Adding machines have the bare bones functionality you probably use most often: add subtract multiply divide. Calculators include short cuts for fractions, exponents, inverse, etc. this app does not have those calculator basics. It is fine as an adding app, but it isn’t actually a real calculator. In other words, there’s no way to do a basic exponent function. It’s infuriating for something called “calculator”.

Unfortunately, if you use more than 2 numbers in sequence, it fails the simple test of order of operations. That’s a big fail, but if your looking for something equivalent to a Casio in the 80s, it’ll do for your needs.

To test, try 2+3+9+8*6. It’ll give you 132. The answer using proper math is 62. Do the same problem in google and you’ll get the correct answer.

I am so happy to have found a calculator that doesn’t make you watch 6 ads to get 1 total. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that it doesn’t keep a running total. I have to keep hitting the equal key each time I add or subtract. Otherwise, it’s a great app.
