Odio – Immersive Ambient Reviews

Odio said to try to move a sound: The sound disappeared altogether without any movement. Odio said try to add a sound: I couldn't figure that out.

The soundscape I chose was alright, but I tried several that weren't interesting for me. If I had found a few that I might want to keep as background, I wouldn't have deleted Odio .

I've been a VoiceOver TTS & braille user for 10 years. I love the idea of exploring 3D and would enjoy trying to understand 3D modeling (outside the current scope of Odio I suppose, but it sounds like we are supposed to be able to build using sounds... which is exactly what I wish to do...!)

It won’t let me use the Wi-Fi to download more sounds I have to use my 5g. And even when I do it fails to download. It would be cool to hear more sounds.

Pretty basic spatial audio app with some canned electronic music and environmental sounds. I didn't find it to be much more interesting than as a demo of spatial audio. Deleted.

The audio and the idea is really cool in theory, but it only allows you to listen to it for a few seconds before it asks you to buy the audio pack. I would give it a higher rating if it gave at least a few sounds for free. Disappointed.

…and I really do hate the way Odio is essentially useless as downloaded. A waste of download bandwidth. Odio exists only to sell you their “sound ornaments.” It’s an interesting concept but, sorry, based on a minute tutorial with no real opportunity to play with Odio , I’m not forking out any cash.

Was hoping to find nature-based AI generated sounds, but instead it's full of custom tech-based sounds from different artists. Would use this more if they could recreate nature sounds without loops like we normally hear.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work very well without AirPod Pros. And the play and pause controls don’t work at all. The only way to stop the player is to close Odio .

I might give it another go when these issues are fixed.

I just download this a few minutes ago and it seemed pretty cool. I then purchased the H2O pack and set up my soundscape and Odio crashed so I restarted it. I then went into Odio again. After setting up my soundscape and sitting in it for a few minutes with other apps open, it crashed again. My main feedback so far therefore is I wish that it didn’t crash so often and it would be nice if I could actually save my physical sound space so that when I open Odio again, it is already set up for me.

When I first subscribed it had 3 options Monthly, Yearly and Lifetime. I tried monthly to test out and fell in love with it. Went to go buy lifetime and its not there 5 minutes later. Just monthly and yearly. Would also love landscape mode to use with my Magic Keyboard. Good Stuff!

I never felt compelled to write app reviews but Odio left me so excited. The features along with the aesthetically pleasing design of Odio is unmatched. I enjoy listening to ambient electronic and nature soundscapes and Odio is perfect for that. It’s fully interactive, allowing you to adjust different audio effects/ambient sounds to your liking. (I somewhat feel like a dj without all of the synths and such.)

The spatial audio feature I my favorite—it feels like I am in full control of my auditory surroundings. This makes it perfect to mask noise pollution and create your own dreamy soundscape. I am so excited about this apps’ potential! I hope it never leaves Odio Store.

I used Odio about 5 minutes before writing this review, I did the free trial instantly, putting my AirPods in I didn't know what to expect, I'm not one to download apps with minimal reviews. Though I'm so thankful I did, moving the sound of water back and fourth between each ear gave me goosebumps. All of my favorite songs do that bounce between earphone thing, and now I'm in control of it. This is a pretty enjoyable app, as the free version offers two playlists I think? Which for most normal people would be enough, but if you're someone who music and sounds effects very deeply I highly recommend. I'll be spending hours on Odio. I wouldn't recommend if you don't have an okay pair of headphones. The only thing I was disappointed by was that the background image doesn't move with the manipulation of the sound like I assumed, but I understand this is pretty new and that could be something already in the works, who knows. But regardless I'm in love, thank you to the developers!

It’s wrong to call this an app. It’s really more of an experience purely of your own creation that you can edit or change whenever you want. Put in your ear pods and work those fingers on your touchscreen and see what happens. That sounds a bit hyped but just think about that for one second: Over and over and over again you can tweak sounds, and how they mix, for the rest of your life, by what suits YOU, just by using your fingers on your screen. You can create multiple compositions to fit whatever moods you might want to bring about, or manipulate sounds to fit how you might feel about whatever your situation is… You are the composer of your own personal 3-D spatial soundscape. And truly it is SO COOL 🤯 Try it and you’ll see. Meanwhile, I will be chilling while working & this app will facilitate that in a big way…. Truly a great app that I will always keep with me.

