Lumenate: Explore & Relax Reviews

I have used this for 5hrs + and am still waiting for it to work. I have been using it with a muse headband to record EEG readings and so far I have not seen a Benefit. Although I will experiment more to see if I can somehow use this in combination with other techniques and technology to justify continued use. I’m sorry to say that I am disappointed because I had high expectations. Good luck to the rest of you, perhaps you will have better luck with it than I have.

Save the frustration and your money. I have paid for Lumenate twice now and it still won’t let me access anything but the ‘discover this app” audio. I click “explore Lumenate ” but it keeps telling me I don’t have access even after I just paid for access. Going into settings and seeing “unlock all content” for the same price I just paid is so frustrating. It has a “restore purchases” button but it doesn’t work. I can’t rate Lumenate based on its offering because it doesn’t work. So I’m just rating it on functionality. One star is still too many. Very disappointed :(

I love Lumenate and I would 100% pay for it if there was more content or if it was a one time fee but there isn’t much content and $40 as an annual cost is pretty steep for so little content. I really like doing the free ones and I will maybe one day pay for it if it’s a one time fee or when they add more content. It’s a very cool concept. I’ve done tons of meditation for over 10 years and this gets me blissed out for sure. Definitely cool stuff I hope they expand Lumenate .

I downloaded and tried this app, but have been unable to complete a session because my phone (iPhone 11 ProMax/ioOS 14.4) overheats, throwing an error that stops the session. When that happened, Lumenate recommended steps that didn't resolve, so i ended my meditation feeling a bit unfinished. I found the partial session to be very interesting and I can imagine this being a valuable resource, but hope the developers are able to tweak the experience to work within my phone’s operating parameters.

I’ve used it several times now and it definitely helps me reach deep meditative states. If you are familiar with the term “activation”, it can get you there.
I find the only limitation is having to hold the phone. I’m going to develop something to hold the phone in front of my face comfortably so that I won’t have to. Like I said it’s almost perfect.

Gave it a test drive and once my eyes stopped trying to clench it reminded me more of my experiences with my own and more traditional meditation techniques, including perceived colours and mandalas. I may use it from time to time when I simply can’t sink into the zone with my regular meditation practices.

Granted, I have only had Lumenate for about an hour. I’ve done four sessions so far and I can see it has potential.

I watched this featured in good mythical morning and Rhett went absolutely existential over it. I readily identify with him so I thought I would give it a try after being a skeptic (denier) of hypnosis, psychoactive videos, and hypnotherapy in general).

All in all I’ve got to say, this has some actual potential. I’ve seen flashes (no pun intended) of imagery and silhouettes form as the lights dance. I think I have to open my brain up a bit more and train my eyes to stay closed to really open up what this has in store.

Hopefully they will add more sessions soon as I have all but blown through half what’s available right now.

Hoping to revise this in the coming month and give 5 stars after I train myself to more fully experience the sessions.

Great app. I find it’s easier to clear my mind with additional light stimulation than with regular mediation.

I highly recommend getting a phone case with a kick stand so you don’t have to hold the phone to your face.

But one thing the developers have to fix is not locking the screen for the entirety of the mediation. The lock only lasts for 10 seconds. Often times during the meditation I might adjust the phone slightly from its stand any it always ends up pausing the mediation.

Furthermore, since the phone screen stays “active” when text messages come in the notification alerts can be heard. Please update so the Home Screen can be locked or better yet allow mediation to continue and turn off the screen all together so that dnd mode can take afffect.

I never seen something so effective as this. Especially the sleep pattern. I fall asleep every time before I realized it was I asleep. Wish my phone would sleep after the session is done after finish the session but it doesn’t.

Still experiment more with the other options. Will provide more feedbacks.

Lumenate is amazing! I’ve never felt compelled to review any app I’ve ever had but this is powerful and seems like it could do a lot of people good. The deep sense of calm and relaxation I was able to reach helped me reach a positive mental state during a rough day. The visuals were powerful and reminiscent of the psychedelic state.

As we think, so do we become is the old adage. Thoughts cause feelings (and behaviors). The sequence of thoughts is almost as important as the content.
Altering old thought patterns by the addition of new sensory input changes the sequence and meaning of the thoughts.
this app is a great way to reframe thoughts and feelings… and ultimately generate new behaviors. A nifty little tool for change.

