I started playing and thought wow this is great.. Then you make it out of the first chapter and realize a couple things.. 1) your characters do not level up when fighting or do any activities. Which is a huge problem considering you won’t get anywhere if they aren't getting stronger. you cannot progress the story. 2) most games that are similar to this. Give you at least a couple opportunities to build a decent team without spending.. This game however gives you one shot to get a decent character without spending. I got Fujin.. pretty boring in my opinion, but I leveled him up and tried. Long story short I’m stuck on chapter 2 due to a ridiculous paywall. Im not against spending some cash but theres no guarantee of getting something decent. Game is flat out too expensive. they should give you a little bit more to keep you interested. I imagine they will update soon a lot of similar reviews say the same. Give us a little bit more opportunity to build a team we like. As for now, I’m not spending. Going to need to dangle a better carrot than that WB…

This game is so poorly made it’s so obvious just a cash grab. There is no way to really get champions except by spending a gem which is rare to buy these orbs so then you can finally summon new champions. It’s way too much of a grind for graphics that are so poor and champions who don’t really work all that well. I am extremely disappointed that this was even green lit to release because it is such a bad game. Quan chi doesn’t even throw his special move unless you put it on auto fight which is so embarrassingly bad that on release they didn’t even playtest all their champions. Unless major changes are made I will not be redownloading.
by Gaspatchosoup
While the game is not bad to play it’s just normal free to play something to do while you do anything else. The main reason for the low score other than it just being another free to play game is that it’s one of 2 games I have had on my iPhone 14 Pro Max where after a very short time my phone gets extremely hot. This type of stuff can not only damage your phone but battery as well. Again this is an issue I have only had with one other game. I can stream all day non stop and stream all day while my phone is plugged in and it never changes the temp of my phone.

I will give the developers credit, they took Mortal Kombat and made it boring. That is an accomplishment. This game is what you would expect from a gatcha game that came out years ago. There are loading times between simple screens. Everything in the ui is obtuse and not user friendly. You want to equip a weapon? Multiple screens, you have to click on the slot and then go find the weapon you want. Most games now have a simple equip all button. Icons are small and hard to see on a phone and finding out info on what your skills do requires multiple screens, rather than just having them listed when you open up your character menu. You have to look at each one, one by one.
8 years ago this would have been a below average game, but now if it was not for the license no one would be playing.
by YourNakedMom
This game is fun, love the fact that there’s a whole other story for the campaign. Boss fights are fun and all the other things.
The reason for 2 stars, because in the arena mode, everyone has these premium characters from lucky rolls, while I have 4 equally leveled characters as well as I outplay them with 3 mind affinity against 2 body affinity’s which is a counter, but I still lose and can’t even kill one of the premium characters the other player has. I try different matchups, most of my characters have max level items but I still lose. I try everyday to try and roll for a premium character but my luck is awful apparently :) . Premium Kung Lao and FuJin are the most OP characters in the game.

The Gameplay is fun and can be quite addictive after a certain point of the Game you unlock Auto Fight. So You’re not gonna really be “playing” as much. In order to get better cards and characters sadly to improve your squad you will need to spend the premium currency to try to compete with other players.. But if you just look at the game as a another MK game it’s pretty fun! The story is pretty good and the graphics are amazing for it being on the phone. Just please developers make it more play friendly instead of having to always think about coughing up money to make your team more powerful. Make another currency that will be easier to optain where free to play players can still summon characters and purchase upgrades. If there wasn’t a pay to win feature I would give those game a solid 10/10. Right now currently I give it a 6/10
by ZombieThinking
Originally I had written a massive review that lined out all of my issues. But I’ll just cut it down to the most basic: Micro. Transaction. City. This game is designed to be pay to win. It is designed to take your money. This is not f2p friendly. Genuinely one of the worst cases of this I’ve ever seen. God awful writing. Just. God awful. It makes MK4’s writing look good. This is on par with MK Annihilation’s terrible writing. Remember Sindel’s “too bad YOU will die!”? Yeah this game makes that look Shakespearean. Overtly dated. Same style of game as Street Fighter Duel. But Duel plays like a game developed and made in the last two years. Onslaught plays like it was developed and made around the same time as 11. Because it was. And nothing was changed. WB has got to get it together.
Update: you can’t even refill your event energy for free more than twice total and it costs as much as a pull. Jesus Christ this is embarrassing.

