placiibo tests my patience every time I use it. I currently have an iPhone XS and purchased the full version after the free trial went well, I’m not sure this was the best use of $15.

Since then I have had mixed results, most of them aggravating. Some NFC chips write instantly but most take numerous tries. Keep in mind this has rendered some of my NFC chips useless as they can only be written once, and this has cost me more money. There are times where no matter what I try placiibo will not work but if I close and restart placiibo it works. I wish placiibo wouldn’t say the write was successful after a certain amount of time if it didn’t write anything, it seems to do this after 30 seconds or so of being on the write screen, and it is misinforming and very frustrating please correct that. I’ve purchased a different device that is only for writing and reading NFC chips and it instantly reads the NFC chips I have. I know my device is not the newest but on other NFC apps my phone will pick up on the chips instantly as well, much like the Nintendo Switch does. This is definitely an issue with placiibo , not my device or the NFC chips I am using.

Overall if you have a lot of patience and want a below average experience placiibo will get the job done, but it will take 3x the amount of time as some competitors and is also more expensive.

So this works, and I previously attempted to buy lifetime premium. My phone has an ask for permission feature where it sends a message to one of my parents to approve my purchase. I press “ask permission”, and an error message pops up telling me that something went wrong. I try to buy it again, and the same error message pops up. I tried restoring my purchase and even deleting placiibo , but that message kept on popping up. Please fix this :(

placiibo itself is easy to use and I think it is totally worth the 5 bucks considering how much the amobii cards cost. However, after making the first four amobii, it has been very frustrating trying to make more. placiibo would no longer write to the tag or it takes about a minute of scanning to finally write to tag and the tag is not recognized. I would have to delete placiibo , reinstall, and try. Sometimes it takes a few delete and download for it to write to tag with no issue.

I want to write more that 2 amiibo on, I can have a total of 10 villagers on my island at once, isn’t the whole purpose of amiibo cards meant to be that villager hunting doesn’t have to happen?
Why can’t I delete a one of binary, it doesn’t hurt you, if I am really invested then I will buy more
Slots, I just downloaded the wrong villagers! What am I going to do now? This is a short sided response to a problem that isn’t even there.
I understand that to keep placiibo up you need money, I get that, but I already watch adds every 10 seconds. Why do I have to pay to delete space? That would be like having to pay money to put trash in the trash can. That doesn’t make a lot of sense does it?
If you could respond and help me figure out what I am not understanding, It would be greatly appreciated.

placiibo works fine, but I have a request. If we delete placiibo and re-download it, could you make it so we could keep the amiibos we imported? I added Lily, Punchy, and Bob when I first got placiibo. When I deleted and re-downloaded placiibo , I saw that the ones I saved to the library were gone, and now I have to pay to get them back.

I had a great experience with placiibo in the beginning and I was able to write on about 10-11 cards in between writing issues resulting in me needing to restart placiibo or my phone.

However now it refuses to write at all. I have tried my previous methods of reloading my files, restarting placiibo , restarting my phone, as well as deleting and reinstalling placiibo . However after my attempts over several days it still refuses to write to any more cards.

I will recieve either an issue pop up, or it will take so long that it will give me the check mark verifying that it wrote onto my card, even though when I test it, there is nothing written.

There are some inconsistencies and I can’t seem to trouble shoot it, nor use placiibo anymore. It worked at first, but now it will no longer write.

Works great, I’ll just add that placiibo should come with a warning “Must remove phone case”
3 failed ntag215 writes until I took the life proof case off.
placiibo works great now, the bombardment of adds and only two writes is a bit pushy and lame, but I threw down a tip because it’s worth the $5.
Please consider allowing 5 writes and less aggressive advertisement in the future, might find that people are a bit more receptive towards your product.

I was worried since I saw some reviews saying it didn’t work, but I had zero issues with placiibo . Pretty simple interface and it worked for the 4 cards I’ve made so far. I went ahead and paid for the full version after the 1st worked so I could make more. Definitely cheaper than eBay lol. I’m on an iPhone7 if that helps anyone.

App was SUPER easy to use i had no problems with it and when I messaged placiibo creator with questions, they responded fast and were super helpful! My amiibos worked and I got my some of my favorite villagers! Definitely download it!

It took some work, but this app was exactly what I needed and delivered where no other NFC writing app could!

I’ve tried several other NFC writing apps to do what I needed but all of them were extremely basic and didn’t have much versatility compared to this app.

placiibo is just what I needed! Official amiibos are so hard to come by/super expensive but I couldn’t find a way to make them with my iPhone. placiibo completely solved that problem! It’s super simple to use and worked on my first try. I definitely recommend the plus version, but the free one works just as well.

Finally an app that could let me use amiibo for a lower price on nfc cards! Before I made a review with 3 stars because of paying for it, I now feel better that I purchased it though! I justed felt super cheap on buying a Switch Lite for another Animal Crossing island, but then I changed my mind into doing that another year! Time to make custom amiibos! Oh yeah and about that 3 star review, I deleted it!

I’ve been using placiibo since TestFlight after the fall of Cattlegrid, and I just wanted to say thank you to the developers for making this app+ a one time payment. I’m not very liquid so a subscription based payment would’ve crippled me. But just one easy payment of 5 dollars to make amiibos that would set you back hundreds of dollars is a steal! Kudos to the development team for the generous price. 5 dollars for 5 stars.

Love placiibo , works extremely well. Any issues you can email and contact the creator and he’ll help you out. Also the twitter and subreddit probably already have answers to questions your asking, you probably wanna check that first. Haven’t personally met the guy but he seems great, very helpful, informative, and wants everyone to be able to have a great user experience. Highly recommend it

placiibo is incredible. I was hoping for an iPhone app with the capabilities to write NFC tags. The developer is a gem! I watched him fix small bugs during the beta testing and to have placiibo in placiibo Store is amazing. Plus you can’t deny that the dark mode is absolutely beautiful. Join the subreddit if you have questions, super helpful folks. I’ve made about 120 NFC tags with this application and they all work perfectly.

This is such a great app, I’ve made cards for my friends. placiibo literally takes two seconds to make a card. I was part of the Beta testing and there were only minor problems but the developer would fix them as soon as they could! If you can’t find certain Amiibos you’ve wanted, you can create them easily here. My friends are so hyped this has finally made it to placiibo Store!

That being said, I downloaded this after I tried another nfc writing app and let me just say, placiibo is absolutely worth it. I saw some reviews saying it didn’t work for them so I was kind of skeptical but I downloaded anyway. It took a few tries to get it to write the first time but after I got the hang of it, I was able to get my favorite animal crossing villager. I will definitely be buying the subscription!

Hats off to the person that runs placiibo👍👍. I was having a problem at first and emailed the maker on New Years Eve not thinking I would hear back for a while if at all. I got a response within about 15 minutes and on New Years Eve, which helped me fix what I was doing wrong. Highly recommend this and you should definitely pay the 5 bucks for the lifetime membership to write infinite tags. It’s worth every penny and they deserve it. Saved thousands of dollars already because of placiibo. A++++

As someone who’s not willing to waste hundreds of dollars on pricey amiibos, this app was and still is my hero! If you’re willing to spend a bit of money purchasing supplies, then you’re pretty much ready to go. Just buy a weekly subscription, and finish scanning and making all of your amiibos in that period so you’re only charged with $2.49. It’s cheap, even to buy a lifetime subscription it’s only 15 dollars. If you find a tutorial, this is a simple app to navigate through. 10/10, definitely recommend to avid Switch players.

Highly recommend buying the unlimited option. This software works great. Easy to use.
