Inappropriate Advertisement

Yeah, so I just saw your ad on Facebook, and that’s NOT it. This game is rated 4+, yet you promote violence against women in the ad with the ex-husband kicking and pushing his ex-wife and forcing her to be away from her kids!!!! Even if this wasn’t rated 4+ it’s unacceptable, but your rating implies that KIDS can play this. Every game developer making ads like this need to be reported and I don’t know why y’all haven’t been stopped yet. If y’all have been reported, then whoever’s in charge of the reports is doing a terrible job and needs to be replaced with someone who actually wants to get on to y’all about these ads. Advertisements for games like this never used to be like that. You need people to play your game so bad that you create shock value ads like this that have nothing to do with what the gameplay is really like?! Y’all really stooped wayyyyy too in recent years just to get people to play your games.

GRAPHIC, VIOLENT, & AGE RATING 4+????

this game has an age rating of 4+ when it displays very graphic & violent content, especially in the ads. i’ve seen several different ads for this game and it’s either a woman and her child being beaten by her husband, women & children in distress, and in one ad i saw, a dog and her puppy(who was missing it’s back legs) standing on the side of the street when suddenly the momma dog runs out into the street and gets hit by a car. then, it shows the two-legged puppy crying over its mother’s bloody corpse. i saw these ads while playing Cats&Soup, a game that actually IS for children. the game developers who make these ads are very insensitive to children and people who are sensitive to such graphic content (such as myself, i’m autistic and VERY sensitive to graphic content and even go out of my way to avoid it) there are tons of other people who have been leaving reviews like mine from YEARS ago and still nothing has been done about it. these game developers are SICK, ABLEIST, and HAVE NO CARE FOR CHILDREN WHATSOEVER.

I liked this game.

The storyline is a bit to silly. The adults are way to juvenile so I have started skipping some of that. The puzzle part of this game was fun & I could progress easily enough sometimes after two or three tries. Honestly though the 20 to 23 moves on this is just not enough. It is taking me too many tries now & be aware if the game offers a bomb to help beat the level that bomb is coming from the players own stash. I understand the developer wants to make money 💰 however I am not on higher levels & already having issues progressing. Just not enough moves here. I’m about to take a hard pass on this one.
I tried one more time. I am at a level where I have 27 moves to knock off 64 cartons & 12 tiles. Really? Impossible to do unless I use all my accumulated pinwheels & bombs plus purchasing time. No I won’t purchase time for $9 & still not be able to get past this. Honestly if the player is skilled should be able to beat this without using any extras. Even if I get to the third panel the developer makes sure there are no matching symbols. It is so blatantly a cash grab. Even if the characters were interesting & they are not would I recommend this game. Like 12 year olds & their first crush.
Please be careful with this one folks. I don’t think I could beat this level if I spent $100. I won’t give them a nickel.

You people should be ashamed

I only down loaded GardenAffairs because it was the only way I could tell you what I think. I know you will remove my review but at least I had my say. The fact that all your ads do nothing but promote domestic violence is deplorable. You do realize that children see this right? You can not be that stupid. With everything going on in this world this is how you promote your hard work ? To move on to the game .....I played it for a while to no surprise to me it is a big money grabber. Not to mention the story line has nothing to do with you disgusting ads .... has been done over and over . I’m surprised GardenAffairs Store lets you run them. I hope you enjoy the money you are making if you weren’t being such scum bags I would appalled you

Misogynistic, Disturbing Violence Against Women AND CHILDREN! Not for Children!

I am not only a gamer, but a female as well as a stepmom to a great little lady. When I saw an ad for this game for the first time I thought I was mistaken by what I’d seen. The second time prompted me to write this.
Ads basically depict the same scenario and definitely send the same message. A mother while holding her newborn child is being beaten by her husband. The player must choose to stay with him and take it or leave with her child in the freezing snow. All subsequent choices after choosing to leave result in death.
If that wasn’t enough, I saw the rating; 4 years old and up. Now this kind of game is geared toward more female players. What message is this scenario supposed to be sending? And just how exactly is this scenario entertaining?
I was happy to know that the developers were only responsible for this one game. Shame on you for this. Games are not only for entertainment but for some, an escape or distraction from real life garbage. That was the case for me anyway and to see this in today’s climate was just heartbreaking.
This game is not accurately rated and should come with a trigger warning. Don’t give them any credit for this please- don’t download.
Stick with Candy Crush.

Too Expensive

The game is genuinely fun - until you look at your bank account and realize you spent $100 on the game because some levels are so hard you literally can’t do anything. I’ve played a ton of these style games and never have I had to purchase so much. Their extra powers are 3,500 gold coins. To buy that many gold coins it’s a $10-$15. They are the most expensive game, both in-game and in real world.

It’s honestly ridiculous how much it costs and how some levels are literally unbeatable without extra help. Like collect 70 grass things, find 20 bunnies, and do that in 17 moves. How 🙃 Literally how 🙂

This game is so fun that it’s incredibly frustrating to me that they make everything so expensive. Also, if you see ads about a poor girl and her 5 babies and a terrible ex who cheats on her and steals the babies - yeah, that’s not what this game is at all.

