Pokémon Balancing

I loved this game I really did but after the May 1st update my main Hoopa, might as well be an actual Hula-Hoop because it’s no longer able to compete even with Teammates it’s not always easy to support especially when you’ve made it so squishy and reduced damage I can’t even much stay alive in one on one situations and for a Sp Atk am definitely out Sped even for pokémon with other main attributes and in Regards to its buff trick I can’t even use it as a shield as it lasts what feel like less than a second and there’s no health regeneration after to compensate so having it reduced really made the move quite useless when you’re by yourself and it’s basic move only targets one pokémon at a time, so while everyone’s level 4 and 5 i’m barely half way through level 3, how much more can you really nerf it you’ve made it primarily a single attack pokémon with no aoe and then diminished its damage so while i’m here struggling to fight another… support… pokémon… getting my points handed to me left and right just so I can die when another pokémon entered the screen even with potion magician standing on the goal and trick i’m barely able to defend against two people on my goal and let’s face it no one will stay enough for the low up fights where Hoopa can really shine, and that’s in regards to teammates, please fix this pokémon I really enjoyed maining it, I don’t even play mobile games or write reviews, so please fix this pokémon and I know you’re working hard to balance the game already but Hoopa was honestly fine as was, if anything lackluster before, now it’s Some Hope earrings on a floating mannequin

Needs Improvements

1.) Y’all messing with the license prices too much man, at least increase weekly coin cap to 3100 and add more ways to earn coins to keep up with these 14k Pokémon licenses. 2.) Very bad matchmaking; how y’all gonna team me up with players that are level 20- at the start of season resets? I’ve been going up 1 game, then down again, and playing this idiotic cycle of losing and winning for almost a week now. It has only lowered me from where I started on season reset! It’s INSANE! PLEASE fix matchmaking, I do not want to see myself quitting this game because of these noobish players that don’t know how to cooperate with me or play with people at my level (Lvl. 30-40+). Also, giving us fair-play points to make up for other teammates idling during matches isn’t fair (in the ranks before master), so please switch that up too. 3.) There also needs to be more F2P content in the stores, like more uses for the fashion exchange tickets (I have almost 2k) and more Pokémon holowear to purchase with the holowear tickets. I’ve been supporting and buying from the game since Switch release, but I’ve never felt so frustrated with the game before, so please do something about it all. Minor Suggestions: 1.) Make owned items/holowears/stickers/etc. appear before the unowned items in your inventories. 2.) I know Nintendo might make it difficult, but please allow, at least, the 13+ (or older) people to chat freely anywhere and use voice chat. There can also be chat filters/censorship to make it more kid-friendly.

A Little Lacking

A very VERY fun Leage of Legends styled game٫ though it's missing a lot of features that could really flesh out the experience and add some complexity. •Controller Support- While movement isn't the most important of this game٫ it could really benefit with controller support allowing players who chose to use them a more confortable method of manueverability. Ideally controls would be customizable. •Guarding/Dodging- Something akin to Pokken Tournament's guarding system or any guarding system at all can really change how people play. Maybe guarding provides invincibility to normal attacks but gets shattered by Sp. Attacks. Or maybe a guard can only be activated breifly٫ giving near invincibility immediately after it used and getting weaker after just a couple milliseconds before dispersing. "Flash Guarding" Or somethin' like that--keeps players from holding defense and promotes timing the move to the opponent's use of their specials. Furthermore٫ something like dodging can offer a bit of defensive mobility٫ offering intangibility in place of speed.
There are also MASSIVE connectivity issues. The game insists that my connection is poor despite being several feet away from my modem or despite my using data. I lag near unbearably in almost every game I'm in regardless of whether I'm using my wifi٫ data٫ or anyone else. PLEASE make playing online smoother.

Refreshing with some issues

I for one love how this game works along with the idea about it. I enjoy playing it and have even been addicted to it at times. I do however have a few issues to address. For one certain characters need tinkered with. Not too much but enough to make them fit their role or to not be overpowered. Garchomp(a character ive been testing and trying to play) is an example of this. From my experience with garchomp, it seems to exel in 1 on 1 situations but less so in grouped combat; however, it can still be outmatched in literally everything else from my experience. There are also pokemon that seem to have ridiculously high cc compared to others. Wigglytuff for example is a prime candidate from my experience. From memory i believe i was stunned or asleep for a whopping 4-5 seconds straight which might not seem like much, but is enough to at least almost destroy anything without even getting the chance to react. Ive found more examples of this from pokemon like sylveon, venasaur, or maybe even lucario from time to time, but i havent played against them enough for it to mean anything. There is also the issue with zapdos. I see the idea behind it and also like the idea, but it kinda makes it an all or nothig type of gameplay. For example, my team had 4 more of those goal thingies compared to our enemy(it was a really one sided battle), but they got lucky with zapdos and somehow won the match as if any if the work put into the match erlier didnt even matter. Could use being looked at. Other than that i hope there are minor patches and tweaks along the way, and look forward to seeing further development!

