Overall this app was extremely disappointing not only were the questions extremely poorly written, the question content themselves do not accurately reflect the content of the national registry. When I say the questions were probably written there was instances where the multiple choice multiple answer questions had different amount of answers than specified in the question. There was another instance where the question asked for the most likely cause of an issue, and then the answer justification said you needed to think outside the box when excluding an answer. Furthermore this exam seems to focus on specific lines of the texts used to create the exam, and not the kind of questions on the national registry. This test prep reads more like exam questions for specific paramedic course and specific textbooks rather than a comprehensive review of material. Overall I feel this app set me back in my exam prep.

For the most part I’ve found this to helpful with getting in the test taking mindset. Since I’m just studying and not taking an actual test, I find myself not reading question and answers thoroughly enough and getting questions wrong that I would probably get right on an actual test.
As with any EMS test I have issues with the wording and could definitely make legitimate arguments about my answer that was ultimately wrong. I have flagged all those questions but I think flagging questions just lets you mark a specific question to come back and study and not let pocket prep know they should possibly look at the questions and/or answers more thoroughly.
My biggest complaint with the app is auto selecting answers while I’m scrolling still. Not a huge deal, but let’s be real, we all want to do well. It’s frustrating when it picks an answer because my thumb was still dragging and I get it wrong because I hadn’t read all the options yet.

I normally don’t write reviews, but I had to for this very helpful and effective study tool. I graduated from my EMT course in December 2020, took the NREMT exam immediately after and I failed! I was extremely disappointed and my confidence was down in the dumps. I put off trying to get certified until this year!! Right before the 2 year mark expiration in the ability to get certified after course completion. I started studying and glad I came across this app. The thorough explanations for right AND wrong answers were very helpful. The mock exam gave good practice for taking the real exam. The fact that you can pull out your phone anywhere and have a quick study session is very convenient. The premium subscription was worth every penny. If anyone is in my position or just wants a great tool to aid in studying for the NREMT exam, this is it. I am a newly certified as of today! When I first failed I went to the full 120 questions. This time around it cut me off at the minimum 70 questions and I personally felt the questions were not as hard this time around. Thanks again Pocket Prep! Don’t ever give up. Know your ABC’s. Use an EMT crash course textbook. Know your key terms. Know your signs and symptoms! Put in the work and you will see the results! Good luck!