This game has a lot of issues. I do like the designs of the characters and I like that there is cutscenes with voice actors but The over all game is very disappointing. First of all there are only voice actors in the cutscenes not the dialogue sessions. I fill like that was kind of lazy because I know you can afford voice actors because there are voice actors in the cutscenes. I say this because I fill like you should either have voice acting in all of the dialogue scenes or no voice acting at all. My second compliant is that this game is mostly auto played. I feel that if I'm playing a game I should be the one playing it not the computer. I do like that when you press the character when they are at full charge. Do really cool special moves but in my opinion that is not enough as a gamer I like a more interactive experience. I say all of this not to harass or be mean but to help you improve in the future and for this game to reach its full potential. I can tell from the graphics and the choreography that you have a pretty high production value and I can see that this game has a lot of potential. It’s just up to you if you want it to reach it’s full potential.
by RNL5312
Played for a full day and from that alone can tell this is going to be a very pay-to-win type game. Soon as you start, all the rewards you get from celebrating the games release helps you get through the first chapter relatively quick. After that it starts to slow down immensely because the games levels scale too fast for you to be able to level your own Kombatants. This is because Fighter XP is hard to come by and it seems the only way to get more is to purchase the bundles in store. Fun game but hard to progress.
by VVildHunt
This game was fine and even enjoyable. You seen it before the gacha game where you spend a bit and hopefully you get that 5-star character that can pull you out from the trenches. This game isn’t different from that formula. I do have one big issue: My game constantly does this thing where 2 characters on my roster just don’t move and don’t hit. It doesn’t matter where I slot them in the pre-fight staging area. That is a HUGE deal when there isnt any manual commands and you’re at the mercy of RNG. I can’t RNG anything if my characters don’t move or attempt to fight. This needs to be fixed asap otherwise the game will lose players really quick. Guarantee it.
by Rykeue999666
Fun game/ cool graphics and environment. My main grudges are the game eats my battery and overheats my phone. Can play for about 30 minutes and my phone is down 60% and runs hot. I don’t have this issue with larger and multiplayer games at all. Another annoying Gacha game just like MK mobile except your team plays auto all at once and it’s not close up to see how cool your characters are.
Manage to hit wall way early grinding story mode doesn’t do anything if you have 3 star on mission. Haven’t seen any brutalities or fatalities, probably make you jump through hoops and over pay to get just like MK Mobile. I will be deleting this game soon if the battery consumption isn’t fixed. No game is worth destroying my iPhone 15s battery
by Eto85
Appreciate the level of detail and flexibility for free to play people. Few items of feedback: huge battery drain, identifiers missing, auto target select is off. Identifiers Missing: in skill descriptions it will state “other magic opponents” or “outworld teammates” but these are literally stated nowhere. Idk which of my team is outworld, netherrealm, or earth realm if I don’t know the lore. Auto Select Problems: when my teammates are on “auto” they will choose opponents with largest health or Quan Chi when he is invincible. The targeting system needs to be recalibrated to factor invulnerable opponents and low priority targets. Gold Shortage: after completing the campaign, there are no additional avenues to get gold aside from arena rewards and lui kang tower. Giving you like 100k/200k tops if you play it right? Should be more refreshing koins arena rewards (given the reset is every 12 weeks). I get this is a scheme to pay for gold but even the exchange rate is terrible. 1 million koins is 10 levels on a character above 60….. forcing people to wait weeks/months to upgrade.
by Lolush25261
The gameplay isn’t what I would expect from a mortal Kombat game honestly. But it’s not terrible, one of the few things I have issues with is that there isn’t any x rays or fatalities. In the trialed it shows one but I’m not sure if that’s tied to the 5 stars in the game. Which leads me to my next point, you really don’t get much to summon for the premium banner. I know it’s a gacha game but Jesus, I got halfway through scorpions story mode and barely have half of the amount required to do one multi on it. The story also has a very quick difficulty spike which explains why there is a auto farm in the background. I’m pretty sure it’s not expected for you to blitz through the story since you won’t have enough mats, unless you buy them, to upgrade you team in order to progress easily. The menus seem to be a little slow? I’m not sure but I’ll click on a button to either go back or select something and it takes a sec for the game to register it. I think another quality of life thing would be to click and hold on affects such as bleed, etc since this game is using terms that aren’t really common. Especially on the armor sets, I understand what haste is but I would like to be 100% sure on what it means on the context of this game.

