations maybe through your insta could work if you need the money, but also people might not be allowed to have social media, so having to follow just to get brushes is also really dumb. I recommend for the free brushes, but get another app if you want more. You have to pay so much much more here than other apps for brush Addons

If I could give this no stars at all I would. I hated this. It had some ok brushes for free but all the others costed money. I understand that you all have to make money but not all of us are rich and willing to pay for these things. 😐 I’m seeking more brushes to try and better my art, so I will be looking for different, BETTER, apps.

This is an amazing app! It’s so easy to use and has so much options! The only thing I dislike is that the majority of the options are not free and I can’t use them. But it’s not the apps fault I’m broke:)

Whoever wanted to try this game I’m gonna say that this game will give so many people out there who loves art ideas what to draw

There are some free brushes which i really like! Also premium are on completely another level compared to the other ones.

I think Tools is great. Even though I didn’t pay for it I still got tones of new brushes. Although I wish more were free I am pleased with the ones that were.

So much stuff but without paying premium it takes soooo long but other than that it’s perfect ☺️

Tools needs to be a one time purchase. $40 bucks a year is ridiculous. Just download the free ones. The subscription price is just too high to justify paying for it. It needs to be a one time purchase of like $20-$25 bucks. Thats reasonable. $40 bucks every year is ridiculous.

This ad isn’t really helping doesn’t really tell me what to do and there’s a video but it’s not telling me what to do

In concept, packaging a set of templates and this app to help the spectrum of diverse Procreate users work more efficiently is great. Unfortunately, everything offered is underdeveloped and overly narrow. Unsaid is that Tools is targeting amateur female fashion design and so what’s offered is of limited appeal to just about anybody else. Wanting to be thought of as more than this extremely restrictive niche community, Tools suggests it can do everything. But it barely does anything. There is a category called "Interior design" with a whole section for "sofas." "Sofas" offers you one, ONE sofa in a handful of different colors. Everywhere this underdevelopment, is repeated. Nothing else. 99% of the people illustrated in Tools are female except for fashion where this is not a single male reference. Again, all fine if this is marketed to 12 year old girls but to describe this as a set of this app for the broad range of Procreate users is delusional. AI Art and sound this app are included but feel duct-taped on to something that started as something else. And really, why make AI art creation part of an app geared towards people who take immense pride creating their *own* art? Tools is a poorly executed version of an idea that has great potential with maybe 5% of what it could be getting realized in this incarnation. Hard pass. I canceled my free trial 2 hours after downloading Tools .

I still rated 5/5 stars because I do use Tools often and I use the brushes consistently as I make stickers as a side job. However I recently upgraded my iPad and the subscription did not carry over to my new device. BUT it is still active on my apple account and I paid the yearly in full… I am very sad I cannot seem to get this resolved as there is no option for restore purchases in Tools nor in Tools Store as those are the typical steps to getting this type of thing fixed. However, overall Tools works well and the brushes offered of are great quality. Hope my situation sorts itself out soon, would love to have my access back.

It’s a great app I love it it really does give you brushes and this app that are really helpful! But I really struggle with hair a lot and there were no hairs I could get because I am unable to bet premium so if they could make more free brushes like hair, etc. that would bump them up to a five star from me and a lot of others probably and why is there no search bar??? But that’s my only complaint right now thanks for reading!!!

I downloaded this under the impression it was included in the purchase of Tools . I quickly realized it was not for me. I tried to cancel within a few minutes, and my request was denied. I tried one more time with a deeper explanation, along with the offer of screenshots, and again it was denied.
I went back to Tools to give it another shot since I’m stuck with it, and right there in big letters SUPSCRIPTION CANCELLED. I thought some one fixed this finally. Oh no, there is no credit on the card nor can Iog in.
So, Procreate charged me $40 for an app that serves me no purpose, but canceled my subscription without refunding my money. Isn’t that stealing.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Tools because it gets you started on digital drawing, but $60 a year for brushes? That seems a little pricey. And what about kids that aren’t allowed to have instagram? They just have to suffer? I think you should make more things free. Also, with the pack download, if the whole pack is free why don’t you just make it free to download all at once? Tools is really useful if you have premium or instagram, but other than that it isn’t. There needs to be more free items.

I got procreate two years ago. And I am in love but with procreate. Everybody at some time we may want/need new brushes . Almost every app/website I’ve tried using for brushes has never worked. But when I saw Tools I was so excited! And I loved it but… the main brushes I have been looking for Tools did not have . I was really hoping to find some hair brushes and some braids but I only found one hair brush. Overall GREAT! 😍

I’ve been using Tools for around a year now, and at first, it was a awesome, super helpful app with brushes and stamps that seem to have a lot of effort it them, and Tools was organized and neat. But for the past few months, they’ve added all of the extra things- AI sound, AI creators, and all the new brushes have dipped in quality. All similar, and without the old unique names. I sounds stupid, but I miss the old version. Thank you anyways for Tools , I’m sure a lot of effort was put into making it. Have a great day.

