I loved the interface of Sudoku and quickly considered paying the $8 to unlock all the features. I’m so glad I didn’t because the first puzzle I did had an error and was completely incorrect and impossible to solve.

Not only that, when I got as near the end as possible despite the error, but the puzzle had multiple solutions. That’s not true this app. I won’t even play a this app app with multiple solutions because it’s just not fun or soothing.

I dislike that it turns an error red. Id rather find my own mistakes. I also don’t like that there isn’t a way to reset the whole board you have to erase numbers 1 by 1. I turned off mysic but it still chimes and beeps when I put in a number or finish a row/column/square. All of its features require $1 per month which isnt a lot but id rather just pay money once and own the game. Its fine enough for now but I will be looking for a replacement in the mean time.

While note taking if you accidentally hit an answer number instead of a note number there's no undo button to bring back your notes , you have to redo them every time, and if you accidentally do it again while trying to replace your notes, they're all gone again, over and over it goes. And I regularly struggle and mistype. Really need a way to clear the answer and bring back the notes numbers for when you mistype.

There seem to be only about 10 boards per difficulty. Due to the nature of the game this can be pretty hard to notice, so you can still get a lot of enjoyment out of it if you don’t play much. If you have a lot of downtime and find yourself playing it a lot, it gets repetitive really fast. Additionally, Sudoku’s difficulty levels really do not match up with other apps, the medium is much more like the hard level or other apps, but the easy level is too easy.

You have to pay to turn off sound effects. My phone is even muted and it still plays sound effects, which are constant. That’s an immediate uninstall.
Sad, bc I love that it gives you a full notes number list along side the normal number list so you don’t have to constantly toggle. Black list for notes blue for full commit. Simple and elegant and perfect.

I got this game to help practice my this app, and quickly became acquainted with all sorts of strategies. I took the time to actually write this review because in the “medium” game I’m playing right now, a forcing chain is required for me to complete the puzzle. I’ve had to use many other advanced techniques in the medium games I’ve played, and I’d classify nearly all of them as hard rather than medium.

Sudoku technically functions as it should. But almost every single game I make a mistake by accidentally making a final selection rather than just a note, which immediately counts something as correct or an error. It would bother me even more if I were concerned about making no mistakes. Adding notes should be on a toggle so that you can’t enter a final number without changing settings.

It’s also difficult to navigate a fully notated grid. Something I’ve come to appreciate about the this app game on the Times app is that it allows you to transition views between personal notes and what the system automatically determines possible for empty squares for comparison. It doesn’t have to be the same thing, but perhaps some kind of manual notation system for grouping or saving notes on certain squares to avoid accidentally modifying them.

I can’t back out of a level I accidentally tapped on. And it’s a little boring. Add some competitive games. I’m sure it will make Sudoku a little more interesting. Thank you.

P.S : It also took sometime figuring out this review thing. I wrote a very long note and eventually figured out that I had been writing in the title the whole time. Add a label.

Sudoku is fun to practice this app on and I love the varying levels of difficulty. The only thing I do not like is it will force you to start over on a different board if you leave Sudoku for too long. I’ll be 90% through a game and have to start a new one because I went and did something else for 10 mins.

Reasons I don’t give 5 stars: * The available numbers are too close together. About 40% of my errors are from trying to strike one number but accidentally hitting the one next to it. * What did I pay for??!! I paid money to see how my scores rate against other players. And yet, they almost never appear. What gives??? How about an explanation?? Very disappointing!!!!!

I like a lot about Sudoku. The privacy intrusion and data collection is very minimal compared to most other apps, for starters. I love that your notes light up in the puzzle when you tap on the corresponding numbers, so you can see all your possibilities and patterns. My main complaint is that the medium puzzles are too difficult. If you have to know techniques like"skyscraper", "intersection removal", "xy wing", "bug+1" (and more!) to solve a puzzle, it should be a Difficult puzzle, not Medium. Can you make that adjustment? Otherwise this is a great app!

I really like the interface, but there must be a mistake in their game generator. The "Medium" games and the "Hard" games are the same. So you can only play easy and hard games.

I find this dort of thing frustrating because the people who wrote it obviously didn't test it, so hence the bad rating.

I like that their are no ads.

Sudoku would be perfect if not for the screen that pops up when you win a game. What is the point of night mode if you’re gonna just assault my eyes every time I win a game. I don’t need some big win screen, it’s this app. Just let me know I won and start another game. Please add a feature to disable that feature, it takes the game from perfect to unplayable for those of us who play at night.

This is very clean basic version without a lot of bells and whistles which is terrific however
the “advanced” one-time paid version that is supposed to give you extra data works about 10% of the time…..Don’t bother with it!
No one to contact for a refund either.

I love the layout, the highlighting, and that I can have both the notes and “final answer” numbers up at the same time instead of switching back and forth.

The one glaring issue for me and what keeps me from spending the $8 is the huge jump in difficulties. Easy is great for a quick 2-3 minute game, but the next two levels both usually take me 15-20 minutes. It would be much better if medium was actually halfway between easy and hard instead of basically the same as hard.

It’s free with no adds and they’re not mining your data. This is, in those respects, the best this app puzzle app.

The only criticism I have is that it’s really easy to hit the wrong number and then it counts as a mistake. I don’t care that it’s a mistake, but it would be nice to be able to turn the mistake counter off or make it not visible.

It is a very nice app. I just wish I could pull up a blank grid and put in a problem from another source. Say you mess up one from somewhere else and want to figure out where you went wrong. Input it in here and work on it on the go. Please consider this improvement.

Finally, a game where you can really relax and play a few rounds of this app without being bombarded by game ads. The ones with the tiny “x” that is impossible to tap on the first try and forces you to be rerouted to Sudoku Store for a game you aren’t interested in. FINALLY the proper this app game app. Different levels of difficulty keep it interesting and the notes feature is in the game as well. Just a perfect app.

No ads you get to choose the difficulty and you can tell it not to show you the timer! It is such a simple game and I love it I just wish a few more of the things we’re unlocked but honestly you can play just fine without them.

It’s just plain and simple soduku, no mini games, pop ups or ads. One thing I would say, is the ‘note numbers’ and ‘real numbers’ are very close together so I’m always accidentally tapping a real instead of a note and it gets marked as a ‘mistake’ ☹️
