CamToPlan - 3D Scanner & LiDAR Reviews

I can deal with a subscription, don’t like them but if an app has robust functionality that fully works on my phone I may sign up. Before even loading an app on my phone I check the phone compatibility requirements, my phone was on the list. Load CamToPlan and as soon as it tries to do anything the warning pops up telling me the phone does have LiDAR capability so functions will be limited and it will have limited measurement accuracy. I’m not sure why anyone would want app with the primary function of it disabled but unless you have the LiDAR capability this is what you have. If I was running a new iPhone with the needed camera to get full functionality maybe it would be a great app. However it wasted my time by not saying up front what phone(s) you need if you expect CamToPlan to work as advertised. Went less than two hours on the “Free seven day trial” now let’s see if I still get charged after canceling the subscription.

Faster too , and honest with the images when I zoom it doesn’t just blue then it removes the pieces that won’t come up right instead of pretending it knows what it looks like

I was able to scan a room without subscribing. However I was not able to preview it. Why would I dare to subscribe to something that I don’t know works? There are many similar apps. At least those app devs have shown that they do not do what I’m looking for. This has potential but really needs to prove it before telling users to subscribe. I need to test and CONFORM measurements and other features actually works and isn’t singing made up, gimmicky and inaccurate - before I subscribe.

Amazing. I do design work and this has already saved me multiple trips back to sites to get measurements. Would definitely recommend CamToPlan with a phone that has LiDAR.

Was scanning away in no time. Easy to discover features.

Much easier to grab drawings than other apps

Mind-blowingly cool, but crashes with detailed rooms, even on an iPhone 12 Pro with no other apps running—which is frustrating because you just spent a few minutes walking around filming without anything to show for it.

There’s better apps out there that are actually free. CamToPlan advertises itself as free but you really can’t do anything unless you buy their subscription. Waste of time downloading for a scam. If you’re going to advertise CamToPlan is free you need to have at least a couple of features you can do on the free version.

It’s a ok except when they ask you if you like CamToPlan or not

At this point, polycam seems better, I love this app apps and been using them for a while but capture is not there yet

pretty easy and straightforward. works fine. however you need to pay to actually look back at your saved scans, which defeats the whole purpose of a free scanner app sooo. yea. if you have money to burn, this is CamToPlan for you. if you just wanted to have this for conveniences’ sake, tough luck.

The scanning process is quick but the model is low quality. Lots of misalignment and corners that aren’t 90 when they should be.

way too expensive to just scan a room, not worth it. it scams you but letting you scan a whole room wasting your time then crashing CamToPlan and only letting you access saved files if you purchase premium.

A lot to learn and making working fun

Love this application

My first thought was “ugh….another subscription based app.”

But after using it to easily and quickly measure and display measurement data for a garden bed we’re installing, I’m won over! What would have taken 5~10 minutes of laying a tape measure, drafting out rough sketch, and then manually calculating dimensions, took me a minute or two.

I get accurate measurements simply by walking over the bed, and I can the send those measurements on to others! And due to it being a complete picture of the land, it made planning our garden bed SO simple!

$25 for a tool this handy, per year, is worth it in my books. I’ve spent far more than that on laser measuring devices which take way more time than CamToPlan did.