Still unbalanced…

The game may have received heavy cosmetic changes, bug fixes, and other patches but the one thing I feel isn’t being properly addressed is how unbalanced the game is. First you are paired in Expert League with people who play as though they were in Beginner League. How do players of that skill level manage to get to Expert and they play how they play? Then more times than not you face against others who should be in the same League as you but some how feel as though they are 1 to 2 Leagues higher. Regardless, it’s pretty bad when your wins are out weighted by your losses more times than not in ranked. Fun game so far but if that is how ranked game play is going to be moving forward I might as well not continue to play because I will only experience more stress than fun at the end of the day. I’m the type of gamer that likes to enjoy every aspect of a game, not just little bits and parts. After all, even if you don’t pay a dime of earned money to play your time still has value and is still an investment in itself, so the game is still technically costing you something. I’ve been a supporter of this Franchise since 96 and have enjoyed almost every aspect of it down to the cards themselves. I want this game to work and I want to enjoy it. Show me that this game can be worth my time Pokemon Company. Let’s start improving on the balancing.

Needs some adjustments

Game is good. But after playing this for a few months there are things that need improvements on. 1) Chat system needs to be more accessible besides just the brief moment before match matching. There needs to be more communication options, or chat abilities besides microphone within the game and after. To players during and after the game. This is the number one frustration I faced along with all the friends I’ve invited to play. Game feels too claustrophobic with the limited chat abilities you have. Even chatting to friends in text is ignored because it’s so hidden away. Make it more pop. There’s just too many steps to go through to even chat with players. 2) There needs to be more information displayed after the game ends. Honor system, chat abilities (again), ability to see other players ranks on the spot besides needing to go into individual matches and checking individually. That’s hugely inefficient. 3) Bots. Addressed enough but understandable. However it gets boring. 4) Game feels too confined. There should be more UI buttons that make it more accessible to address chat, profile checking, and more open access issues listed above instead of these event buttons and gifts and whatnot, that don’t matter. Otherwise game has so much potential but feels lackluster and unrewarding to play. I play less and less because it just feels like I’m playing by myself.

Fun then stressful

The game is beautiful, from the graphics in-game to the menu, the play style is very fun and gung-ho at first showing if you pick the right character, you can just bulldoze in standard. Then you unlock rank, and from the beginner rank to great-expert it gets very stressful. You’ll blame all kinds of things from the fact you can’t actually talk, your teammates are all focusing on one path in the first 5 minutes of the game, the skill gap, or even the age gap. I’m really competitive, and if you are too then I suggest you don’t play this game. It was enjoyable for the first three days then when I reached great class 3 I started to notice the big difference in how team oriented the teams aren’t. There’s no taking turns when it comes to character selection, so good luck if you’re playing a fan favorite Pokémon. No one will call the paths their taking leading to disorientation. The leveling system in-game is very shot and good luck if you have feeders on your team (teammates that will just kamikaze and level up your opponents). The respawn time is far too quick not leaving you enough time to score meaningful goals if you wipe the enemies on your path because they just come back 5 seconds later it seems. I really hope this game goes into the right direction because I really did enjoy it, but as for now it’s not enjoyable for anyone that wants to go competitive in it.

issues regarding this game..

i must say i absolutely adore this game and everything about it, but there is this ONE issue i am having. i don’t understand why it would be necessary to add something of a “strike” in the game. like there are many many reasons for why i could be on idle. for an example, i’m busy finishing my work and then i forget that i’m playing the game. it’s not fair to take strikes and automatically assuming i’m cheating. i think there should be some kind of button that’s for afk or something like that. it needs to be remembered not everyone cheats. but overall i love the game i just wished this “strike system” is taken off in the nearby future :’)

