Tomb Raider Reloaded Reviews

I am very disappointed in this game. When you play the events, they do not give you the rewards that you earn. I came in 1st place on the one event that I played, and when it was over, I got a pop up that said “here are your rewards for 7th place”. I went back into the event, which had ended, and it still showed me in 1st place. I guess they don’t want to really give you the rewards that you actually earned. They want you to pay for them. There is really no advancement in this game unless you spend money, and I am not going to do that….especially when they cheat you out of your earned rewards. Just not worth the time required to try to beat the levels when you can’t get any good equipment without making the game creators rich. This is just a dead end game for free players.

Edit: Even worse now. I was under the assumption that adding your apple account and your facebook account backs up the game. So I inquired with others about deleting and reinstalling the game to fix a ton of the bugs, and as long as you are logged into facebook and apple you’re fine. Well, fast forward to now, I lost EVERYTHING, completely restarted the game and guess what? Logging into facebook or apple didn’t help. So I reached out to the support team to see what they could help me with and haven’t heard anything back. So, months of grinding and getting Legendary gear have been lost. Probably will not redownload the game again.

VERY FRUSTRATED with the last update. The game is still broken. I just dismantled an EPIC bullet i had because it froze after dismantling a common item… The screen went black so i tapped it to see if it would move to the next screen and it automatically dismantled it. ALL THAT WORK… gone. Took me almost a month to get that up. So many bugs… I’ll keep playing the game but I hope they make fixes for things like this. Maybe after they’re fixed i’ll give a better review. But as of right now i’m very frustrated…

Well, I was rather enjoying this game since it’s release date in February 2023, however nearly a year’s worth of progress will be gone since the game just randomly decided to stop loading and get stuck at 48%. No fix.
When you click on the support link in the Apple App Store you are taken to the developers webpage, which has absolutely no contact info. I tried to report a problem to apple directly and I can’t. It won’t let me select the game when I go to report an issue with apple. The only direct support is in the game and I can’t get to it because the game won’t open. How convenient for the developers.
I’ve also tried contacting the developers via their discord server, and there is no contact in there either, and no one in the server who is a so called moderator has a fix for iPhone users or contact info for developers. Only option is to delete and reinstall, which means I will lose all progress so I’m left with a dead game.
The developers need to take responsibility for their bugs! I can’t even contact them and I have heard that even if you can, you will need your tomb raider reloaded game ID. Do people actually have the time to write down a mobile game ID? Very poor on the part of the developers! So mad what a waste of months of gameplay.

I initially got the game through Netflix but since it had so many issues and after some reading I thought get the regular version and yes you might pay a few here and there.
After having played it extensively I'm up on the chapters and collected a nice range of equipment. No with each game it crashes right when I finalized a chapter and tells me my phone memory is full, fyi 50% empty! Also it asks me to close other apps..,they are all closed.
Stop blaming your customers and assume they are too stupid to recognize that your developers just put a band aid on with updates.
I invested time and paid a few times for upgrade so it's your turn to invest in a real fix!

I played this game back when it came out and put over 200$ in buying in game bundles to be able to progress, due to how bad the level scaling is.. but what really bothered me was that even though I had my account linked; I upgraded phones and when I tried to restore my progress it was all gone. I wouldn’t be mad about starting over but losing over 200$ was really infuriating. I tried messaging their support multiple times I even had the proof of all the stuff I bought, but no response.. I tried the email and the infame support. I got ignored for weeks… A Scam that’s what this game is. Don’t even bother.. to this day they still haven’t replied. Last time I download any square enix game.

I was so excited to play this game (pre-registered), but I can’t recommend it

It’s buggy (like one time I died and resurrected after a boss, and I was trapped with no way out but to exit the stage), which has been fine, but now it’s taken my money. I’m not a big purchaser—maybe up to $50 now

Recently, there’s been a dismantle bug that causes a gray screen after you’ve dismantled an item, which was also fine since 90% of the time I could dismiss it by tapping around randomly. The other times I had to reset. Okay fine again

However now I’ve found that if you tap the dead center, it dismantles your EQUIPPED item, which is devastating, since you’ve probably invested in and equipped your best item. In my case, it was an epic (top tier) item that I had spent a decent amount to get. Granted, this is an egregious problem for any player, but it’s a special kind of annoying when you’ve sunk money

I have the videos of course. I can reproduce. How long will it take Support to answer, if ever? Who knows. Will this be made right? Who knows

Long story short, buyer beware. I wouldn’t spend (again)

Big TR fan for a long time so I downloaded this but truthfully wasn’t really expecting anything amazing. Turns out it’s a fun and well paced “grind” type game which rewards you with items that you can level up to try and take on tougher stages.

