2nd Edit: After I’m FINALLY able to finish the book I’ve been on for over 2 weeks I’ll definitely be deleting Kiss . I won’t be recommending it to anyone either.
Edit: Now y’all took away the rewards we can earn?! Not everyone can afford to pay to get coins to read your books. Now you just made it more difficult to enjoy Kiss . BTW, I’m still on the same book I was on when I first rated Kiss . Now it’s going to be even longer before I can finish. Dropping the rating I originally gave. You have to wait DAYS until you’re able to read one more chapter. Not a fan of how long it takes to earn rewards. I’d be very willing to change my rating of Kiss if I had more opportunities to earn rewards or if the chapters took less rewards. As it stands it’s going to be MONTHS before I can finish the book I’m on. Which is annoying, because I can’t just quit reading it.

I have one chapter left of the book I’m reading, then I’m deleting Kiss immediately.

I’d been getting the free coins from the daily check ins and the reading rewards, but the amount given for these things recently changed, giving you less than half the amount of coins for the same amount of reading. I already felt like I couldn’t get enough free coins every day, that I was being punished for being a faster-than-average reader, but this is ridiculous. You cannot get coins from the reading rewards if you aren’t even given a sufficient amount of coins to read a single chapter from the daily check in. I also believe that the daily check in should keep track of a streak, and if you check in every single day, it shouldn’t go back to giving you the smallest amount of coins at the beginning of the week. To go from getting 20 coins one day, then 5 the next is like a slap in the face that doesn’t make me want to be a loyal user. Furthermore, since the change, I currently get 10 coins for “day 1” and 5 coins for “day 6,” which doesn’t make an ounce of sense. The alterations to Kiss ’s coin system made the whole interface unusable for me.

I started reading a book on Facebook. I wanted to finish it but it’s going to take me a week to finish the last few chapters because you have to either buy the coins to buy chapters or wait to earn coins. So I bought 100 coins for $4.99. And then unlocked some chapters but the balance never showed up it just automatically used my 100 coins to unlock who knows how many chapters and now it’s asking for more money to unlock more chapters. It doesn’t tell you how many coins it would be to unlock the whole book and some of the chapters are a different amount of coins. Also there is only one way to earn coins and that is your daily check in. The daily check in coin increases every day but only for 7 days. Then you go back to the beginning to get less coins after that.
When I finish this book I’m deleting Kiss .
I just want to read a dang book and not spend who knows how much money on the books. There are other book apps that don’t do this to you so you’re better off finding a better app that isn’t trying to scam you out of money.

Used to love Kiss before with appropriate daily sign in coins and reading bonus. When I started, chapters were only 2-5 coins. Then they significantly decreased the coin value, took away bonus and brought back, you need a subscription and then all of my chapters are between 5-10 coins each so I have to sign in for like 4 days just to earn enough coins for 1 chapter!! Plus, with some books have very short chapters but so many chapters, you could easily spend $15 on a single book!

There are many grammatical, spelling and spacing errors in so many books. I have loved the story line of every book I have read thus far though.

I think these updates recently were a poor choice. I also now have a time limit that keeps popping up that I submitted for as a question and no one got back to me!

I tried Kiss as it popped up on social media with the first 3 chapters of a book & wanted to finish this book. I thought that if I liked it, I could find some more interesting reads and maybe new authors. What I didn’t know is that they would use this book & the fact that I wanted to finish it to charge me a fortune in “coins” to read it. Over 200 coins and almost $12. I know I could have saved my money and not finished it but they used my love of reading and wanting to see the story through. I don’t care what they say about licensing or whatever excuse they use to charge so much- I can buy a well known author’s book for less on a site that doesn’t act like they are doing readers a special favor or service. I finished my book and deleted Kiss and I won’t use it again. They used the love of reading against me - it’s sad.

I read a snippet of a book on social media and dismissed it but then it popped up again. I knew it was going to be a decent book and I’m on vacation so I downloaded Kiss . In order to keep reading you have to buy “coins”. The first time I bought 100 coins for $5. No biggie a book normally costs about that. There’s a box clicked that says use coins automatically when you first buy them. I had no idea how many I was using but figured no big deal. Well I had to repurchase coins 3 times just to finish the book. $15 later I’m not a happy camper.

Could the company just tell you up front? Sure but no one would ever pay $15 for each book. So why would they.

Marketing 101 says keep your prices reasonable abd you’ll have long time customers. $5 a book times multiple books is $25+ because it is a good app. But they’d rather swindle you out of $15 up front and lose customers so now they have to keep this up,

Word to the developers. Be up front, honest and reasonable and you could have had a huge amount of loyal readers. I easily would have read her series for $5-$7 per book upfront = $28 plus I’m sure I would have read more. You got $15 and no repeat business ever again. No way am I paying $60 to read 4 books from a shady company.