EDIT: i am gonna come back, each time this games gives me a rage of how unorganized it is. first of all i believe that there should be a correction in the controls, it lacks way too much. and another is when my wifi is red, when my wifi is literally so good?? and then i just start connecting and then i reconnect and i’m dead. that is such a unfair advantage. another would be actually making a proper messaging, so we i can’t be like “i’m going to the central area!” when i actually mean “charizard, go to the center with me” can there be an actual proper messaging where i can tell someone instructions? another problem would be allowing to kick someone. sometimes people are actually so uncooperative, which leads me to lose. finally, actually adding certain levels for different players like newers and experts. it is so unfair to put a team of new people and experts against each other. please fix these problems :(

Dear Pokémon unite team

I’ll start with the bad because I don’t want you to just read the beginning and be like oh he thinks the game is amazing case close pack up boys. 1 Your game is unique but it doesn’t feel fulfilling each match because there’s a congestion of Pokémon that are over played and playing against yourself on the enemy team is in rewarding during ranked. A draft pick would address this issue 2 your game has a huge surplus of bots and I get it the game is new you have to have competition to establish a player base but there’s a limit. When there’s a huge surplus of bots vs players being on the bots side or playing against the bot feels lack luster and makes the replay-ability boring and causes a loss players sticking with the game. But on a good note your game has huge potential and is growing because the fabs of Pokémon believe in you adding more Pokémon showing the players that you care through balance changes( as a gengar main) he’s over tuned. His kit is amazing and has a good learning curve. But deals to much damage (Frogadier) does legitimately everything. Your game is growing and will continue to grow unless the updates stop. But I don’t foresee that happening. All in all as a moba fan this is a 3 out of 5 because the game is still developing and I don’t want to rate it off potential but at the current state of the game. I will post again as future updates occur.

The same bug has reappeared and it’s BAD.

I love this game and left a very wrong review and almost immediately an update came out and fixed this for a long while but in the latest update it’s back. I’ve got a new iPhone 12, with the best data I could get through Verizon so I Know it’s not me or my internet. So the bug is ill just be playing then randomly bill start reconnecting or my screen will freeze for about 6-7 seconds and my absol, or any Pokémon I’ve tried will just run forward with no control, I have tried playing but it happens so frequently that it’s legitimately made me lose a game because I froze before scoring max on the last boss bonus, this 100 score would’ve set us ahead and won, but I froze and just ran forward into there spawn. It’s seriously unplayable. I left a game, which I NEVER do because I only play ranked, just to make this comment. Please PLEASE fix this. I love this game and I’m very competitive and I seriously can’t play a single match. It happens like every 30-40 seconds. Thank you, also matchmaking with the same class after expert is so hard, why? I seem to friend people from games that I play with and I’m expert class 2 at the moment and the people I’m adding are great class 3,4 one masters and one expert same class.
Again thank you for your time. Please fix

Fair play points

I like the game a lot, but it is really annoying when you have to go afk, like if your parents call you to do something or you suddenly have to go somewhere and turn off your phone. Also if you have parental restrictions that take away/block your apps (*cough cough* OurPact) then it’ll still count for being idle in battle. I mean, I don’t personally decide to put down my phone and choose to do nothing. I recently had to go idle because my dad called me to help him grab something, and I was away just long enough for it to count as being idle in battle and take away 5 fair play points. These deducted points got me down to below 70 points, so I couldn’t switch from standard battles to other things like ranked and custom. I can never win standard battles, so this is especially irritating for me. I’m pretty sure the only reason for this is to make sure people don’t cheat or hack in games, because being idle is kind of a stupid reason to deduct points. Most times, we don’t have any choice, and if you go idle just out of spite to be a jerk, then your not benefiting yourself either, so most people don’t go idle on purpose to annoy others. So my suggestion is to get rid of the fair play point system and ban the people that actually hack and cheat and stuff. Other than that, I do really like the game.