This would be a great app ….. if it only worked! There are tons of brushes,stamps,3D models, even soundscape - I’ve used many, some better than others, but really good. If procreate (the digital art app)would just work, these brushes would be EXCELLENT! The AI generated brushes are not good however. Very, very dissapointed in Tools , I spend most of my time uninstalling, reinstalling, and begging Tools to work. I’m quickly losing patients and interest.. there’s plenty of apps to choose from that’s for sure!

This is a great way to get the creative juices flowing especially if you are a brush maker or want to be. There’s also tons of assets for scrapbooking, or collage creation. I would recommend whaiting a day or so for them to. Send you a 56% off yearly discount and then purchase that, definitely the best option!

I have the premium membership and it seems like the brushes are the same as they were when i became a premium member early 2023. I look at other procreate apps and they release new brushes weekly and i think i have seen maybe 2 or 3 new ones since i became premium member at the beginning of the year. I’m thinking of cancelling or not renewing my premium account and switching to one that actually add new brushes weekly.

I’m sorry but your stuff all costs money and it’s too much money to be paid. Some of the tours are very nice but there is a lot of stuff that cost money and it is too expensive so I don’t wanna pay for it. I thought it was a free drawing app to help me learn better, but I guess it wasn’t so when I found out it cost money I decided I was gonna delete it but if you guys other people that use Tools paid for and wanna pay for it is a lot of money to be paid, but other than that this is a great app.

I understand that Tools is very easy , and you can download procreate brushes to your heart’s content, but I have a lot of pop ups whenever I try to download brushes, saying get premium for full, first off there needs to be a “DONT remind me again” if there is my fault, sorry . But anyways when I click to download the brushes finally most of them are where you have to follow this company on instagram , and the others are premium. I could only get like .. 6 or a little more brushes, and also I literally never write reviews, I’ve probably wrote reviews like twice before. But this was just something I had to say.

So Tools is amazing there are a lot of this app and brushes for procreate. I love Tools and would give it a 5 star rating but…I really need brushes for hair and since I don’t have premium I can’t get the hair brushes I need. I like Tools I really do but a lot of times i need hair brushes and don’t have any so if you can please make more hair brushes that are free that would really help. Thank you for all of the great brushes and stuff I hope you can make more hair brushes that are free because that would help a lot of people and I know it. 😊 thank you 😊

Tools has procreate brush sets, tutorials, color palettes all in one app which I’m surprised I haven’t seen before! There’s a million apps for brushes, colors, etc, but having it all in one place is a game changer! Really looking forward to seeing Tools grow and where it heads soon.

Pro:
- app has unpaid version that lets you watch some free tutorials, download brushes from packs and most importantly- actually test drive Tools before you buy!! (Honestly I can’t remember the last time an app didn’t require me to pay for premium before seeing it at all)

Con:
- the only real con I have is I wish there were more art pieces and descriptions attached to the brush sets so I can really get a good idea of what they can do for me. I’d also like to be able to touch the picture of the brush and be able to see it in a larger image, hard to tell what they look like in a small photo.

Tools definitely is not for free users. I understand a company needs to make money, but do you really need to pop up a whole page telling you to subscribe every time i want to look at a brush set? This isn’t even an exaggeration. This one choice makes Tools a nightmare to navigate. It also becomes a pain because it goes all the way to the top when i exit a brush pack, so i have to scroll all the way back down to get back to where i was. This is definitely is not browsing friendly. It is not worth it for the free brushes they do offer. A lot of them are also locked behind following to their instagram? It just seems like a stretch to me. Sure it isn’t much, but still feels iffy that it tells me i have to follow them on insta to access a free brush.

Brushes for procreate is a much more user friendly experience with a lot of free brushes to download that don’t require an insta follow. If you want to use a free app, skip this one and use something else. Or just look for brushes online. Some of my favorites were from Gumroad or other sites where people can share their brushes.

I downloaded Tools to be able to get brushes. Not an ad that tells me to spend 10 dollars on a subscription. Not even joking nor exaggerating that when I opened Tools was asked to subscribe. Almost all bushes you have to be premium to get if not all in some packs. Tools I use to create pictures gave me a warning saying that the file (brush) was damaged and not to use it as it was not safe to use. Do not waste your time on this. All you will get is disappointment, ads 24/7, an unsafe file, and something that for being ‘free’ isn’t free. I understand needing to make money but being constantly bombarded by ads isn’t a good idea to make money from. For a game meant to be free it is quite the opposite. Save yourself the time and disappointment for something worth your time. This is NOT worth it. I did not listen to the bad review.