It is never explained how the “bonus” from daily check can be used, found that out by reading some comments in chapter notes. Everything was fine for a while then my account suddenly disappeared- “eh, I haven’t bought anything I can work around this” and did. They make a change to the other option to earn bonuses-worked only after sending a feedback form. No response, no sorry for the issue it’s been corrected…no customer service. Yesterday I try to use my daily check bonus but only get a popup to buy coins. Take screenshots to send another feedback request but they won’t come up when I try to attach (yes, Kiss is allowed to access my camera, it shows only pictures from 1st feedback form). So thanks for the memories of a few good stories but Kiss needs to be a lot more user friendly & reliable.
The only plus was seeing some authors I wasn’t familiar with…now I’ll go buy there books somewhere else.

I downloaded Kiss sometime last year and didn’t really think about it until right before Thanksgiving and once I saw the stories offered, I was hooked and have been on Kiss every day since. It’s so easy to earn coins to unlock chapters and each chapter doesn’t need a lot of coins (4, 6 or 8 coins). Given the amount of coins you can earn every day, it’s a super easy and extremely affordable way to enjoy stories!

UPDATE: I’ve downgraded Kiss to one star, and if I could I would give no stars. Getting rid of the reader reward option makes zero sense, and you say you have users notice the system was changing, but I think more than 3 out from the change was not enough time for users to understand the changes. Then nothing is explained if a user subscribes to the this app Pass, except we’re being told we can”read for free”. But not really if we’re paying $9.99/month. I’m not even a little bit sad that I’m deleting Kiss .

This used to be my favorite reading app. Books are great, and well written and edited. Liked it so much I subscribed. Then two weeks ago I lost my reading history and now although Kiss Store happily accepts my money and shows me as subscribed Kiss no longer does and continues to ask for coins. I’ve asked for assistance through their feedback form twice in those two weeks and have yet to get a response. So I will find a new app and cancel my subscription before it renews in 9 days. I was fine paying for books individually but something just feels very dishonest about offering a subscription but not honoring it. Even if it’s just a glitch not receiving back a response in weeks to an actual problem involving real money just rubs me the wrong way and I’m not buying more coins again even if I’m just getting into a really good book when their app acknowledges to me I have a subscription but asks for more money…..

I clicked on it and it keeps telling me to go to my settings and allow it to track, but even when ido that, it still keeps showing me the same screen to go to my settings. Even when I close Kiss from the background and restart,it does the 5 second countdown with the story recommendation and then immediately goes back to the same screen to go to my settings. I can’t close the window, I can’t go behind it. Tapping everywhere and everywhere on the screen does nothing. I was going to see if I could delete and then Reinstall but I’m afraid I’m going to lose all my saved stories and will also lose all the coins (chapters) I’ve already put into the 74 chapter book I’ve been reading of which I’m on chapter 59 because i didn’t link the account to my google/apple accounts. I love the variety and type of stories in Kiss. However, I signed up for the VIP (because I was spending $$$$ on coins to read the rest of stories I got into) and it’s never been added to my account. VIP is $100 a yr and I paid that on April 14th. It’s been 5 days now. I have contacted them through Kiss more than 4 times with no response. The money has already posted on my CC, I have deleted and reinstalled Kiss . I have signed out and signed back in. NOTHING. So I am out $100+ (because I stupidly continued to buy coins, almost another $80 worth since I paid for VIP because I wanted to finish the series I was hooked on) and nothing. This is my last attempt to get so sort of resolution before I file fraud/charge back for all my charges. Very very disappointed and unhappy and I don’t recommend Kiss to anyone.

I enjoy the books here but, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars purchasing coins, however this is getting old. 1) unlike other apps, they don’t use your bonus coins first, so if you have recently purchased coins you lose all the bonus coins, they expire, so you really never obtain any “free coins” 2) if you don’t purchase coins, and rely on the bonus coins, I have to go two-three days to get enough coins to read only one chapter! Lord, depending on the book (how many coins each chapter is) heck it could take you two to three months to read one 30 chapter book relying on bonus coins, that’s crazy. Bottom line is I’m done paying over and over to read with Kiss, I can’t wait 2-3 days to read one chapter! It kind of stinks, I have several books I want to read saved, I really like the author Lexi Ryan and several others, I just can’t afford all the coins it takes anymore, several hundreds of dollars is enough!

