I just purchased a Samsung side by side with family hub, Samsung smart dishwasher and Samsung smart microwave convection oven and your app can’t find those products in your system! They are all connected with the SmartThings app. What is going on?

Bottom line: the app, through a home network scan, gives Lowes access to data about the stuff you own and possibly more. The most innocuous use would be for (unlikely) device conflicts, followed by (ugh) marketing.
Instead, use their website for any benefits that came with your purchase instead.
Or if you truly want to both preserve a little privacy and (try to) use the app,*temporarily* connect both your mobile device and the item to a guest Wi-Fi network available on most routers. And then move them back to your personal more private network when you are done.
The app doesn’t detect even up-to-date products purchased from Lowe’s. I purchased a Samsung SmartOven. Confirmed the oven and my phone were on the same network. The scan didn’t pick it up. Nor was it in product search.
I am pretty experienced with home networking and IOT/SmartHome items. For thrills and giggles and let it scan my network. It said it found 23 items (looking at my router, that would include smart devices, computers, entertainment items, etc) but identified NONE OF THEM.
I did a quick manual search for several items around my home — vacuum, carbon monoxide detectors, cams, Echo interactive devices, etc. Just for curiousity, since again, I had intensified the app as neither necessary, useful, or of a certain degree of harmlessness.
The absolutely most useful feature in the app is the delete app account one. No telling about data retention, but at least you aren’t earmarked as active.
