Need More Options

I really wanted to love Unimeal but I just can’t. Once you choose a meal plan you cannot change anything about it without contacting support. I don’t mind a bit of seafood (it’s not my absolute favorite) but I can’t take that option off my meal plan now or change any of the food options. You can swap out food BUT all of the options aren’t available when you try to swap foods. In my experience I get anywhere from 3-5 choices only which is frustrating. Also, printing out the shopping list for a week is also not great as I can only get the first week to print. It would be nice if the recipes gave the total amounts too, like 1 cup or 6 ounces etc. that’s not listed anywhere what the serving size total is.

And whatever you do, don’t ask them to update anything because when you do your whole meal plan is removed and you start over. And because you don’t have access to all of the meals in the plan, you can’t recreate it!! So frustrating!!

I love it!

I am having a very different experience from the negative reviews listed here. I am vegetarian and the recipes look delicious! I just made my first breakfast and I loved it and I feel satisfied- energized and complete but not stuffed. I am waiting on my grocery delivery so had to swap a meal with one I had ingredients for and it was an easy swap process. The measurements are offered in teaspoons not just ounces as some reviews said. Also I am not charged weekly as some reviews said - I am on a monthly plan. I reached out to customer service via email telling them I only wanted the plan for one month and I need to cancel after and within 10 minutes they got back to me and already canceled for next month. Five star experience for me!

Beware, recipe units are completely in ounces, no support

This is very disappointing. I was all excited to have a meal and exercise plan tailored just for me. Then I open the recipes and they are all completely in ounces. No cups, tablespoons or teaspoons at all. I could deal with this on the liquid measurements because some of my measuring cups have ounces on them. But I still don’t know if they ounces by weight or volume. And how do I measure 0.7 ounces of almond flakes? That would be weight I think and I’m not buying a food scale and weighing everything.

I have contacted customer support twice in the last 2 weeks and no response. The 2nd time I asked for a refund. I guess I will be contacting my credit card company to have the charge removed that way.

It’s too bad. The exercise plan looks good and there is some useful info and health and wellness. It’s just this recipe thing and literally NO customer service or support. Again, very disappointed... :(

Don’t Do It

Some of the ingredients are misspelled which I find questionable and the picture for the meal I cooked isn’t even for the same recipe! I signed up for this plan through “Bodyfit” but am accessing it through “this app”. It’s very confusing given there’s no marketing consistency and the logos aren’t the same. I’m so confused by the
whole thing.

This diet regime is too intensive when it comes to the cooking. It’s expensive ($108 for the first week) and I haven’t gotten past the first day. I cooked one of the meals according to the recipe given and it wasn’t anywhere near being cooked. I’m a good cook. I did question the baking times but figured they must know. They said to bake the potatoes and carrots at 180 degrees for 20-25 min. Anyone who cooks knows that’s just a warming temp. It wouldn’t actually cook Potatoes and carrots (which were severely undercooked) and I’m working with my typical stove that cooks just fine with any other recipe. I had to create a completely new dish on my own in order to salvage the veggies.

These recipes are supposed to be under 30 minutes but it takes much longer. I don’t have time for it and will not be utilizing this plan any longer. I’m going to eat the $20 I paid for the one month plan and be done.

I wouldn’t recommend. You live and learn
I suppose.

Disappointed

I was so excited to try Unimeal! I thought it would be great. The first week and I already cancelled my subscription. Recipes don’t turn out as pictured. Recipes hardly work at all for anything you have to cook. Shopping list is terrible! Unimeal does not minimize food waste. It’s like they pick random recipes for you and make you spend $200+ on groceries per week because you’re not eating left overs or using unused products for recipes later in the week. Directions are UNCLEAR on cooking. “1 slice of cheddar cheese” then says grated cheddar... I would’ve just bought grated cheddar if that’s what it said on the shopping list. I purchased a subscription to PlateJoy and it is amazing compared to this. It minimizes food waste and is soooo much cheaper than getting charged $10 a week... will not be using Unimeal ever again. Became a hassle... the opposite of what it was supposed to be. :(

Worst

Unimeal IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Like actually if I can give it less than one star I would. Customer service is just as bad. I had Unimeal for less than 20 minutes realizing it’s not what I wanted to and asked for a refund. The meals are disorganized, you end up wasting money trying to buy ingredients. They don’t inform of you the actual quantities it takes to build the meal and Unimeal is hard to navigate and I’m 22! Therefore I quickly placed a refund in hoping that because it was so quick they would cancel and NO HELP. They kept giving me the run around and eventually I get fed up. THIS IS THE WORST APP I HAVE EVER USED. I am actually very upset that I did not receive a refund because then I could at least try to say the customer service is helpful but it is not. Especially for someone who hasn’t even held on to the program for an hour.