I downloaded Kiss after reading a snippet that popped up on social media. I immediately received coins for downloading, but every chapter costs 4-6 coins to read, and I found out fast that in order to finish the book I’d have to buy coins (you can earn free coins each day for reading and checking in, but it would take about a year to finish the book that way). I purchased 140 coins for $4.99, which wouldn’t have been that big a deal considering the book was good and when I do pay for an e-book it usually costs me between $2-$4. Unfortunately, even after purchasing 140 coins, and getting 33 free coins, I still don’t have enough coins to finish the book. I’d have to purchase another 30-40 coins in order to finish the book immediately. The stories on Kiss are good, but Kiss seems best for someone who is happy to read 1 chapter per day. For anyone who gets engrossed in a story and wants to keep reading, Kiss isn’t worth the cost.

I would give Kiss a 5 star rating, because I enjoy the stories, but I think it stinks that you have too keep paying for coins in order to get to each chapter, if there is away I can get free coins I would love to know! I’m not going to keep paying for coins just to try and finish the story I don’t mind purchasing every once and a while but dannnnggg, if I were to keep paying for coins that wound add up in expense ... I’m just saying there should be a way to earn free coins ... and if there is someone let me know!! The only thing I found was the daily check in & reading rewards & that’s even hard to find, the only way I knew how to find that option was to cancel the payment... you sound add a section specifically for stuff like that in my own opinion..

I saw the first couple of chapters on an add on Facebook, I liked what I read so I downloaded Kiss . The reading reward system is cool, so is the daily check-ins. Just wished they would give a greater number of coins, at least 4 coins in order to continue reading a chapter. Especially since it alternates between 6 coins and 4 coins different chapters. If you want to purchase coins it’s gonna cost you like 5 bucks to complete a book if not more, and that’s with help of the extra bonuses they give. So my advice is if you’re very patient or have money to burn, get Kiss . But if not I wouldn’t really since the coin system is kind of flawed at the moment and could definitely used improvement.

I’ve downloaded quite a few short story apps to read in my free time, and so many have such poor quality writing and stories.

But this app actually feels like I’m reading books I would find at Barnes & Noble! Quality reads, great story lines, perfect for someone who loves romance, fiction, and feel good stories! I can’t stop opening a new book every time I finish one.

The only negative is that I have to use coins for each chapter. I wish there was an option to earn coins besides just paying and a discounted option to buy the whole book at once instead of chapter by chapter.

I downloaded this recently and I’m really enjoying it! Kiss looks good, is well organized and makes it easy enough to get coins so that you can read significant amounts daily.
One critique is that I tried to get the coins from an email verification but it wouldn’t send the email even though I entered it a few times and it always said “sent” at the bottom of the screen. Also it didn’t recognize the ending for one of my emails and wouldn’t let me sent unless I entered my gmail. If it has to be verified I don’t see why it wouldn’t send to another type of email.

Overall the stories are great and well edited and I’m enjoying though so very well done!!

I haven’t had Kiss long, but so far the stories are really good. More importantly to me though is that they are written correctly. I realize a lot of these apps are offering people a chance to have their writing reviewed and “published”, but not having a properly edited story makes it less enjoyable for me as the thoughts are a jumbled mess that I feel I have to decipher. I am giving Kiss 4 stars because I feel there is always room for improvement even though I don’t have any complaints at this time. Keep up the good work and keep bringing more of these fantastic stories to my vivid imagination.

I absolutely love Kiss! I have gotten away from reading because of wanting to not spend money on books right now. This has let me get back into reading. It would be a 5 star app if the orientation would change with the device. If I plug my iPad in, I want to be able to turn it upside down and continue to use Kiss . My case allows for landscape orientation and place the iPad at an angle which makes it easier to read if I am eating while reading or laying in bed wanting to keep my hands free. Kiss doesn’t allow for that. Otherwise, I love Kiss . I will say that I am a slow reader, so it benefits me to keep moving through the books and still earn the rewards I need to be able to continue reading. Great job!

This is a great app not only are the stories very interesting, exciting & fun to read but they have a great variety of short medium and long books & I love that they offer you some free totally free no strings attached no aggravating wait times but totally free books for each and every reader to enjoy! Thanks so much for that totally unexpected gift! Also I like that you can see just how long a book is before you get into it because some are looonnngg!! Others like the great free book I read yesterday are normal to shorter in length I don’t like really long Christmas/holiday stories so this was great for my wants! Plus “Unwrapping Her Perfect Match” was free and very good I laughed, I cried, I was totally pulled into the story and I like that it tells each character’s POV which helps because as a reader I always like to know what all my characters are thinking & why they say and act certain ways this greatly helps! I have tried reading several other apps (9 to be exact) this by far is the best I’ve come across.
