The difficulty level is appropriate, and there are a couple of nice features such as an autocomplete once you’ve got only 9 squares remaining.

The main reason for the negative rating is the ads. Every single game you are prompted to watch an ad, always for the same limited set of games. That gets old real quick. Some ads are skippable after 5 seconds, but some are not.

The heaviness of the advertising experience makes it impossible for me to recommend this game to others.

There is a video ad after every game. You have to view it for at least 5 seconds before you can close it, then you have to close out the ad also before you can resume play. Several times there has been no way to even close the ad without closing SudokuClassicSudokuGames and restarting. Very aggravating! I wish there was just a purchase option without the ads, or at least far fewer ads.

I play Sudoku a lot and this is one of my favorite apps. It has the smart hints which work well, except that once you select the hint the square will be automatically filled in with the correct number. I prefer peeking at the hint then closing it to see if I can solve it. The big problem for me is that the board looks so much different when the hint pulls up with all the highlighting. I learn nothing if the number automatically fills in.

Highlights same numbers, auto-removes notes, holds number so you can enter multiple notes/answers by just tapping each square. Generally a quite good sudoku game.

BUT, if you’re listening to a book/podcast/music etc, it will cut the playback off AFTER an ad plays. The ad will play silently (superb), but then you need to swipe back to the audio source, then back to the game. Every 3-4 minutes. SUPER annoying.

I really like SudokuClassicSudokuGames and I’ve bought the full version. I hate accidentally hitting the Fast Notes button, as I immediately don’t know what notes are from me, and what notes are from this feature. Please add the option to undo it, or better yet, the option to remove the button from the hotbar. Thanks!

The only complaint I have with this game is after being paused for a long period of time you return to an almost finished game and while the actual progress was saved, the score is deleted and you have to start over from “0” making your final score really low. I will se what happens after this update is installed. Fix this and it’s 5 stars from me.

I’ve tried several sodoku apps. Some of them feature ads. Unfortunately, the ones that do not feature ads that I’ve tried severely lack smoothness. It can feel like a sluggish chore to fill in each box, not to mention take notes.

Here we have a smooth sodoku app that features ads. However, (and take notes, two-other-popular-sodoku apps) a *quick* ad plays either before starting a new puzzle or when completing one. They don’t even show up regularly. So, don’t expect to have to watch one between every puzzle. They are fairly sporadic.

Most importantly, the ads *do not play when you successfully solve a row, column, or box*. I deleted another sodoku app because that is how they implement ads. They do not care about user experience. You are simply a dollar sign to them. That is all.

Other than that I have nothing more to say, except thank you to the publishers and developers of SudokuClassicSudokuGames.

This will teach you to learn the game. There are multiple levels, fast, easy,hard & expert.
There are also options to choose about automatic hints and such.
There are badges to earn. However there are three badges you cannot earn and you will not receive responses from support. No updates in a year. Looks like it was set on automatic and abandoned.
I earned the badges I could earn. Time to move on.

I have played Sudoku for many years in different formats and I am really liking this format because of the way it eliminates the numbers from the board as you complete them. Auto complete was also a nice treat. The numbers are larger than most and the game is easier on these old eyes.

This game really testes your brain a lot. But when your not doing anything pull out your phone and play. OMG!!!!! THIS GAME IS THE BEST EVER… At ollies my mom told me I had to get something cristmas and there was nothing cristmas at all. But I found a sudoku book vol 1. But she wooden the let me get it because t wasn’t cristmas. So I found a app for sudoku and here I am writing about so good it is. Hope you get it. P.S it hardly has adds.

I have learned a lot playing this game. I NEVER thought I would like it! One small hitch: if you don’t pause the game—whether or not a puzzle is in play—if you leave SudokuClassicSudokuGames and come back later the game won’t reload. All I get is the empty grid and headings, etc. I can’t even utilize the back button. FYI, I’m playing on an iPad Pro (5th gen) running iOS 16.4.1 (a).

This sudoku easily and readily makes concepts appear in the player’s mind….concepts for deciding “the next solution concept” to apply.
There are unheard-of tricks that VERY FEW Sudoku Players know about, which not only work precisely well, but which also enrich the human mind (THINKING). I have been using Sudoku for that purpose, to discover more of these tricks.
The tricks I refer to emerge from a deep understanding of orthogonal arrays, which many game designers are little aware of. I chiefly use Sudoku as a “research laboratory”. It is the best Sudoku game on the Internet….for all of the above reasons.
One discovery is about the word “mistakes” — which is tracked by this company’s software. But what is a “mistake”? There are at least two kinds: one involves hitting a number to fill a blank square too quickly and carelessly. But the other so-called “mistake” is a “calculated risk”, which for me is often correct!
My fairly brief career with “orthogonal arrays” has taught me many lessons, which I may or may not reveal later.
This is the best Sudoku game available — if you really want to learn it well. It is, besides having other good features, a LEARNER’S game.

Never quite understood sudoku exceptions from other apps I have tried’ so found this version and found it didn’t take long to get to “expert” level. Hints do not seem to work, so still not learning any of the exceptions. However without hints and using the “3 strikes you’re out” not that difficult to complete, but great game to learn on your own.

This is by far my favorite sudoku ios app. They have incorporated so many setting options to customize game play. In particular the setting to lock input to one number so I can just tap on all the cells with that number, instead of having to select a cell first and then pick what number to input. I was shocked by how hard it is to find an app with this setting.

My single only issue is that I can’t figure out how to pay to remove ads. But I won’t remove a star for what is most likely user error. But devs please make it easier to remove ads, I would love to give you my money!

I enjoy Sudoku and have tried several games online. This seems to be the best I have found. There is one thing that I am curious about. I have won all the games I played but the game tells me I have ALMOST won 15 games. Either I have won them or I have not. The word ALMOST does not belong in the sentence. Could you please remove it? Thanks for a game that challenges my mind.

Pretty good game. Notes are automatically removed which I appreciate. Expert is not very challenging. Couldn’t figure out how to use hint. Instructions say just tap the light bulb but I tried it with the square where I wanted the hint, it didn’t work. Tried it with a filled in square selected, thinking I would get a random hint, it didn’t work.

They fixed the hint so I’m upgrading my review from 4 to 5 stars.

I love the way this game works. I know what kind of puzzle I’m dealing with. I know win I filled in other certain type a number like all the Sixers are used up because it spins and makes a cool little noise. I also get very tired of having to deal with a hard in expert puzzles. Unfortunately I don’t get that many just enough to keep it interesting. I really like this game. Thank you guys for putting it together.

wpuld be nice to have a level between medium and hard - med I solve all the time, a level up about 20%

Was able to get started & with only a few setting adjustments for my preferences, all without reading the user guide. Once I saw that pressing a square with a number in it highlighted all squares with the same number already filled, it makes it easier to see the board. Nice, simple app, with minimal amount of storage required for SudokuClassicSudokuGames .

Like the layout, hints and you can get extra plays by watching a video ad. Other ads are not intrusive so far. Will keep playing for now. Have been playing for a while and really like it. Medium is not too hard, love the strategy tutorials and the hints actually teach strategy. Would definitely recommend this version to others. Nice work, developers! Have been playing for a bit now and still stand by my earlier assessment.
Several months now playing and I really enjoy the game. Like the special challenges they have, usually monthly. Ads not annoying. Thank you!

This game is so great! I love the fact that there is no timer. The auto note filler is very handy too. I usually like filling my own hints but I do like the option. It is truly relaxing. I just happened up on it but it is definitely one of my favorite games. Also the ads are very tolerable.
