I love BearWalkingPal! The bear is so cute, and its do much faster to pop open BearWalkingPal than to go digging through my health app to find out how many steps I’ve taken on a day.
Unfortunately the step count is not completely inaccurate. I’ve had a couple of days where it says I’ve had over a million steps, which is most certainly not true. Today it’s only showing about double what the health app says.
I wish I could use BearWalkingPal I really do think it’s great. But without accuracy, it is of no use to me.
I've had BearWalkingPal for a few months now. I have not had the random nonexistent steps show up that others have experienced. I find it pretty accurate when I open BearWalkingPal , but the widget doesn't update consistently.
At first, it tracked nothing. I had tried to contact the developer to find out why it was not tracking my steps, but **the developer was completely unresponsive**.
It gets its data from the iPhone Health app. There are no directions for how to allow that. I found out that "Motion and Fitness" under the privacy settings had to be enabled from a different app. Then BearWalkingPal still needs permission to receive the data.
Four stars because there are no directions or help.
I originally left a 1 star review after feeling that I was misled on the purchase. I changed it to 5 stars after verifying that I was not charged.
Overall, the walking app is cute, but would like it to be a little more interactive. The step count is off and doesn’t match anywhere close to my actual steps.
OK, so BearWalkingPal just tracks how many steps you have taken. But seeing that bear walking always brings a smile to my face.
This is a great example of an app keeping it simple, while being very effective and enjoyable.
…that the steps counter has been fixed to display steps for the current day. Now I can replace my Fitbit Zip. Upping to 5 Stars.
Thanks for the fix.
Super app! You think that, maybe, you could develop this for my Apple Watch, please? I’m sure many would greatly appreciate it! Thanks much! 😘