At first I was soo excited for the this game like you don’t understand. But, when I kept playing it made me not like it. I wanted to be more how the marvel: strike force game is to where I can pick an ability to fight my enemies, I can’t even pick an ability to fight my enemies I have to wait till the power move is up to finally fight them and it kinda cuts out the purpose of my characters. Second, it doesn’t give me enough money to summon a character cause my rewards every time I pass a level it doesn’t give the coins for it. Last, the voice overs if you gonna do a dialogue for a game at least have voices for all the characters not just some like I said it defeats the purpose of having a story mode. Sad to say but I will uninstall this game.
by Shavednuts
It’s kinda lame ngl I play a lot of these type of games, and it’s kind of disappointing how this game sizes up to others. First of the character roster available now isn’t too great and the character progression methods are lacking. For instance the gear and level up functions are boring and too simple they barely progress your character. While other games have gear tiers that constantly give boats to combat power this games gear and level up functions seem rushed. The graphics are really good for a mobile game, but the gameplay functions seem rushed. Also the game doesn’t reward you enough so it’s really hard to get new or good characters. I like that mortal Kombat branched out, but they’re missing some key gameplay components. I think they should’ve done some more research before they just threw this out there.
by Goldenlotus12
Its good and i wanted to love it, it has a lot of potential but its not actually enjoyable after the first chapter. My reasoning is that there is no EXP for any characters for a victory. This then requires coin for leveling all characters which means you will always be poorly trying to earn more coin, waiting for kang tower, otherwise you cannot progress and you cannot diversify your character sets in any kind of pace.
I tried three different optimized ways of using all resources and none of them permits getting past part of the kitana chapter 3 regardless, the only factor that changes this is pure RNG getting god tier 5 stars not just one but two that go well together.
I even tried starter bundle but it does almost nothing to increase character progression. It was a fun experiment but its not on par to raid for a similar kind of comparison.
by Tamedstrange69
The game itself has good ideas and the graphics and gameplay is quite good. However, there are many issues with the overall experience. Progression in all ways is terrible. You need different teams of all affinities to get higher in the boss towers which is critical for acquiring upgrade materials when it already takes forever to upgrade your core 4 units. Rewards from dailies and missions are minuscule compared to the terrible drop rates for decent units when summoning and the materials needed to upgrade that unit when you finally do get someone useful. You just end up getting stuck unless you spend a ton of money and then there’s pretty much nothing else you can do. I myself am willing to spend a little and have already, and even still I feel completely stuck. I will stick around for a bit but the game needs some serious changes and better rewards if the devs want people to stick around. Just feels too unforgiving right now. Also, the game will burn through your phone and kill the battery very fast.
by Giant Zock
Pay to win and extremly overpriced the stuff the give you at the start goes away in about 3.2 seconds and the only way to get better charecters is to spend like 60 bucks for a guaranteed 5 star and that with the 3 times value of each 30 dollar offer so they value it at like 180 for one charecter and you need minimum 4 for a team usually resources and progression is pretty fast at the start of the game but I guess nobody told them that or I mean maybe they just want you to pay to play I guess also doesn’t even feel like I’m playing the game rather just watching the computer play it for me I guys I could sit there and tap my screen randomly but that isn’t fun
by Blue Double G
I’ve been enjoying playing this game this past week and I would like to play even more but wow does this game kill my battery. I have an iPhone 13 Pro and it’s microwaving my phone. Not only does it get hot but the battery is drained really quick to the point where one time I had to charge my phone twice (yeah I was playing a lot lol). Please add a graphics slider so we can choose to wether have good graphics at the cost of battery or lower them a bit and enjoy more battery life. I was really getting addicted to this game but until they do something about the game draining my battery I will not be playing it.