Great game for mobile!!! If only…

First, I must say that I’m a huge fan of the game. I mainly play ranked on the switch so this review is coming from a console player as it’s where I started off. Also, when I do play on mobile I play on an iPhone 12 Pro. What can I say about the mobile version of the game? Well, this game runs super smooth on my phone, better than on my switch. The graphics quality looks better and the UI feels great to click as a mobile player, some may say they play better on their phone which I do understand. My one and only gripe with this game on mobile is how in the world controller support isn’t supported on mobile. And I’m not talking about going through some extra steps to be able to use your controller, but standard controller support. If I’m playing with players cross platform shouldn’t I be able to play whichever way I want? As I understand some other MOBA games on mobile don’t support controllers as well, pokemon unite shouldn’t be compared as the game is literally CROSS PLATFORM. If standard controller support was allowed I would happily play this game way more often on my phone as I own a backbone. Besides this, I understand what everyone else’s gripe about the game is such as zapdos and other objectives is fatal to the game, teammates not coordinating enough or not having a wider range of communication with your team. Other Pokémon being way more overpowered than others, etc. I have adjusted to these quirks of the game as I’ve spent over 500 hours playing this game overall. Please release controller support so I can review this game with 5 stars as its currently my favorite game to play, thanks!

Really Fun Game!

I really love this game it’s extremely entertaining and fun, but there are a few things I would like to address. First of all if you love good graphics. I think this game has really nice graphics and cool maps you battle on. Second is actually pretty big and annoying for me. I HATE how some Pokémon’s outfits cost an in game currency called Aeus gems. Which you can only buy with REAL MONEY. So I have a Pokémon called Cinderace and you CAN’T buy it an outfit for him because it costs real money. It is super tempting to buy the gems. So keep this in mind if you have a young kid. Third is not bad at all I just want to address it. So it IS and online game so you do play WITH REAL PLAYERS. There is a microphone button so you can hear and talk to your teammates, but you CAN turn it off. So yet again if you have a young kid be sure to turn that off. You can type messages to your friends also. I recommend ages 8 and up just because if you leave it mid battle it WILL take points away. To where you can’t play and online battles. (Keep in mind that you can always gain points back again if you battle fairly) And because you NEED TO KNOW how to play. It is very annoying to play with people who have no idea how to play! It is super fun and I love all the new Eeveelutions they put in it. It is a awesome game you don’t want to miss!

Great game with a few issues

I’d like to start off by saying this game is extremely fun and I do enjoy playing it and I’ve evangelized my friends into it as well. In season one I shot up to masters 1800 so I don believe I have a decent understanding of the nuances and complexities of this game. The game is intuitive and easy to pick up though I do think it’s no truly optimized for mobile, and the cast of characters are ‘t just the extremely popular Pokemon more fringe ones do appear. The playstyles can feel a bit samey but the diverging move paths help with that. I’d like to preface this next statement by saying that the team behind this game has worked to fix this issue but the attempts are lackluster and halfhearted. The game suffers from the problem of Pay 2 Win elements, in the case of pokemon unite it isn’t egregious or even apparent in many cases but the element of item upgrading as well as the recently added boost emblem rolling can be accelerated through payment allowing players to have a stark advantage over others, as you play more of the game these issues balance out but if you pick up new pokemon that need new items this issue can arise again. Overall it’s a fun game with a dev team that brings fresh and interesting features all the time but be aware that you may find it slightly unfair once you get moved from bot matches to real lobbies

Truly Astonishing Potential

This is, quite simply put, a very fun game. It feels “League of Legends” or even “Splatoon” adjacent sometimes. I am not necessarily a long-time enjoyer of Pokémon, but after recently getting into the series, this is a breath of fresh air to Pokémon’s usual capture-and-battle formula while still keeping the battle and competitive components in tact. It’s not perfect, though. On my mobile device, this game experiences heavy lag even when I am in a spot of good connection. It runs just fine on my Nintendo Switch, but the button configurations take some getting used to and I wish I could play reliably on both platforms. The servers need some stabilization to fix this issue. Before adding more cosmetics and Pokémon options, I ask that the base game get a thorough review to work out some of the minor issues (balance being another, and possibly more text chat options with the amount of players who chose not to use voice chat). Overall, as the title says, this game has astonishing potential. Again, it is very fun! I would love to see more game modes in the future, like a last man standing team knockout, or even a soccer type game. The regular matches seem a bit long to me, but my team has often went from a deep loss to an impressive victory in the last few minutes, so I can’t say too much else about that. The gameplay - when not lagging - is engaging. I do recommend this game! The Pokémon you get for free are very fun to play, and you can buy another of your choice within a few days after welcome gifts are awarded. I also look forward to seeing what more this game will become!