JENNIFER FIXED MY HEIGHT… now I love the app

My height was not entered properly therefore my BMI and calories were incorrect. All the advice did not apply because my entire day was less than 500 calories!!!!!! This was never fixed and my second request was not answered. I want a refund.

Once Jennifer loaded my correct height Unimeal worked just fine. I love the meal plans and shopping list.

My new start date is next Sunday so I can shop for all the ingredients I need. Meanwhile I will try to make similar meals with the ingredients I have on hand.

Deceptive App With Subpar Support

I downloaded Unimeal through their website and through their flow of profile building. They mention multiple times their support and their attention to a custom personal profile and plan. I purchased their plan which was equal to 16 bucks. Found out soon enough that their plan is NOT personal, and nothing different from plans you find for free on other websites. What bothered me is that they sign you up for a subscription without telling you prior to the purchase, and in very small prints on their auto-generated emails. Contacted support and they told me they cannot issue a refund, and after multiple emails, they “can refund” half. So this is how they make their money. Deceptive app, plan, and support. VERY FRUSTRATING.

Beware!!! Poor customer service, Not practical & expensive

Subpar! I was immediately disappointed and asked for a refund 20 minutes after seeing what was offered. Lousy initial customer service. The follow up customer service is even less helpful.

The menu plan had strange meals given one at a time that make it difficult to plan ahead in a pandemic. You could find everything they tell you with a simple google search.

Nothing in the advertising tells you it is a WEEKLY subscription. Canceling has been a run around. You don’t get your money back. Your only recourse is to cancel the payment with PayPal for the next billing cycle and complain to PayPal. I do not recommend this product. It is unfortunate that there are not negative numbers to rate products. This would definitely be a negative rating.

Edited: Responses to negative reports recommend you contact customer support. This allows the developer look concerned and helpful. Don’t be fooled. The reality is nothing changes. You get a pleasant sounding response about how their policy is to not refund your money. Beware!

Review

The first week of Unimeal was okay, I liked that it came with a grocery list and you can pick how many meals a day you would like to eat. I like that it also gave me short manageable workouts. The recipes were okay but I added a lot of my own ingredients to add flavor. I paid for a second week and got a repeat of a lot of the same recipes, for 9.99 a week I would have thought there would have been more variety. I could have just taken screen shots of the first weeks meals and saved myself some money. Unimeal is only good for a week, after that the price is not worth it.

Disappointing meal options

Started off great but then quickly realized the questions I was asked about which foods I did and didn’t want included was pointless because majority of the meals created included food I don’t eat or I’m allergic to. I can’t eat tree nuts or peanuts but it suggested items with peanut butter almonds and walnuts I checked off only chicken for meats and the detox plan I purchased listed several seafood ingredients. Veggies I only listed cucumber broccoli lettuce and many of the meal options were some sort of beet salad. Overall disappointed that I have paid $20 for something I really can’t use

It’s cool.

Unimeal is cool with the reminders and goals. I’m trying to gain weight so I like some of the meal options though I wish I could make changes. It give you the option to swap but I’ve never an in the swap options are the same meal list three times. Just more and better options. It helps me reach my goal for calorie counting/ intake. You can tell that Unimeal is mostly to help you lose weight. There’s a lot of info about ways to lose nothing about healthy gaining. I was hoping to find an all for one app that support both.

TERRIBLE

I am very displeased with Unimeal. First of all, I put my information on the website (that I have screenshots of) of my correct height. My height was put in wrong on Unimeal and when I contacted support I was told it would be changed, then I got contacted again that I had to go back on the website and go to the payment screen to confirm my email, how does that even make sense? Why would I need to go to the payment screen? I canceled my subscription just to be charged again and was told by support it was to confirm my cancellation! Unimeal ruined all future app’s for me. I will NEVER trust another app like this again.

By

Horrible

I purchased this program so I could see the meal plan it created for me, once I opened it and seen it will not work for me it doesn’t Work with allegories, I wanted a program that would work around my food allergies and this is not it. I downloaded paid then realized it is not user friendly in that aspect and sent a cancellation request, will not refund me it’s not in the refund policy! This is terrible business practice I had Unimeal for less then 30 mins before I sent the refund request. I only gave this 1 star because it required me to in order to write the review. Do not waste your money on this program.