Mortal Kombat + RAID Shadow Legends
That pretty much explains it just a reskin begging for you to open your wallet and put in those magic numbers. If you play it casual you can earn gems, but it slows down at the start maybe making 200 gems a day and slowly declining as you have less things to do before needing to be higher level or better characters. Honestly dissapointing. Finding myself at a wall playing free until the next time I can do some side things earn money level and repeat with no real reward. Characters feel kinda boring to own. Thats all cons it’s not all bad the graphics look amazing.
by Nihil Inani
So far I’ve experienced some general issues. Tapping on certain things doesn’t always register even though it will show the tap effect. There’s no sound. The scaling after chapter 1 already seems to be much more than it should be. As a f2p mobile gamer it’s never a good sign to have to rely on idle rewards after an hour or so of playing.
I may be too critical considering the game released 2 hours ago, but for a global release it’s not very strong as of right now.
I love Mortal Kombat and will continue playing and I’d recommend other MK fans to give it a shot, but don’t hold out too much hope for a very new game.
My final thoughts about the general gameplay systems are that they did a good job incorporating mechanics from some of my favorite strategy, team builder, turn-based games. I hope to see some improvements in the near future as I do see the potential of this game.

You know, I’ve been looking forward to this project. I’ve been looking forward to this game, but unfortunately, when I opened it, I discovered to my disappointment it was inaccessible with voiceover. this is a huge disappointment, because I am able to play Mortal Kombat mobile, completely fine with VoiceOver, however, this game unfortunately is not accessible for us. I Encourage you to please make it accessible if you can.
by AnotherMobileGamer
Why is it so hard for these high profile mobile games with huge budgets to get the touch screen responsiveness to an acceptable level? I have to tap on tiny icons over and over just to advance screens. Leveling up and equipping items is so sluggish it makes me not want to play. The low budget Chinese gacha games are lower quality but at least touch controls are responsive. There’s also no graphics settings to speak of and my iPhone 15 Pro gets HOT after just 15 mins.
by Dickb Jn
Of course, there’s no need to sugarcoat the gacha-style gameplay here because you know what you’re getting into with these types of games. I’m a huge MK fan and I’m excited to continue playing; however, I would say a big issue with the game right now is resource acquisition. Many of the trials or towers you battle in don’t provide a lot of resources to level up your characters. This is especially noticeable by the 3rd chapter where you begin to hit a major progression wall and it’s difficult to level up the characters that are needed to progress. It’s great getting some good characters for free but the amount of resources they’ll take from to progress the story rather than building the team you want is a little egregious. Overall though, if you know what you’re getting into mobile game wise, you’re gonna have a good time.
by FiltheeCasuaI
As far as gameplay goes, I honestly have no major complaints yet. The game basically feels like RAID Shadow Legends, but with Mortal Kombat, which just combines two things that I enjoy. However, the game does seem to chew through battery life like it’s nothing and there’s no settings that could possibly help that other than gamma adjustment. If there was a way to lessen the strain on the battery, this would easily get 5 stars from me, but until then, it will remain 4.
by SavagePayasso
As far as these style of games go this one is trying to do it well for sure.
The pricing on micros isn’t insane if you just want to dip a toe into spending, however, FTP players will have a very good way to get gear and progress using the kronicle events every month if you don’t want to spend.
The only place it seems lacking is arena, the rock/paper/scissors style tags they use seems like a good system till you get to the end game arena, then it does seemingly nothing.
I can have a full team of mind characters and still get completely destroyed by a body team that should be easy.
Once you get to the endgame, like most other systems like this, the mechanics matter much less than just overpowering your opponent with high tier characters
by Ridwanbd7
UPDATE EDIT: I love this game for having fun with playing it and it is really enjoyable. I am impressed with the story mode, arena fight, graphics effects and eyes catching environments. But there are a big issues with the game. It is quick battery drain down my iPhone. I live in Dhaka city of Bangladesh, and my internet connection is OK with MK game log in based Wi-Fi and mobile internet data. However, last month, I installed the game and played it with login OK. Then after 10 minutes of gameplay, suddenly my phone was heat and hot. I have noticed that my phone battery drained so fast from 100% to 20% for 30 minutes gameplay. This issue has happened because of the graphics and heavy effects. This is why I gave you 4 out of 5 stats. Hey developers, just fix the horrible issue and make a new graphics optimization option and add it to the setting of this game.
by RandomMorgan
For me I love playing the turned based games like marvel strike force and Star Wars galaxy of hero’s and I thought it was gonna be this game too but it’s a little different it’s just straight chaos which idk how to feel as of now because the game feels more uncontrollable and I’m not a fan of the class advantages where some roles are stronger against the other they are just cheap ways to not use certain characters against others but other than that I believe when there is more content and character this will be a 5 stars for me
by Trav Dj 5479
This game is pretty fun, but I have a few complaints.
1. Skull and Master Orbs are the only way to summon people (besides the daily summon) and it is not easy to get those orbs so I would like it if it is easier to get them.
2. The game is boring because you do just about nothing but watch the kombatants fight. I don’t know how, but I’d like it if you can make there more to do in the game.
3. I think the player XP is slightly hard to earn. It is easy to get but I don’t think you get enough of it so I would like it is you can get more XP so I can actually level up my fighters.
4. Maybe add more ways to sign in (just an idea.) Maybe a Facebook sign in, google, email, and Warner Bros. Account I guess.
Overall, it is a pretty fun game.

