We downloaded the app and bought the cruise. Near waypoint 4, the app announced a Detour and sent us through several miles of beautiful almond orchards, to Wamble Road, then north, taking us into Oakdale. Next, to SR 108 and 10 miles east to historic Knight’s Ferry. From there, west along SR 108 to Orange Blossom Road and east along that road to end up at Knight’s Ferry again, where the app directed us to go west on SR 108, again. After nearly 4 hours on the tour, we felt we were on an endless Detour, but we had no more time available, so we quit an went home.
We enjoyed the day and the scenery, but the app was of little help.
Unlike GPS route guidance, the app gave us no sense of certainty that we were approaching or at a waypoint, street, or turn, or whether we were actually on or off of the tour route. The narrator talked, but that narrative seemed to be linked only to some of the waypoints. We would have preferred having a route map and listening to individual commentaries, keyed to waypoints, that we could call up when we wanted them.

We had difficult adjusting to the synchronization of our driving and the talk because the tape starts in the very busy streets of Santa Monica! The first three sites were frustratingly not worth all our trouble.
The jokes are not funny.
The music you have no option to turn off is irritating.
Sorry to post a bad review but it’s not well done.

Today was a Birthday Celebration for my sister and we had a great time on the YOLO, Farms and …tour. The narration along the way was entertaining and educational. While it took us a bit longer than the two hours, we stopped at a couple of place and enjoyed ourselves. The tour was a bargain in entertainment $$ and having the ability to stop when and where we wanted was convenient. Thank you Ric for your assistance when requested and for the fun!!!
PS those of us that have went on the tour have spent time in YOLO since kids attended UCD, but we never ventured like we did today. If you’re doing a college visit, take the tour for greater assessments in decision-making.