I’m a big fan of Odio and very pleased with this. Have the developers considered an a la carte option, where users can pay for artists’ selections individually? Those of us who are averse to subscriptions could still have some variety, the artists would get their due, and those who subscribe still get the full package.

I decided to give this another go since I’ve become a fan of ambient backgrounds lately. You know, the type of sounds that dull noises around you. People talking, chairs scraping, the little ambient irritations of life. I tried the two free soundscapes while wearing my AirPods Pro max and wow. My mind was blown y’all. BLOWN. The sounds are 3D! They move with my head! I was happy to see you offered a lifetime purchase (rare to find anymore- kudos to you!) and clicked “buy”. I am loving this new meditative headspace called this app.

First, I really like Odio so thank you sharing it free. But I don’t think it means what you think it does.

Second, odío means “to hate” in Spanish.

I don’t mean to discourage your obvious skills, though truth be told, I’m lucky i know how to use a calculator never mind how to develop an app.

Amazing app - haven't been so impressed by any other in a long time. Super good for long flights --- noise cancelling Airpods and enjoy!

Note to developers - would be great to add a "random mode" - where the elements change positions and their parts randomly in a different pace, shape. Please bring that up! 👍👍👍

I downloaded Odio by mistake actually, but after only using it a day, I love it and will probably subscribe after my free trial. I wish it had more soundscapes though.

Really good and interesting App! But the free version of Odio isn’t great in my opinion. I think there should be more free soundscapes. Just in my opinion. Also please consider thinking about the more free soundscapes. Overall I still love Odio and really recommend it!

Also congrats on the Apple Design Awards 2022!

Who would had thought that noise could become such a game changer… These couple of days had been rough with career and mental health. It was impossible to find inner peace, and finding ways to cope with anxiety and fear. Right now, Odio and my AirPod Max just allow me to feel as if I am on a vacation near nature and waterfall. Truly, from the the bottom of my heart huge thank you to the developer and the creator!

From sound to sight, Odio taps directly into my hardware in a way I’ve only experienced before via narcotics and hallucinogens. As I set out on a path of recovery and clean-living, I’m reminded that there are other ways to have my reality warped and manipulated. Please keep up the amazing work all those involved from development to artists producing new soundscapes!

I’ve tried a couple of somewhat similar apps and this one has the best sound, interface and possibilities. The sounds seem organic in that they fluctuate and pulse. The interface is streamlined and easy to use. Think Bauhaus meets the future.

One important thing I would note for those beginning using headphones, set the ‘acoustic setting’ to small. This allows you to hear the sounds more vividly and catch the sometimes subtle changes as you drag the sounds around.

My hardware is iPad Pro 1st gen and Powerbeats 3.

I love ambient music and I’ve been obsessed with finding spatial versions. Odio lets me arrange the sounds myself which is amazing!

I’d like to be able to position sounds above and below me as well. It would certainly complicate the interface but you are smart! By tilting my head I can get a waterfall to sound above me, but I’d like to place it there when my head is upright.

This is easily one of the coolest apps I have ever used. The menus and design of Odio look spectacular, not to mention the ability to customize a 3D spatial audio soundscape around you. So far I’ve only tried the two free soundscapes but they are truly impressive. I'm glad Odio was highlighted by the Apple Design Awards, it was well deserved.

I am constantly seeking music that embodies frequencies to intentionally inspire specific ways of being, namely peace and emotions of positivity. I am super happy to have found Odio, when I play it in my car or on a walk in nature I find myself subconsciously uplifted, exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend Odio.

Odio is well made, simple, and visually pleasing. The two free sound tracks are good and i enjoy the fact that i can tweak the settings on how it sounds without out that it would make this a 3 star but overall Odio is a solid 5 because of the accessibility and because the music is good.