I have been excited to play this game and now that I can. I am unable to play. I’m stuck on the login info account screen it’s an infinite loading screen and when I try to do it from the opening gate before hitting start it won’t work. If I could have some help or answers that would be nice. Other than that the game from what I see looks good
by MC20223636373
The game is amazing and has really great graphics but the only reason I have gave it four stars is because during the boss battles the characters end up freezing and unable to use their special which creates a problem during gameplay.
by The Hunter Boss
Not your typical MK game. Think team fight tactics meets mortal kombat. It’s strategic in the sense that unless you’re going up against a team 100,000 pwr above you, you could potentially win if your roster composition and affinities are favorable. That being said those with deep pockets can obviously pay to level their characters and pay for summons to get the best ones too. But that’s basically the only downside. If you pay attention to items and abilities early on then they pretty much give you the ability to complete the campaign which is a great way to gauge your character strength and builds. Definitely a great game and I had a couple days off from work and they basically got took all the time I had from me! 😅😂 it’s that good. So beware!

Still giving it high stars even though I haven’t played the game yet!!! I’m stuck on an infinite loading screen of the game trying to log into my account on iPhone yet all my friends can play this fire game and it makes me sooooo jealous like I really want to play this game and it will just not let me I really hope that it’ll be fixed very very soon because I’ve been waiting for this game to drop forever now. Update. The fact that it’s been a week and there’s a bunch of people that still can’t play this game speaks volume on how the game is gonna last. We’re on the newest phones and this game can’t work on them.
by Aphturshok
Ok first of all- lotsa reviews are pointing out little things that don’t affect gameplay at all, it’s a new game, patches and updates will be coming out as needed. Saw someone complaining about needing coins to remove/exchange equipment. The cost is barely noticeable unless your completely out of coins.
The game is good. Arts great, battles are easy enough to pick up on quickly, pulls are what you expect from a gatcha type game few good, few bad… it is what it is.
As it’s new I’m sure they will be adding more events and content to make resource collection a bit easier-although they give away plenty, we of course still always need more lol.
This games definitely worth the play. Try it yourself before you let ignorant reviews push you away!
by Bobiradze
Im not a really fan of mobile games. Or usually i just get bored of them very quickly. But MK Onslaught is the only game I play every day for the past couple months. I read some reviews where people say its pay 2 play, it actually is not. I have not purchased anything at all (no koins or krystals) the Boss Tower Liu Kang gives you 3 times free money and XP a day and the Scarlet tower gives you the books. You just need to keep playing in the arena and get XP and Coins and then you can buy more krystals or any upgrades etc. in Chasm you can also get a lot of things to upgrade your players. I wish there were more stories. - I guess 1story comes every once to three months. So no complaints at all. Best game, love it love it love it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
by Killersjoke
Put a bar somewhere to indicate it’s doing something waiting forever and deleting it because there is no indication what’s going on getting annoying. Looks like a great game I’m patient and would love to play it but my patience is wearing thin. Must be fake reviews since it still doesn’t load so not impressed but might be if we ever get to actually play it just twiddling my thumbs hoping.
