4.4 out of 5

Only works within 5mind of computer shut down

2022-05-22

Bought this as I did a quick test before purchase to see it did wake up all my PCs, only to find it will not work if the pc has been off longer than ~5mins. Only Wolow has this problem, I still use another free one that works no issue; confirming Wolow is faulty.

Terrible instructions

2022-06-23

Seriously terrible instructions - just a link to an article about wake on LAN but nothing about how to use or set up this tool- like where to find the MAC address, or either of the two IP addresses you will need for this to work.
Wolow cannot scan my network itself to find eligible devices.
You can find competitively priced products that do much better. Chances are that if you can figure out how this particular app works you already could write your own app for the purpose.

Only works over Network

2022-07-24

Wish Wolow had the feature to wake up a machine when away from home using a DDNS address

Doesnt always work

2022-08-25

Not sure why, but it appears when i close Wolow the port used to wake the computer is still in use. Upon reusing Wolow , im unable to wake the computer because the port has never cleared.

Is this a hidden cyber crime at work, or just faulty programming?

It works (Kind of)

2022-09-26

It turns on my pc but it doesn’t reboot, power off or put my pc to sleep. (Edit: It works but you have to download the companion app on your pc. That mistake was entirely my fault) Originally was 4 stars

Update:2 it only works if your pc has been turned off for a short period of time

Purchased but still locked

2022-10-27

Dear developer,
I purchased the this app for its shutdown, reboot and sleep function thinking that it will be very easy to turn off the pc with not having to go physically to it but now Wolow still shows the locked version asking to pay again. I tried swiping the pc icon with no reboot, sleep or shutdown function showing. What could be the issue? Please advise. Thanks

Great App But…

2022-11-28

Love Wolow ! It looks and feels really clean and professionally built. Works flawlessly on LAN. Here’s my only problem. I followed the devs advice and setup a vpn software through a raspberry pi called pivpn and can actively and correctly fully get on my home network when off the LAN. I can ssh into home servers I have setup and all that without port forwarding anything so I know my vpn is configured correctly. Unfortunately I can’t remotely turn on my PC when off the LAN but connected to the vpn. I can successfully do it through forwarding ports on router but would rather not expose ports and I noticed the pc status doesn’t really work on WAN. I tried both the broadcast ip and the device ip and was only successfully able to turn the pc on once after several attempts. I would love to be able to turn on my pc away from home. I even paid for the premium features so I would love to have this work but sadly I may have to try and find an alternative route. For now I have just used the vpn to ssh in home server and then remote send WoL packet from command line on home server. Extra steps but still works. No way to contact dev so I’m hoping a response would happen here. Tried all troubleshooting tips on devs website as well. Great app just wish functions would work better.

Does great for what it does, but I have a feature suggestion

2022-12-29

So, I love the Siri Shortcuts it offers, but I believe it is missing something. If I am not mistaken, there is no shortcut input or “get” command for awake status with premium. I think this would be cool, as I like “coding” shortcuts and currently have a dropdown menu where I can choose to turn on my PC or shut it down. It would be cool to be able to have whether it’s on or off. Other than that cool app. Has a lot of potential.

Hidden charge

2023-01-30

You download, set up, then see the 1.99 charge…. Can’t even test first. Just ask for you money up front.

Great app worth the $0.99

2023-03-03

Works perfectly.

People complaining this does not, simply do not understand how wake on plan works. Try using your keyboard along with Google, and learn something.

It works

2023-04-01

If your motherboard does not have WOL options in then this feature will NOT work.

Awesome app!

2023-05-03

I got Wolow to wake my PC while watching my media on my Jellyfin server. I got tired of changing my power settings to not go to sleep, and then forgetting to change it back. It didn’t work at first, but I got it working after reading the troubleshooting documentation on the dev’s website. If you don’t get it working right away, keep trying. The $1.99 premium feature is worth it to see the status of my PC and send shutdown, reboot and sleep commands if I ever need to.

Perfect, simple, easy, reliable.

Don't feel motivated to review apps as much as I should, but this one I felt the push.

Really filled the simple and sweet requirements I had. Totally worth the small payment for premium features. It works like a charm, the Siri Shortcuts integration is perfect, almost couldn't ask for more!

If I were to ask for more though, the newer form of iOS widgets would be really great. Additionally ifttt integration (if it doesn't already have it?).

Works :)

PERFECT

This is awesome!

2023-08-05

I’m planning on using steam remote play while I travel for work and needed a way to remotely turn on/off my pc. I could leave my PC on but this will save energy and also allow me to restart my pc in case the power temporarily goes out. I followed the tutorial and it works great! I just had to search how to enable WoL for my motherboard before following the tutorial. I was able to do everything in under 15 minutes as someone with a bit of experience using port forwarding and BIOS configuration

Works perfectly - Will there be any widgets for iOS soon?

2023-09-06

Great app. Works perfectly. Would love to see some iOS widgets!

This app saved my life

2023-10-08

I spent days to configure WoL, BIOS, NIC, router… it never worked as expected. Just before I quit, I changed my WoL software to this app, and it worked!!! Never imagined the problem was WoL software.

Good.

2023-11-08

Works well. The directions could’ve been a little bit more detailed for a lay person, but eventually I figured it out.

Simple, it just works and free

2023-12-10

As the title says. It was simple to setup they even have a step by step guide. The (ping) is your actual ipv4 address from your ipconfig.

It just works. And what can I say best of all it’s free!

This app is amazing

2024-01-10

I can wake up and turn on my computer while I brush my teeth and shower on the morning. Overall just a very handy thing to have. One down side is. It was a little confusing setting up just watched a tutorial on TikTok and TikTok is what inspired and told me to get Wolow .

How can i get ping ip?

2024-11-17

?

Does not work

2024-11-17

why does conf requires IP? MAC address is enough
Impossible to scroll in the setup on iPhone 6s

Help me

2024-11-17

I’m not going to give it a one star but I need help! WHAT IS A MAP ADRESS AND PING ADRESS AND WHATEVER THE OTHER STUFF IS! ALSO HOW DO I FIND IT LIKE WHERE DO I GET THAT! Help me plsss!!!

Great!

2024-11-17

Works, looks good, and is Free

- Doesn't work if pc is directly connected to router, however, works with power line adapters.
- If sub net IP 10.0.0.XXX doesnt work try 10.0.255 (worked for me)
- To that review complaining about "terrible instructions" Wolow is providing a service (free btw), not babysitting you to know how to use WOL.