If you have a switch download it there. For the switch you shouldn't make Zeroara still possible to get! I thought it was a release gift. But nerf Tsareena, Talonflame, Charizard, and Decidgueye. Charizard can just sit there and flamethrower you while you can't move, Tsareena can do half your health without being hurt (same for Talonflame) and Decidgueye just does to much damage. Also make more skins for Cinderace. Or at least bring pirate skin back for mobile and switch. I don't play mobile but I don't have problems on my Switch. Just one time I think in a game I was playing bots because they destroyed us but otherwise it is good. Nerf Pikachu also electro ball is op. Also the Articuno battle can really change the tide. I like that. One game we were losing and then we won by like, 5 because of Articuno. I find that very useful. Also nerf Alolan Ninetales because it shouldn't be able to attack you when you are frozen I mean that is just cheese. On my Switch I have not found any bugs other than where when you are fighting near a wild Pokémon you may hit it instead of the enemy. I do recommend though for competitive people. But ranked will make you scream because of all the op Pokémon. So don't be one of those people who do so much damage in one move. I like Cinderace because you can attack from a distance (meaning you won't take as much damage) and it deals a decent amount of damage to Articuno which is nice. But make it so that on the Articuno battle whichever team did the most damage takes it, specially for Drednaw and Rotom. People just sit there and let you do the work. Then they do the last hit. Really makes you want to scream. Anyways, thanks if you read this and sorry it was long.

This game is awesome! I do have some issues though. 💖💖

First of all, Lucario’s evolution is missing. If Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur have to evolve, why doesn’t he? Riolu is the evolution for Lucario, but yet he doesn’t show up. 2. The characters are balanced okay, but if I am being honest, Pikachu is terribly overpowered. Every time I eat the yellow fruits near the enemy goals, if a pikachu is in the game, he one-shots me at full health, and I get eliminated. 3. My favorite evolution line is Eevee, so for somebody like me, I can’t do without all of them. This game is lovely, but it’s missing Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon altogether. Like I said, I love Eevee, but it’s just hard for me to feel natural when some are missing. 4. I can never obtain the currency used to buy Outifts that isn’t tickets, and I can’t buy them. I feel like that currency should not exist. If the only way you can get them ( That I know of ) is with real money, I don’t think they should be in the game. Perhaps make them able to get with events and Unite battles, then I would drop the idea of removing them all together. I really want all of the eeveelutions Unite licenses, and the outfits, so Please make this more possible, without having to use money for a online currency. Thank you for reading this and have a good day, God bless you :)

Please fix your matchmaking

This game is ten out of ten and is great. Just matchmaking is way to unfair also losing one game in a row makes you play with bots which is annoying but I wanna talk about matchmaking. The thing is is that there is no actual determining on which ranks get played or not. Basically I just barely got into veteran all my team is veteran 1 or 2, while the enemy team is like veteran 5 or maybe even ultra, it tells that way because i have low ranked teamsters that I like to say don’t know what a Pokémon is but they just don’t know the concept of the game, unlike my opponents. Also I think it’s extremely unfair if your solo queuing and a random 5 man, (team of 5) shows up and destroys your team because they have coordination. I know that this is definitely not the games fault and just the fact that the game is trying to match make with other players of the same rank but I mean, it would be nice to not get 5 maned in solo queue. The last thing is that different ranked players should not be able to play with each other. I think that it’s dumb because you’ll have like your professional big brother playing with his younger brother who doesn’t know what the A button does. Like I mean this is what casual is for, not ranked. But ya this game is great and I really hope that you will fix matchmaking.

Great Game but small Improvements can be Made

The game is amazing but there are some features that I’d like to see. Firstly, this is already a thing but during bot matches (matches where everyone else is a bot) you can choose a pokemon. But if that pokemon is recommended for a lane but you choose to go jungle (middle lane) a bot will still go to the jungle. I would like to see a change so that the bots will never go which lane you choose to go even if your pokemon is not recommended there. Second, I would like to see an option in the menu to choose held items and battle items for a pokemon as well as a personal emblem set for each one since you can only currently have 3 and I usually end up forgetting to switch when I play a different pokemon. It would be great if you could make specific emblems for each specific pokemom. Lastly, I would like to be able to choose from multiple builds when I make a pokemon such as Pikachu having 3 different builds where you can personalize items for which type of game style you would like to play that round. Also, I know the game is supposed to make money but there is just such a limited amount of skins and cosmetics for holowear tickets and fashion tickets, maybe they could be exchanged for other currencies or add more cosmetics for those to use. Thank You.