Unfortunately the bugs absolutely ruin this game. If the game crashes (which it will) at the end of a run, while upgrading your gear, or any other crucial moment like that, you will lose whatever items were currently on your screen. I’m talking gear that you spend days or even weeks leveling up. Gone. I just had the game crash while leveling up an item I had worked hard on upgrading and when I reopened TombRaiderReloaded , it was gone. That completely ruins this entire game for me. I’m running this game on an iPhone 14 Pro Max so it’s not like I’m using old hardware either. It’s just a broken app that needs major fixes.

TL;DR: This game will crash on you constantly and you will more than likely lose the items that this game REQUIRES you to grind and put time into. Not worth it.

I really enjoy the core gameplay loop of this game, but the prevalence and punishing nature of the glitches just makes this a nearly unplayable mess. Approximately 50% of the time I’ve spent playing this game has been completely negated by glitches. It’s incredibly frustrating to think you’re making progress for 2 hours and end up having nothing to show for it. The game doesn’t give you any rewards for a dungeon until the results screen successfully closes, but there’s no “press your luck” mechanic that would ever make it so you shouldn’t be able to claim those rewards, so not giving you the rewards immediately every time you complete a stage was simply a programming decision that saves overhead at the cost of frustrating the player base. Some of the runs are 50 stages, and I’ve completed 50 stages numerous times only to have it crap out on the results screen and not give me any of the things I collected throughout the run. If they changed it so that it added the money and items to your account as soon as you pick them up, I’d give it 4 stars, and if they fixed all the glitches, it’d definitely be a 5-star game, but as is it’s just a frustrating experience all around, and I can’t in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

Game looks good and plays well. Better than the other options of this kind of game. Weapons feel good and gear drop rate is decent. Controls are pretty decent. However, give me an ad free version. I should not have to say no to watching 10 ads to clear one chapter. I probably wouldn’t hate ads so much if they weren’t designed to make you angry at how incompetent the “player” in the ad is. The sheer number of these “rage ads” makes me consider deleting TombRaiderReloaded.

Also, leveling up your account is pointless. No talents or perks to leveling. You get 10-ish gems which is a trivial amount that can afford you nothing. There needs to be some kind of talent system tied to leveling up so you can passively acquire power in areas you want.

Gathering relics is frustrating because there is no transparency with how to acquire them. “Later levels have better odds” tells the player nothing. I cleared the last level in the zone repeatedly over two days and got no relic pieces. That isn’t fun. Games are meant to be fun. Doing something over and over in the hopes that it MIGHT be what you are supposed to do is frustrating.

This game could be great but has glaring issues.

I have to change my review. I love this game. As I got further now suddenly TombRaiderReloaded is constantly crashing. Kill the final boss. Crash! Upgrade an item. Crash. Restart the game and the item iv worked so hard to upgrade completely disappeared. Watching an ad. You get problem with add error and nothing happens for wasting ur time watching it. Claim rewards. Crashes. Can hardly play it anymore cause it always crashes. Same thing happened to the Lara Croft run game. Got so so far on 2 different devices and when I got so far and worked so hard in the game it randomly crashes in the same spot every single time no matter what. If this keeps glitching out I’m not gonna be willing to ply anymore even though I really want too.

As an OG Tomb Raider fan, this game is a serious homage to classic Lara, and I cannot commend the game enough for the thematic presentation. Unfortunately, the game simply is unplayable with how often it crashes. The game was soft released months ago, and I am disappointed by how many bugs litter the game, how little the devs communicate and push updates, and by how abysmal the performance is on a modern smartphone. One look at the discord proves how rampant the crashing issues are, and you'll get an amazing look at how passionate players are for the game. It's a shame because I really enjoy the game, but I can't play it without crashing and my phone overheating. And yes, the devs are aware of the crashing, yet continue to do nothing other than put a "continue previous run?" button that seldom shows up after crashing. Wonderful.

iPhone XR on latest version of game and iOS.

The core gameplay is fun, and the graphics are nice.

- There are plentiful amounts of bugs in the UI, though this doesn't seem to affect most of the gameplay.

- Sometimes if you take a break and come back, it will let you resume, and other times it does not! This is a problem that needs to be fixed as the game has 50-room stages.

- You will be playing the same stages over and over as upgrading equipment takes longer and much, much longer.

- The game baits you into watching ads, especially the very falsely advertised games such as Royal Match and Misty Continent that also force you to visit TombRaiderReloaded page before exiting the ad (which I'm sure generates them numbers to make it look like people are visiting their ad page while not under duress). Abusive and shady strategy! Be prepared to spend minutes of every run playing ads for something you don't want.

