Phoenix Browser + Proxy VPN Reviews

PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN claims to offer a free unlimited vpn. It’s right there in the description. But when I click the toggle to turn on the VPN, it asks me to subscribe. It won’t turn on otherwise. Not sure if this is a bug? It shows a “VIP” tag next to vpn locations which makes it clear I would need to upgrade to a paid plan to select a location, but that tag isn’t visible to just turn on the vpn. I’d be happy to change my review once this gets fixed.

I am qualified to make these statements as my background is technical. I am well on my way to be a privacy expert as it impacts security at local levels and for people. You need consent, INFORMED CONSENT.

If you have an iPhone turn on privacy report. This is how I discovered this and test out these apps.

Go to settings
Privacy and Security
Scrolling to the bottom you will see, “App Privacy Report” . Select it
You will see App Network Activity
Here you will see that “Phoenix” is on the list.
Select this.
It says for me in the last 7 days it reached out 24 times to other sites to build a profile about me.
I have this in my setting in my iPhone.
So I will give the developer a chance to read this and respond.

Like so many app store apps I can’t use what I’ve paid for. I bought a month premium subscription, only this morning, just a few days in, PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN insists it needs an update to connect to the VPN meanwhile PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN store is reporting that it 's fully up to date (7 months ago) which is ridiculous for an app especially a browser. I would like a refund!

Browser seems to be using similar engine as Brave Browser. Brave Browser has received updates weekly for all the three months Phoenix has not , and I paid for it. So far acting like deadbeat developers.

The only browser I could find that shows a tab bar in portrait orientation, but since I can’t set it as default I won’t end up using it much

There's no desktop mode button, I can't find it anywhere in PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN . Also, there's no shortcut to delete web history and data cache, would be great to have a desktop mode button shortcut and delete all history and data button shortcut.

I go through every browser on here and their all the same, you load PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN , they work fast for a few days then they slow down.

It blocks ads well, super clean layout with a lot of screen real estate, really solid UX. The major flaw is that it doesn’t seem that you can set it as your default browser which is…weird? I’ve seen even less popular, more indie browser apps have the feature so I’m not really sure if it was just an oversight or it’s not possible for whatever reason.

Literally the only thing that’s keeping me from being able to switch completely away from both Brave and Safari.

Yes, even if it’s a different account yeah oh why you and Isaac would have to be on a different account like a different system all together that means if I want to play with that time certain time buddy you’re dead to be on a different system

I'm totally blind and use this with voiceover. I've found it to be pretty accessible, and I love that whenever there is an ad, it isn't a video ad and the close button is always easy to find. I cannot seem to ad things to my reading list, which is unfortunate. Also, it would be awesome if there were notifications so that I can know if a download is done if I am not sitting on PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN . I also wish there was one price I could pay for a lifetime membership, because I really don't want to have to pay monthly or yearly, which is why as of now, I am choosing not to pay. Keep up the good work.

It is a really fast browser and has rendered all pages accurately. I wish there was support for extensions so hopefully in a future update

I am now a Big fan of phoenix that I’ve referred to my friends and family as the best browser and ever since then there difficultly in the other web browser is all resolved by phoenix. Thanks what a great service 💯👍 I am now an ex fan to chrome and opera 🤣🤣

Good simple ui design, has everything I want recommended to download an additional file/ media player bc it’s very easy to accidentally delete a file. Pretty icon too !

My usual browser is DuckDuckGo but some search results are limited but I def recommend having that as a back up and you can set it for default browser on PhoenixBrowserProxyVPN anyways. You get free vpn which is honestly the fastest free vpn I’ve downloaded so far.

All in all it’s a nice browser and the settings let you personalize it pretty much how you would want.
