Can’t recommend at this time

Concordia crashes constantly. I’ve had to abandon as many games as I’ve finished because they go into an infinite crash loop. It’s been very frustrating for my friends and I and we feel like we’ve wasted our money on Concordia. It’s great when it works but it doesn’t work all the time.

Unplayable on iPhone 12 scrren

Everything is too small. Reading texts is difficult. I have stopped buying landscape oriented games for iOS as 98% are shrunk down tablet, or worse yet, desktop screen making everything too small and hard, at best, text font size and nobody seems intelligent enough to allow font size options.

App crashes all the time

Tried to play against Concordia players and Concordia crashed during or after every turn. Tried to play an online game against a family member in another city and we both had problems with Concordia crashing about every other turn. Tried to send a message about this to Concordia support site listed with Concordia but the message wouldn’t go through - kept telling me to try later.

Great but crashes constantly

(Update: Before could delete+reinstall and get some playtime out of it but now it just crashes any time I enter an online game. Happening on both my iPhone 11 running iOS 16 and my iPad.)

Love the game and this is an excellent digital version of it. However, it crashes a lot. Deleting and reinstalling helps for a while but it eventually goes back to crashing whenever I get into an online match. Will update if this is ever fixed.

Horrible game ruining bug!

UPDATED Oct 29, 2023: another bug, just as bad! Carefully planned series of moves ruined. Bought Consul, then played it, then used Magister to use Consul again, but it doesn’t work. Will email them with details, like I did with the previous bug but these guys don’t get back to you and since the Prefect bug is still there, they probably don’t care about us. Horrible way to treat customers.

Can’t believe this still hasn’t been fixed. One of the best things about the game is being able to go through most of a turn, then change your move to compare. EXCEPT if you choose Prefectus first. If you then prefer a different move, you are TOTALLY AND IRREVOCABLY SCREWED. Press the arrow to end your turn with the preferred move, the board reverts to the Prefectus move and you can’t do anything about it. So I’m forced to continue with an inferior move and it’s a 9 point swing late in the game. I am so p-ssed!

Unplayable bugs

I have never got past playing my first tribune. Sometimes it crashes earlier. Then once I load back in the save crashes at the end of every turn until I give up loading back in. I have restarted my phone multiple times as well as reinstalled Concordia . Nothing.

Otherwise the game is fantastically designed and I would love to play more. I have unfortunately requested a refund.

3 stars because

-1 for slow gameplay of AI. -1 for map zoom-out (it is great, but I prefer full map overview. Maybe add simple view map to have better view of provinces and occupied routes) -1 for crashes -10 for battery consumption!! Battery issue has to be addressed with battery saver mode or reduced graphic and animations. Other than the above, the game is super awesome for a board game.

My device: iPad 6th Gen.

Too many bugs

App keeps crashing. Won’t load into server, have to attempt multiple times. When store house is full and you have more than one good to select to keep, it only shows one good and you can’t proceed since you can select more than the one. You have to test software before you release it, especially at this price!

Current version is broken

Upgraded to the current version today and the game constantly crashes. iPad Pro iOS 15.4.1

Excellent

Great digital adaptation of one of my favorite board games. There were a couple UI changes I was hoping to see, and those were implemented! Fantastic app and game, thanks!

Do the Tutorial

Even though I am familiar with the board game, I did the tutorial and it was very helpful. This is a super fun board game to play on my iPad/iPhone. I use both. (Learn to play on a bigger screen then it easier to know what’s going on on a smaller device)

This game deserves a much higher rating!

Fantastic adaptation of a fantastic game! Truly one of the best “Euro” type games around (that fixes a lot of the annoying parts of Euro games)

Unfortunately, when Concordia was released it was a bit buggy and so the ratings were low. But fear not, the bugs have been squashed and Concordia is now solid; after dozens, if not hundreds, of games in the past 7+ months I haven’t seen a single gameplay bug.

If you like the base game, the “Season Pass” is well worth it; it gives you access to all new content that gets released. Especially nice if you have the physical game as you can try out new maps and expansions to see if you like them before shelling out the cash.

Amazing implementation of one of the best games

Absolutely incredible App. Looks and preforms stunning, and the game is truly one of the best games you can play with like a 4 page rulebook. Simple to learn very hard to get good at. It’s a game of perfect info so if you are good you’ll be better than others.

Best Digital Board Game!

This is by far the best digital game I’ve played on the IPAD Scythe, root, and raiders of the North Sea are go to games for me and now I have another. I’ve played other games by Acram and while the interface was great the games didn’t resonate with me but this one is amazing. I’m sure the table top version is great but this one is beautiful elegant and intuitive. If your in the market for a great euro don’t hesitate!

Tutorial

I skipped the tutorial because I’ve played the board game many times. Realized on the first turn that I didn’t remember how to play and should have played the tutorial as a refresher. Now I don’t see the tutorial available anymore. Please add a button on the main screen to let us replay the tutorial.
Edit: found the tutorial in the introduction rules. Gave extra star

Fun but flawed (update: bugs fixed, game rocks)

I picked up the game today and with one exception it is a blast. The tutorial is solid, the game is user friendly, and I can see why this app is so popular. The problem is that the game crashed a LOT. My iPad is relatively new but the game crashes nearly after turn. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Update: the have been smooshed, there are no more crashes, and the game is fantastic.

Another Outstanding Digital Board Game from Acram

Acram is one of my favorite developers of fun, faithful digital translations of board games. I really liked their digital edition of Eight Minute Empire and Love their digital Istanbul. This is another winner. I had heard great things about this app but couldn’t play it yet since my kids are still too young to play mid-weight board games. Now I Can, and this is a very fun digital edition. I’m looking forward to all the DLC’s - Acram, when can I buy the Season Pass to get Day 1 access too all the additional content?!? :-)

Best zoom in feature of all IOS boardgames

I was a little afraid of not liking this adaptation at first cause it looks a little different than the graphics on the physical board game, but once you get used to it, it is seamless, and you really can tell a lot of effort was put into the making of this. The pinch zoom in/out on Concordia is freaking awesome, it looks 3D-ish and the map looks high definition and old worldly. Also like adding AI bots for online play against a friend (which the Agricola app never did). Other board game developers should learn from the making of this. Very satisfied.

Update: Fixed and Great! (Old: Near-Perfect But For a Glaring bug)

Update: Received a developer response saying that the bug had been fixed. I just checked and indeed it has been. I can strongly recommend this game and I appreciate the quick developer response!

(Old: This is a fantastic implementation of a great game but I seem to have stumbled on a bug. I’m unable to place more than one colonist when playing the ‘Colonist’ card because it forces me to confirm the placement of the first colonist before I can place a second colonist. If there’s something I’m doing wrong or a fix is implemented I’d love to change this to a five star review.)

Fun game I always wanted to play

Simple rules, but engrossing strategy. The presentation is beautiful with atmospheric music. Gameplay is smooth and quick. All of the game elements works together. Excellent port.