100% pay to win!

By the time you get to level 330, you will be out of coins and out of power ups, which they never give you any of them unless you pay. You will never beat level 330 unless you pay real money. Its actually insulting because they only give you 10 miserable moves on that level and it’s impossible to beat it unless you pay. I understand they need to make their money in order to keep doing updates and elevating the game, but the way developers are doing it its the most greedy and insulting way ive ever seen in any match 3 game. Only 10 moves? Really? Even though you can get additional seconds to help you out on that level, those seconds that you have to detonate are at the bottom of the board, so by the time you get to them you already be almost out of moves, so it’s worthless.
What’s sad about this is, this game has THE BEST match 3 board system. Runs smooth and its fast paced. I don’t think ive seen one this good. But unfortunately this is one of those greedy pay to win games and they aren’t even trying to hide it. It’s unfortunate because the story is good but im not a multimillionaire or a rich person to continuously throw money away on this games. Im not spending any more more on this. I guess i wont know how the story ends. Whoever came ip with this idea if forcing people to pay to continue playing, i hope the game cumbles and never becomes successful.

Terrible customer service

The game itself was fun while it lasted. After the last big update I lost over 40 pieces of mail. I messaged with ID and requested them back

1st I was told if you don’t open mail it expires after a time. Sorry. So I replied one piece of mail was from yesterday how is that not soon enough?

2nd reply we stopped sending out mail many updates ago so that’s why you don’t get mail anymore. Again, I got mail yesterday why would you say you stopped many updates ago?

3rd oh, sorry we goofed something so the update. Everyone lost all mail. We can’t recover it though, we can’t compensate for it either. You’re just out of luck and money spend to buy the lives that were in the mailbox.

I initiated a full chargeback (and waited to receive it before I posted this review) and deleted the game. I was over level 700 and very much enjoyed the game but the customer service department instantly killed it for me.

I do not advise this game for any one. The ads are total lies, this game is a very simple match 3 game nothing like the ads and the customer service department is horrible.

Boosters

This game started out great and was a refreshing storyline. Now you can’t even pass levels and no boosters are offered for completing the levels which you absolutely need. Why do we need to use 3 stars for 1 simple task? Also, the romance factor has died down. All they keep doing are planting more flowers and doing projects together. Getting very dull and boring and the storyline doesn’t advance quickly enough. You have to start giving out boosters to complete the levels. Otherwise this game is going by the wayside. Levels are too hard to pass!,, I finally deleted the I keep retrying this game with all of the new updates. You still need to offer more time to complete each puzzle level. Also, no great storyline. Gets boring. Have her house with new rooms to decorate and fix the town store by store as in the beginning. Fix the town up or something exciting to do. Other players feel the same way about the difficulty of the levels. We play these games not to be annoyed and frustrated but for enjoyment. I play match 3 games constantly so I really don’t need hint lessons. I deleted the game because you responses to reviews are ridiculous and not about updating any changes accordingly. Lastly, I agree with the disgusting advertising. Abuse isn’t something you should be showing for any reason but especially to play a This new update doesn’t change the complexity of the levels. Just more of the same.

Good game, but why are you advertising it like this?

The game itself is funny and cute so far (I only started today), but some of the ads for it are disgusting. Earlier today, I saw a particularly ugly ad with a husband beating his wife and kids and then kicking a dog. At the end of the ad, the game was called “Garden Affairs: Why She Kills.” None of this is appropriate for a game rated ages 4+, and the game description doesn’t mention domestic violence or any kind of murder mystery. Even the game icon doesn’t match the actual game. (If you want to advertise a game like that, I suggest you make a different game and label it as being for older audiences.) I also think the flames over the characters’ heads when they get mad are a little bit much. But I do appreciate that they appear over the guys’ heads as well as the girls’ (thank you for not keeping up the “angry woman” stereotype!).

Cute but corny story, but too stingy on earning stars

I understand GardenAffairs developers want to make $, but the game is so slow as you only earn 1-2 stars per game (and sometimes it takes multiple times to play the same level) who has that much time in a day to play an app?! And each time you use stars to progress the story line, it takes 2-4 stars!! So you spend about 1-1.5 hours a day to move the storyline just a little… I paid about $5 to buy booster packs, but they don’t help much.. so sad, as I’d like the game otherwise.

Suggestion to GardenAffairs developers: either lower the star amount to progress in the game, or offer more star rewards on hard levels or add stars to paid booster packs. GardenScapes offers ingame 3-5 star rewards and got me paying like $10+ a month for booster packs… so, you may earn more $ if you get users more interested & having fun with your game and following the storyline.

Cute game / impossible levels

The game is super cute, i started to play a few weeks ago, loved the levels and the game play but then it started to get hard (which is great, i love a challenge) but i’ve been on the same freaking level for days now, and what seemed like a hard level is now a level that is unbeatable without some sort of booster and the boosters aren’t cheap and once you’ve hit a block there’s no playing the game until the level is beaten and i’m just frustrated that i can’t even play the game for days because of this one level that is leaving me angrier than when i was playing the game. so with that i’m going to have to just delete the game so i don’t keep wasting my time & money to beat this level.

