Onan Cummins is still stuck in the 80’s thinking they are the god of all. Nope. This product is a scam! Look at Victron Cerbo GX. You get real data and control and historical analytics plus true remote/cloud control. This product only reads in 33% increments on the SOC side. Seriously, even your gas gauge is more granular. I hope this product is recalled. It’s created serious safety hazards. It’s auto start turn the generator on even at 100% soc. It is a gamble if you will get accurate reads in the voltage side. Generator hours after numerous factory resets never shows. Maybe 50% of the time after reset you get a voltage reading. It’s sad that the included temp sensor lets you see the battery volts, yet it’s not possibly on the generator house or starter, only very questionable reads at 33% block that never shows accurately to all the other SOC readings outside their crap hardware. Flagship product. Most certainly not. Creating the next titanic, 💯!!! No gold function for remote checking on your system, also absent. The fact they didn’t implement an basic iOT cellular or WiFi option let alone canbus shows how removed from basic industry standard their engineers must be. Can’t wait for the recall and class action. I think I’ll head the start of that.

Update- apparently this is fixed (FINALLY). This could really use a upper and lower temperature to all the generator to cool down a bit before shutting off. When cycling with the temperature setting, for long periods, the generator tends to start hard as a result of a hot shutdown.

The app is the only way to “talk” to the EGS system. While the hardware is very robust and simple to install, the app is clunky at best. It seems that if you log back into the app, while the generator is set to “Auto” it will only allow the generator to turn on once and run for 15 minutes. Then it turns off all automatic functions but leaves the generator in an “auto” state. App and system seem to work best if you set it, then close out of the app and never open it again. Sadly this doesn’t get support from Cummins.

System has not worked since day 1 and calling Cummins support in Tampa and Orlando has offered no support besides no call backs (5 x) and being told by at least 6 different personnel that it is to new and they could not help me and must transfer me, the last time referring me to a saleswoman. Lost all faith in the Cummings generator. Told them I would like to return the part and they said no because it is electronic. So in short they sold me a part that was possibly released to early and does not work the techs can’t figure out how to make it work and I am stuck with the part at a couple hundred dollars.