Are you done getting fake reviews yet and going to let people play the game?
by GodsCrime
This game has a lot of potential! It’s not going to be the greatest right of the start, especially for a gacha game, but I do enjoy it. It can be a little grindy especially at the beginning, but the new player rewards make things a bit easier. One thing that does bother me just a little bit, is the lip syncing with the words on the non cinematic pieces of the story (the scenes without the voice lines), but it’s not a huge deal, it is a mobile game. I’m interested to see what kinds of new characters they introduce because it already starts out with a large roster. Also, I’m REALLY excited for events, I’m hoping it’s one of those games where you can only get certain characters by playing the events or placing well in events (PLEASE PLEASE) but We’ll see! So far, I love the direction!

Game burns up the phone for a strategic style game but is worth it in it plays well looks good and the balance and reward system are good. The AI shows problematic issues that could be discussed away with added descriptors in abilities subtext. IE just had a vs battle with scorpion who (I didn’t see) doesn’t have a reason to have broken as he often does from fighting the trait compatible opponent directly in front of him to spear a far one he is weak against dragging them to him and stopping fighting the one he was winning against ensuring defeat in the battle. This since it is beyond control creates distaste but could be avoided if a hint of reason would be given for such things in character abilities. Still worth five stars for overall gameplay.
by Encore81
I loved MK Mobile, and have loved all of the Mortal Kombat games to EVER come out, but this game really steps up quality as a whole, especially for mobile. I was unbelievably impressed the first time I loaded the game up. The character quality is one thing that I’d like to point out. It’s absolutely amazing, and adds an almost D&D tabletop feel to it. 10/10, highly recommend! 🌟
by ArchangelRDM
First off I was blown away by the gameplay. The the fighters react during the actual battle. This is the type of game I’ve been looking for. The graphics are amazing and there is even a story to go along with it. I didn’t know what to expect but this was beyond my expectations. I’ve only played 4 matches so this is a beginner review. As of right now this is an excellent game.
by Dova L
The game offers a perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment. The controls are intuitive, allowing for smooth navigation through the enchanting landscapes. The storyline is rich and keeps you engaged, unveiling new surprises at every turn. Thanks to everyone that worked hard on this. Keep up the great work!

Never thought a mortal kombat game would ever be an rpg but here it is starting it off with my favorite character scorpion. It’s something new I will be giving a shot as it’s my first rpg played and even though it’s not my style of game, I’m getting into it. Good game so far and I wonder what updates await
by Ryan And Daniel
I wanted to write an honest review. I pre-ordered this game to try because I have been a mortal combat fan for a while and just because they wanted to try team RPG intrigued me. For IOS, they did a good job with graphics and even tho there’s some parts that are choppy and odd, the gameplay still brings me back to home.
by Cam0cj
The krystals need to be a little more generous. This game is pretty grindy with upgrading characters as it should be but being too grindy (which the console games has issues with as well with its grind factors) pushes more people away than it brings in. Besides the grinding being more balanced the game is GREAT