Frankly

I love this game! I can play it for hours….which leads me to one complaint….to get more lives you have to either badger your teammates constantly or buy coins which are too expensive imo…I had to take my card off my account so as not to keep being tempted….and the prices just went up! Sure I can buy the daily offers which are less expensive and I love the “freebies” but for as much as one can play this game, it can be very costly. Also, for new players, the “hints” aren’t that helpful…. I’ll continue to play because this game is awesome, but I think prices for more lives and “tools” should be reconsidered or at least not have the “play on” and “tools” cost 900 coins to start.

Please lose the silly fake ads

This is a great game. I played it when it first came out but got rid of it when the levels got difficult but the amount of moves didn’t increase.
I’m glad I gave it another try. Game play is faster, and levels seem more fair. The main character has some different looks now, and I like that.
I’m just sad that the icon has the same silly fake sad drama like other games in this genre. You have a good solid game, you don’t need to have these silly fake dramas! If you want to stand out, use a happy cheerful picture instead. I’m so tired of all these cheated on, left to freeze with a baby images of heroines. It seems dishonest to me, because it looks like a story is being advertised that is not actually encountered during regular gameplay.
I do appreciate that the developers have improved the game. I enjoy playing it, it’s a charming and pleasant game. I wonder if others would appreciate a more cheerful image on their device as well?

Addictive but sorta sets you up

This game is surely addictive. It’s fun and I do love playing it. It gets harder and harder and that is challenging but challenging is good and fun! My only real complaint about it is I never have been one to buy in app purchases for anything ever! I have bought some in this game ( addictive and you just can’t give up. Sorta bends your arm different ways til you do so lol) jk. No but seriously, you want to keep going. Well I’m the Provo of each time I have bought in app purchases I have been having issues since first time. I get double charged or it didn’t add to my balance so I try it again and I will see more than one charge;yet GardenAffairs acts as if only the one purchase bought will load, I also have had where, multiple times I buy one package and I’m charged on more than one act from my wallet iv yet to be refunded anything or gifted nicely gifted. I would use it anyways. I’m committed but now broke and am going to have to cut back on playing. You allot need the booster/power ups an extra move for many levels.

Almost perfect, one recent bug.

I love almost everything about this game - it’s absolutely feasible to be able to make progress without paying. There aren’t a bunch of random ads cluttering your playing experience, and I love the feature where the game offers extra turns the more you struggle with a level. However, with the last couple of releases there’s been a bug where the game freezes after viewing an extra turn advertisement which forces you to exit GardenAffairs and restart, thereby erasing your progress that round. Please fix this bug!!!!!

Best renovating game ever!!!

There just are not enough good gardening match three games with a good story line. About time they got another one out. And I’m LOVEN the graphics!!! The plot is also great. And the additional design spots besides the main house are individual episodes like most remodeling games. So this game combines a mansion and huge garden renovating and individual renovation jobs all in one. Also the episodes aren’t events so there are no time limits to them.

This game really combines the best qualities of all the remodeling games I have ever played. And the fact that it is garden themed is a huge plus for all the flower lovers out there.

Beautiful designs to choose!

I’ve played many “choose the design” match games, and this game is my favorite! I love how some design choices allow you to change multiple things (when replacing the sofa, you also add a chair; when planting flowers on the front lawn, you plant flowers in multiple areas). The customization options are lovely. The side tasks are fun! The story line is real and engaging. The graphics are crisp. I’ve only had this game for a few days, and I’m only 30 levels in, but I see myself keeping this one installed!

super addicting!

i recently discovered this game from a beautifully animated ad on instagram, and i’ve become attached to it. not just because i’m a sucker for match 3 games, but also the graphics and art style are pleasing to look at (i can tell a lot of effort was put into the different little animations and portraits of the characters!), there’s an interesting and fun story to follow along with, and the levels are fun and relatively easy to complete. even if it’s a hard or super hard level, it’s not impossible, and i can beat it after a few tries with a stroke of luck. like i said before, the graphics for this game are beautiful; a lot of thought was put into each renovation you do and allows you to pick and choose from various different styles to create your perfect image. normally i’d be frustrated with games where you have to beat levels in order to gain enough points to progress because the levels are too hard to beat, but along with the in-game groups mechanic of requesting lives without having to redirect to a third-party app such as facebook, and occasionally receiving infinite lives for an allotted amount of time from an event, the levels are not impossible to beat given enough tries and luck. overall i really enjoy this game! well done!

Best match 3 game!

I played many matching 3 games over the years. This one made me abandon all the others. It REALLY cares about user experience. Super fast speed (thank you for valuing users’ time), satisfying combos, and pretty graphics. Triple win for me. It also allows you to choose when to claim rewards, so you could combine them! Extra unlimited lives are sent to mailbox! I don’t need to think about when to play the game to maximize the utilization of rewards anymore. Everything they did is so considerate. Good job developers!