- I would pay to have an ad blocker because the game is alright and probably worth about $5-$10 without ads. I'm sure ruining the game experience with manipulative and false ads is more lucrative, sadly. Maybe someone will make a game like this that you can just pay for and have a better, less time-consuming experience?

15 seconds into playing and I instantly knew I was gonna love this game. I was playing this game for a while and enjoying it until the 3rd world. Why did the third arena get so hard outta nowhere????? It went from 4-6 enemies per room to like 10-15 enemies. I have no clue how anybody actually beat this without spending money. And outta nowhere too, my weapons feel like there hardly doing damage. By the 3rd arena my gun was a level 6 and it still felt like it was doing no damage. I don’t even know if I should even play anymore to be honest, I don’t wanna have a stroke dodging 100 projectile’s at once. Either way game has so much potential just balance the difficulty and you got a great game.

I’ve played this for a week now and decided to play today. It opened up to tell me about the new update but wouldn’t let me pass the screen to play. I had to delete the game, redownload the game and sign back in with my apple account to continue my saved progress. However I completed the second tomb with 50 levels and now that I’m signed back in with my apple progress account. I have to repeat the second tomb of 50 levels plus all of my artifacts and items in my bag are all lost that I no longer have. Can I get a award or something because it should’ve saved all that information and it hasn’t. I’ve lost my gems, my items, and even level progression. ALSO WHY DOESNT THE GAME ALLOW YOU TO MUTE IT PLAY YOUR OWN MUSIC WHILE PLAYING. As soon as you okay the music stops. Which is frustrating because this is a first for me not to be able to enjoy music while I game. Sometimes I don’t want to hear the game sounds, but my own music please update that so your own music is playable while playing the game other than that the game is fun, creative, and enjoyable

The actual gameplay here is actually quite fun and pretty addicting. Like most mobile games these days though, ads are factored into the equation which is to be expected and normally aren’t an issue for me. BUT, not only am I getting constant errors when trying to view ads telling me I don’t have enough phone storage to play the ads, but some of the ads are a minute long with multiple pop ups to close out of before getting your reward! The inconsistency and unpredictability of the ads (especially when attempting to view one for a revive) in this game are extremely frustrating. I’ll continue to play and hope they release an update to fix this issue but it’s a real bummer. Side note: Ads that force audio to play when my phone is on silent is a real turn off and makes me force quit the game. Additionally, it’d be nice if it didn’t force other audio apps playing in the background to pause when you open the game.

The gameplay is fun and does capture the general essence of the franchise, and it tries to stave off being too formulaic by randomly generating various boosters, but it all quickly grows repetitive

Resources trickle in painfully slow, even with dedicated play. Undoubtedly a ploy to push the numerous microtransactions, which is normal for mobile gaming these days

Weapons and gear cannot be locked like other gacha-based games. I accidentally dismantled my equipped Epic weapon and had to message support. Situations like this rarely work out in the players’ favor. Why would I want to dismantle the currently equipped weapon? It makes no sense

This game is good for about half an hour until you realize what it’s trying to do, and the gameplay isn’t enough to sustain interest without a sizable forfeiture of real money to keep up I cannot recommend this as a lover of the Tomb Raider franchise and real gaming in general

You’re better off picking up the console or PC ports of the excellent trilogy by Crystal Dynamics

I’ve been playing TR Reloaded for about 6 months now. I like the gear based/looter shooter and grind aspect of this game. The grind gets kind of repetitive but it’s still enjoyable because of the events that involve the outfits fragments. The grind for resources I feel is the hardest part and it’s mainly just the coins. I don’t have any issue with obtaining runes for outfit upgrades, shards for relics, or manuals for gear. I’ve got thousands of runes,shards, and manuals, I just can’t seem to get enough coins to upgrade all my stuff. I do the daily’s and weekly’s every week using all the coin scrolls I can get. I watch ads at every chance I get, even the ad in store for free coins every few hours. I just feel like the reward for this grind is getting redundant and now that the new update is out I was quite excited about it until TombRaiderReloaded just stopped loading at 48%. Still awaiting the next 3 stages to be added which I hope come soon after the fix to what ever is going on with TombRaiderReloaded now. I hope it’s fixed before the event is over so I can get the 30 outfit fragments I still need

Enjoying the core game, but the “free to play” bells and whistles are all here. This one might be little better than most because the core game - an arcady shooter/runner - is fun. Controls are floaty and will hopefully tighten up. This is one I would have paid for up-front to eliminate all the FTP wrapping (and they hit you with it pretty fast). I’d say the actual PLAY part is about 20% of your typical session. Expect to be tapping on all manner of gifts, gems, coins, timer speed-ups, cosmetic improvement offers, etc etc etc between actual gameplay. I will likely play and pay for a few IAP (hey, I realize games are expensive to make), but I’m sad that I won’t see the end. The FTP machine on games these days is just far too addictive and pricey.

