Everything Legentibus offers is free elsewhere. They want $99 PER YEAR to access Lingva Latina.

Everything this offers: dictionary, background play, books, etc. is all free online, and tbh it’s pretty sketchy they’re charging so much to access Lingva Latina.

You don’t even realize what material is locked until getting through the 4 page (what appears to be AI generated introduction). I have to assume some of the stories were created with the same method. I’m so tired of apps like this being labeled “free (with in app purchases)”.

I decided to look at this program for the free 3 day trial. I immediately realized it had almost nothing for students of ecclesiastical Latin. Within 20 minutes. I tried to cancel. I evoidently erroneously signed for the shortest subscription as it appeared that was the only way to look at the program. I was charged $9.99 and I don’t know how since I don’t use Apple Pay. Somehow they accessed my credit card info. Time to get a new card I guess. I complained and have still been charged for a month for something I only looked at for 20 minutes. Be careful of the limited offers on Legentibus Store. This is the second time I have been charged for a subscription when I was using the free trial.

this app is not only my go-to Latin app, but it’s also my favorite language-learning app in general! It does one thing, and it does it very well.

The beginner stories are a fantastic resource for varied comprehensible input all in one place, and there’s plenty of intermediate content to keep someone busy for a long time as well.

The best part about it: as a busy person and mere hobbyist progressing at a slow pace, I no longer have any excuses for not reading at least a little bit every day; so even if I’ve had a day whereby I didn’t make any time to study at all (and I have more of those than not, unfortunately), I can still keep the candle lit by quietly (re-)reading a quick story before bed, and calling that a win.

I have been using Legentibus for a short time and really love having the ability to just pull up an app on my phone and keep studying when I’m tired.
It’s intuitive, helpful with confusing words , and easily one of the most informative teaching tools I’ve ever used.

A truly remarkable Latin app that really does it right. Integration with Lingua Latina is so well done. Everything about Legentibus is professional and done with real love (you can tell!)

I love using this . This only thing I wish is that it had the features of other audible app that allow for speeding up and slowing down the audio.

The only resource for Latin learning that compares to Legentibus is LLPSI itself. Legentibus brings to life a language otherwise dead in modern day. Telling Greco-Roman stories like Germans tell there cultural myths, like we are engaged in a living culture. Thank you to the creator(s)!

Legentibus is literally the only thing you need to learn Latin quickly, efficiently, and enjoyably. I wish every single language were available in an app like this.

Legentibus makes learning Latin fun and possible. There are some classic texts and some brand new ones. Pugio Bruti, for instance, is a fantastic new Latin story. It’s so passionately thought out and so well constructed, that I think this could be a model for other foreign language learning apps.

Legentibus is simply amazing. I am using it every day to help improve my Latin reading, listening, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary skills. I’m now on my 12th book, in the middle of “Pugio Bruti,” which I love.

I recommend it for Latin students and teachers of ALL levels. It will help you be able to READ Latin fluently.

As a student, it’s difficult to access material like this except for when latinists release it for free (which I don’t expect them to do of course!). But having an app with a very reasonable subscription and all these features is amazing. The value is absolutely worth it, especially with the ability to both read and listen.

I don’t think there is a better resource for learning Latin in Legentibus Store or off of it. Lots of material for the beginner to the advanced student alike. I really like how you can follow along with the narrator while reading books. Very handy to have all the material in Legentibus on your phone so you can access it anywhere at anytime. I use it daily on my breaks at work which allows extra time to study. I listen to it while I drive also. Excellent for allowing you to immerse yourself in the language. It has quickly become indispensable in my Latin studies. If you’re interested in learning Latin, don’t pass Legentibus up. It is a must have.

I have wanted to learn Latin for decades! Legentibus is marvelous for that. I love it; I love the reading and being able to hear the words spoken. I have learned so much in the very few daysI have been working with it. I do not know how it could be improved; how do you improve perfection? Thank you SO MUCH! You have given me the ability to fulfill a life-long dream. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have only used the free books so far, and intend to continue to do so until I’ve squeezed all there is to learn out of them. When I get some spare funds, I will very likely get a subscription.

Pairs well with the book Lingua Latina per se Illustrata; in fact, Lingua Latina appears to be included with the paid subscription, which is a major plus. Even more so given the wonderful dubbing 👍👍🔠🏛

Legentibus is truly delivers on its promise. It contains audiobooks of a diverse set of texts, expertly narrated. Moreover, the macronized texts follow the audio, and also include an English translations. You can click on a word to take you to the definition. You can download resources for offline access. And not to mention, Legentibus design itself is beautiful. Legentibus is _exactly_ what I’ve been needing to accelerate my learning.

I cannot say enough good about Legentibus. I’m a beginner a few months in, but improving and mostly because of Legentibus! The stories are fun and engaging and the reading level is perfect - challenging but not in a “wring out your brain” kind of way. Daniel Petersson’s voice is amazing and he reads the stories in a way you can understand the meaning of new words through how he emotes. It’s brilliant and fun and I wish every language had an app like this one!

The interface is clean, attractive and functions well. The quality of the recordings us excellent - the narrator speaks in a clear, attractive Latin and gets an amazing amount of expression into the beginner stories I'm downloading. The stories themselves are also surprisingly fun and interesting considering my limited vocab. The illustrations themselves are also very expressive and charming - even to a 50 year old :-) I'm super happy to have this as a supplement to Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata.

I thought I would dabble in a wee bit of Latin to satisfy my inner nerd. Was perusing the store, downloaded a few apps and books and courses. And then I got to this one - I am blown away.

The stories, which teach Latin using history, myth etc are fantastic. I’m just starting out but I really love the approach. It has definitely made the prospect of learning Latin enjoyable.

It’s also interesting to fill out one’s vocabulary to look up the root words and find related English words, either to the Latin, or going further back to PIE and seeing the connection between words. (Pax, pacify, pacific, lead me to Magellan and the Pacific Ocean).

this app is a fantastic way to learn Latin regardless of age or experience. I love that Legentibus is frequently updated along with the books/audiobooks themselves. Features such as built-in dictionaries, interlinear translations, and narration are helpful and make learning a lot easier and more interactive than a traditional book. The UI is well designed and I have yet to encounter any significant bugs. this app does require a subscription in order to access most of the books but there are several free ones. I would highly recommend downloading Legentibus if you are serious about learning Latin.