25+yrs professionally and personally in the field. This is an immediate culmination of it all, especially if your open from the start. I am excited for where this daily practice will go. I look frwd to the journal keeping that is a part of Lumenate as well. Bravo!! A miraculous app that can help us individually reprogram, imagine it collectively :) Well done Rosemund. Thank you 🙏

I tried Lumenate and surprisingly it had an effect on me, I feel like I reached a deep meditative state and i saw interesting patterns and some unexpected shifting shapes( I’m not sure if it’s actually an psychedelic effect or something like what you see when you rub your eyes , because of the constant flash) and also the patterns and shapes continued to appear after the session and lights stopped for a short while. My only concern is, can this be bad for your eyes? My eyes were hurting and watering in the beginning but then I got used to it and it wasn’t that bad. And does it matter if you are wearing contacts on your eyes? I tried it with contacts in the beginning and my eyes were watering and then I took them out. Keeping a flashing light 10 cm away from your eyes doesn’t sound like something your eye doctor would recommend, but I’m not a doctor so I wouldn’t know.

don’t normally write reviews but must say I’ve used Lumenate on and off for a year and especially during very difficult times, it allowed me to process things I hadn’t accessed before in a very calming way, if that makes sense. I hope that it can help many more on their personal journeys.

Wow I downloaded this on a whim and boy was I blown away. Lumenate helped me achieve full closed eye visuals on par with psychedelics and the best part about it was I wasn’t in for a 6-12 hour ride, I could stop whenever I wanted to. The headspace this puts me in is one of pure bliss where I am able to look inwardly while also contemplating what my own mind is capable of imagining. What a cool self exploration tool.

As an explorer of consciousness, advocate and user of Psychedelics, Entheogen’s, Yoga, Meditation and other methods to potentiate a profound Mystical Experience I found the experience rewarding. In my first trial session I was analyzing the experience (not fully letting go) and half way through suddenly experienced an emotional release and started crying, in a good way! 🙏
Visually this lacks the typical fractal nature that psychedelics produce upon entering the deeper mystical state, but it was similar to a Samadhi type state infused by LSD of bright light, pure consciousness, oneness etc. but way less intense. Which is honestly probably best for most people.
I find this to be a quick and convenient way to get into a more deeper meditative state then most people will be capable of. I’m very impressed and would highly recommend this to most people 💖

I’ve been using Lumenate for about twenty days. I use it before bed and it helps me reflect on my day and fall asleep quickly. Some of the things it has helped me realize in my meditations are huge and I feel the technology is ground breaking. Now there is a morning guided app and I’ve been getting up earlier and starting my day with a plan.
Love Lumenate and look forward to more guided meditations! Highly recommend.

So, I've tried just about every meditation app there is, and I really enjoy a few of them. The thing about this one is that it's totally unique in its use of the flashlight to create closed eye visuals. And the fact that it synchronizes with brain wave activity is super cool. I really enjoy Lumenate and I think it's a great way for people who think meditation is boring to bridge the gap. And their customer service is excellent. Highly recommend 👏

1) This is the best app…ever? I can’t think of any app (other than those that make something in the real world more convenient) that’s had as much of a positive impact on my day. I bought the annual subscription immediately after my first free ride. This is the Galaxy Brain of apps.

2) You’ll notice people in other reviews complaining about having to hold their phone. Those people are too dumb to search for “flexible arm phone holder.” Don’t be dumb. They’re less than $20 at your favorite flexible arm phone holder retailer.

I do not write very many reviews, but I cannot resist writing about this app. I have had it for a few days and each time I use it I feel an incredible deep sense of peace and joy.

I found it while doing a Google search on hypnagogic light. I was searching that because I read about Lucia Light and Ajnalight, which induce hallucinations and the release of DMT in the mind. But, these cost thousands of dollars. I thought that there must be a lower cost way of getting the same experience and eventually I read an article about this app.

I have also tried a number of medication apps, but I have had a hard time sticking with any of them because my mind is so active and easily distracted. this app is, without a doubt, the best meditation app I have used. It quickly brings my mind into a relaxed state.

I have over 200 apps on my iPhone. This may be the first app that I will be able to say actually changed my life (for the better!). It is worth way more than than what the charge. But, I hope that low pricing will encourage many people to engage with it.
