hangs repeatedly
installed after reading good review in der Spiegel magazine. App hangs before any functionality can be assessed. it did manage to stay up long enough to register and to get their spam.

No articles for nouns
There are no articles for the German nouns. articles are a key part of the word. What a shame. Learning a bunch of German nouns without their articles would only lead to bad grammar.

Fails to follow Apple’s iOS interface best practices
This app is well intentioned, but very unintuitive. There are many places where it is clear the designers have failed to heed the advice of the iOS Human Interface Guidelines documentation. So many things are poorly designed, for example there are dual rolling dial entries for language selectoin that have no prompt as to what each side means. It really is a shame this isn’t better because PONS produces my favorite German -> English dictionary, and I would have happily spent money on this app had it been better.