By

Organized but shaky

It is a very simple and very easy platform to use. The only thing I would recommend is being able to choose macro goals. Most competitor meal planning programs cost way less than the $17 a month for this one and offer more options... I really like the simplicity in navigation for Unimeal though, as well as how easy the recipes are to make.
I also had to pay the $17 twice in my first month because there was an unknown set date for billing Periods🥶

Workout

I would be happier if I could add my own workouts such as my Pilates class, TRX or Barre class. I keep getting notices to workout. I work out daily, I just do my own not theirs. But there is no way for me to enter them. Also, you cannot edit errors. I continue getting alerts to enlist in their paid plan. Why? Unimeal is extremely unadaptable and inflexible. I also get eating alerts about not eating sugar. I never eat sugar, never have, don’t like sweets. I can’t eat bread or pasta because I am celiac. I am also lactose intolerant. But I can’t stop these alerts that mean nothing to me. Unimeal is not worth my time.

By

bland

I can't speak to the tracking fully, but it appears to be similar to myfitnesspal. The recipes are the worst. I just paid the $20 to get my "meal plan." Its just bland rice and chicken, or qunioa and chicken with salt and throw chopped tomatoes on top. One of the breakfasts was 3 eggs cooked in a pan, throw spinach and tomato on it. ?????? If you're looking for inspiring and creative recipes to spice up your weight loss meal prepping, this aint it sis. Better to use myfitnesspal and use your own recipes and just portion that way. I keep going back to that app because there really isnt anything better. Cancelled my subscription. Wasted $20.

Wish Stars Had a Negative

I will not give this company even one star! The recipes sound disgusting, the measurements are terrible, I checked the box for breakfast, lunch and dinner only...they give me the three meals with two snacks. I asked for a refund and was directed to the refund policy, which states that you are not eligible for a refund unless you cook and eat all their meals and don’t see a difference in weight...then you have to prove that you made the meals. Whatever happened to being able to cancel within three business days...oh, that’s only for California and Connecticut residents.

By

The ad says $9.99 not per week or per month

I am immediately emailing to get my money back. Be more transparent, please. We look for help but we don’t want to be deceived. Plus, most of the recipes contain food I don’t like. They refuse to give me my money back saying that at the bottom of the page where you put your card into tells you it will be billed every week, which is a lie! I’m filing a complaint with BBB because everyone is saying the same thing. I didn’t even have Unimeal downloaded for more than 5 minutes when I saw Unimeal was fraudulent!

SCAM!!!

Do not buy Unimeal! The recipes are almost impossible to follow and NOT customizable. Once you pick a plan, you’re stuck with it whether you want to change or not. Not even two weeks in and I’ve been trying to cancel. Every time is click CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION Unimeal says I have in Internet connection. What a load of crap. Now they’re trying to charge me a week early, even though I’ve reached out to Customer Support to cancel. I’m going to have to have my bank cancel the charges. This is such a SCAM. They only want to take your money!

Explicación

I was interested, I was already charged at each week, I did not obtain any information, I already claimed and I still do not have information and I am still being charged I cannot make the cancellation because it does not allow me to open absolutely nothing of your application

My daughter is 17 years old and made a purchase by mistake using our Bank account. When the program became available, we followed their directions and cancelled immediately. They do not respond to any communication. Most recent #2556162. This is a warning for under age children. This warning cost 27.00! Good thing that is all it cost. Beware..... ¨Please rest assured that we have taken note of your concerns and are fully committed to resolving them promptly.¨ Their prompt response was sorry we are keeping your daughters money. Don't be fooled by their lies.

This company offered a couple options as a try out, so I took the $6.99 which is for one day, and I took it just to check if there was something different from the other many apps, but after scrolling a couple of minutes, I knew it wasn't for me. 7 days after this stupid waste of $6.99 my Credit Card was charged $29.99, immediately I looked for their phone number, and they are in Cyprus, so I sent an email which was replied almost right away, and they looked into my case, after 10 minutes they sent another email saying they weren't reimbursing the $29.99 because my case didn't qualify for it. I insisted and they still refused to do so. My experience with this overseas scam obviously was terrible, because they kept my money, their app is terrible, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, because is just a cheap replica of Noom, or any other app that already exists.

I have been using the app for about a week and I have no complaints. Reading the comments I really thing we´re all using different apps. Support, so far, has answered promptly and it was made clear to me that the service would roll over on a monthly basis unless it was cancelled. Being a vegetarian I got a good selection of foods -downside is that there are some fish dishes too, but I can swap them out. I would say There are daily suggested exercises that are simple and don´t need equipment but you have to actually play the videos from your phone in order to have them registered, and there is no way to log workout you´ve done outside of the app. It is a bit pricey, but so far I have no complaints.
