Summary of National Park Service Problems 😠👌🔥

- It would be helpful to be able to export and/or share a list and automate downloads for parks on the list with another user.

- It would be nice to have a check-in area where users can keep track of all the parks and places they have been to and seen.

- It would be helpful to filter the 423 NPS units by their 'type'.

- The app does not have info on the Jr Ranger program.

- The app has inconsistencies with park closures and visitor center hours.

- The app needs to be more user-friendly, such as adding a park to the visited list directly from the park info itself.

Downloading of parks data for using the app offline (very useful feature, since the mobile network coverage may be very limited in the parks) doesn't work properly: It starts OK, then stops at 86%, or 92%, or any% (I made several attemts, on two different parks), and remains so "in the middle" for eternity. Version Android, downloaded and installed on Samsung Galaxy A52 in April 2024

App worked fine until I updated to version 1.16.1. The NPS logo appears when I try to start app and then after 20 seconds or so it just doesn't load and I manually have to shut down the tab. I have the app on my iPad and didn't install the update. That one continues to work fine. I have the latest iPhone SE running iOS 17.4.1. I restarted the phone, rebooted router and no luck. I just read another review labeled "You Broke It" and that is what's happening to me. I figured I wasn't the only one with the problem and because of Easter it might take some time to become aware of the problem.

Dear Sir or Madam, I have a problem with the maps in my NPS app: The app does not show any maps. Instead, it only gives a black screen. Can you advise how to solve this issue? Best regards Martin

I really like the app and hope to use it when I come to the USA next week. But none of the maps work - they are just blank. It would really help if I could get them to load

About this app

Interactive Maps: Each park has a detailed map that includes points of interest, along with roads, trails, and other information to plan your trip.  The National Park Service App is the brand new official app for all 420+ national parks.  Find interactive maps, tours of park places, on-the-ground accessibility information, and more.  Unlike other apps, NPS Mobile takes authoritative information from park rangers and combines it with a great suite of features.  NationalParkService was created by National Park Service staff—people who know national parks—to help you make the most of your visit.  With all of these parks and a brand new app, it will take some time to finish creating content for each park.  This one single app includes every one of the 420+ sites in the National Park System, no matter how big or small.  Share Your Visit: Tell your friends and family about the fun things you did by creating and sharing virtual postcards with scenes from the park.  Accessibility: NationalParkService offers a fully accessible experience with tools to benefit visitors with accessibility needs, such as audio descriptions of exhibits along trails and roads and in visitor centers.  It’s like having a ranger by your side to guide your trip, giving you suggestions for places to go, directions to get there, and things to do once you arrive.  If you don’t find what you’re looking for now, check back regularly as our rangers work to complete the experience for each of our parks.  Self-guided tours take you to interesting places in the park.  It’s especially handy if you’re exploring remote areas in parks or concerned about data limits.  Amenities: It's the little—and sometimes not so little—things that can make or break a park visit.  Let a park ranger be your guide!  Take a bus tour or scenic drive? Visit a museum? Join a ranger program? Become a junior ranger?
