I was hoping that this app would be helpful in my quest to study French but it’s not at all. I find that it’s lacks many basic helpful features like the ability to translate a sentence into my native language so I know what I’m reading. The UI is most of the time is confusing and I’m finding that I’m stuck in some rote remembering game that isn’t contextual to anything. The gamification is silly and not of any value. I won’t be using this app properly again as it’s frustrating.

I should have purchased just a monthly subscription to try it out first. Unfortunately, I purchased the app for a year. I’m very motivated to learn French, but this app is only frustrating me and isn’t helping me. I can’t figure out basic functionality to help me with certain features I want to use. I’ve sent in questions to the “feedback” menu and haven’t received anything helpful. I regret purchasing it.

Crashes when I try to open it, crashes when I do the listening exercise, I paid for a year subscription and after a week I can't access the filter, the app suddenly thinks I don't have a subscription even though it shows that I have one. But when it's working here's what I think:
Good things:
-TTS is not bad
-when you add a word the definition auto fills in and usually a picture to go with it.
-You can filter to only listen to the cards (although you are interrupted with a matching exercise now and then)
-You can add a sample sentence that you can optionally listen to as you review your cards
-not very expensive
Needs improvement:
- you can't set a filter to show the front of the card first (you can set it to show the back)
- you can't set a filter to not make you do the matching exercises
- you can only make one deck per language
- as I've mentioned it crashes a lot and I'm having access issues currently
- no monthly subscription? I wanted to try it out and got charged for a whole year but maybe that was my mistake?