I’ve only been playing for a day but this is probably one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever had on my phone. There is one problem that involves dismantling gear; each time I dismantle something, the screen darkens and then I click on it, it sometimes dismantles my equipped gear that I’m wearing. I had dismantled my first piece of purple gear by accident because of this issue. I think this is one of the only issues that needs to be fixed. Other than that, this game is amazing.

Love the classic “Archero” feel, but with Laura’s spice added. Graphics are pretty good in comparison to other games of this type. But there is A LOT of grind! I’ve gotten so many gear pieces and bullet type that I can merge/craft to get better stats. But I barely come across any weapons. And the main reason that I give 4 stars is due to the upgrade system. After dismantling items, you get taken a “shadow” screen that you can tap to get back to your inventory. If you tap in the middle of the screen, you WILL dismantle your equipped item. I broke down the few weapons I had to upgrade my golden guns, then…POOF! Had to run SEVERAL attempts with the crappy spear just to get another weapon I could merge. PLEASE FIX THIS AND GIVE US A WAY TO GET OUR WEAPONS BACK!

Game good just need a patch to enjoy better , game is closing on me too, please fix even if there’s issues such as completing a chapter and may close on equipment choosing to equip for example, please fix thanks. And leveling up also needs a patch too thanks. Leveling up is an issue still as well as completing a chapter Please fix, I would dislike to remove it unless I have no choice, just requesting thanks. Have you tried playing the game to see what wrong with it? New chapters are fine if you can get to them. I think seems to have a level up cap, please fix.

I really like this game a lot, but it needs a few changes to be as good as mighty doom. Special items such as grenades should be equipped and usable with an action button because having Lara automatically throw an infinite amount seems a little cheap. Not being able to move while shooting is very strange for a Tomb Raider game. I wish you could move while shooting but at a slower pace or maybe she could have a jumping backflip with a cool down and can shoot while flipping. Sole enemies need to be altered to be more challenging because you could literally just stand still in some rooms and win.

Great Archero style rogue game. The one big problem I’ve had so far is on boss levels if I have even just one additional app open, when I do the additional spin for watching an ad, it’ll say “ad Watch failure! Insufficient memory on device” and then the screen freezes and I can no longer move forward. I have to close the game, close EVERYTHING else and reopen TR Reloaded and redo the boss level again.

I remember most of the time now to close everything before running the game, but it is annoying and not a problem I should be experiencing on an iPhone 14 pro max with 256gb.

The game is great, love the simplicity of it all. Difficulty gets pretty steep early on, which leads to a bit of grinding to start upgrading your gear. I am level 47 with only one bug I dealt with. When upgrading my weapon, the game crashed and my dual pistols were just missing the icon/graphic in game. It was fixed by replaying a level. Also… I am sick of seeing the ads. I would give MONEY to have them removed. Please add a pay feature to remove them and have the rewards the same, without the same scripted ad playing over and over!

The game is great so far honestly. it’s no playstation or xbox quality. but it looks and plays flawlessly. i do wish connecting accounts was more stable. hate needing to replay the entire tutorial because the game for whatever reason didn’t link fully? however i can’t wait to see the many variants of locations and monsters along with more puzzles maybe. all in all it itches my tomb raider scratch for now.

There are many games in App Store with this game genre, but none of them come close to being this awesome! Not only that, but unlike all the other games of this genre, it appears that these developers created all their own original assets, which is great for those of us who are tired of seeing the same looking crates, power-ups, enemies, etc.

I love me some Lara Croft and I love me some of this archeresque type gameplay.

Since the recent update the ads won't play anymore and sometimes the game freezes now. Awesome game though. I love it. Great design and animation. But I can't really enjoy it anymore if the freezing persists and bonus ads aren't available.
Oh there's also a glitch on the stage select menu. It the rewards, the weekly rewards. It shows a green ! Badge which indicates there's a reward to be collected. But there is no reward to be collected in weekly rewards. And that green ! Badge will not go away even after I restart TombRaiderReloaded or after I get an actually weekly reward to collect. The ! badge is still there.

There are many games in App Store with this game genre, but none of them come close to being this awesome! Not only that, but unlike all the other games of this genre, it appears that these developers created all their own original assets, which is great for those of us who are tired of seeing the same looking crates, power-ups, enemies, etc.

I love me some Lara Croft and I love me some of this archeresque type gameplay.
