HotClays Trap Skeet Sporting Reviews

Good app, but I’d like the Developer to add additional filter options for “Last 4 rounds”, last 8 rounds, etc. Increments of 4 would be thoughtful design aligned with end user use cases.

Most Skeet and Trap events are 4 rounds with 100 total shots, and I’d like to use HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting to track event scores with analytics, but in current configuration HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting only allows “last 5 rounds” or greater.

HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting is pretty good. Honestly, if there was a one time reasonable licensing fee instead of $30 yearly ($20/year with the 3 year up front option), I’d buy it and give it five stars. With our little crew, it did what I needed. The extra stats are cool, but nothing I can’t tabulate on Excel with minimal effort.

Been using for the last 9 months. Like the ease of use, but there is a learning curve to work through. Like the exportable products. How to use the Events function, needs better explanation. I’ve been unable to get a handle on this using the website or trial and error. Would also like the ability to export specific event stats for the individual. Still use it, will continue to use it. Do recommend it. Advice have patience and learn how HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting works and it will benefit.

Good app for keeping score at the range. Easily track scores across multiple shooters and rounds. It will export and send a scoresheet no problem. What it lacks is the ability to export one participants scores over time. This is to show that a shooter always misses #3 low house and then is 50/50 picking up on the option.
With that update would be 5-star for me.

I think a really good way to make HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting very useful is to create a way to input the name, address, phone, and other details like pricing of different clay clubs. And have a map showing where you are in relation to the nearest club.
Like that one would be able to find a club close by and have all the details and map to locate it, and the phone number to call it.

Generally works well. Has a very handy Apple Watch app so you can score a round without taking your phone out of your pocket.

Biggest complaint is that you apparently can’t edit the “event” a “round” is part of, and the UI for deleting the round is non-obvious. (Took me a while to figure out you needed to drag to the left to delete.)

I initially gave this a 1 star review but found out I was at fault. I downloaded HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting and was super disappointed because I couldn’t mark hits or misses. I was assuming it would auto fill them into the stations. Found out it was user error and you had to set the stations up before hand which makes sense, but there was no indicator of that while I was having issues. All in all it definitely is a fantastic app that I’m super excited to use this weekend only recommendation is having a quick help guide or tutorial for new clay shooters like myself. :)

The Hot Clays APP has now become my favorite go to scoring APP for shot gun sports. I have used several of the other APPs but with the new updates Hot Clays does everything you need in a very user friendly easy to use form

You can inter and save your favorite Sporting Clays course (everyone is different) so. It having to enter this every time is great.

You can see if you are shooting Report Pair, True Pair, etc

Larger easy to read in the sun lettering.

You can add shooters on the fly without them having to get HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting . This is great for casual groups to form.

You can e-mail score to people in the group and it shows up in a traditional score card format.

Has most common shot gun sports games pre-loaded.

Great product, would highly recommend.

Easy to use, no paper blowing around.

Bring a I pad or tablet and it’s even better.

I emailed support with an issue about it not loading on my older watch model and he fixed it! Amazing support, and very very cool to have this on a watch while shooting!

HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting is simple and works great. Especially useful with an Apple Watch. I really like it for when I go out shooting alone. Easy to keep score and save results.

I recently got into sporting clays and discovered HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting by pure luck… loved it. Afterwards I downloaded easily 10 other apps and determined this was hands down the best. 10/10 and thank you for creating!

Uhmmm, how can I get my old scores back from the last app?!?! Love HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting , lost about 2 years worth of scores! Which is the only reason for the rating...

I coach a school trap team and HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting has saved me so much time in evaluating each shooter’s weakness, scoring trend, and overall performance.

Also, it helps me too. Especially like the feature that allows for singles, handicap and doubles.

Whether you only shoot one discipline or everything, this is the best app I’ve seen. When someone has an idea to make it better, they are on it immediately. The new addition to 5 stand is great!

I just started using HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting for Olympic trap scoring and training and it’s great. It’s simple to use and I love that it also gives you stats so you can see which targets or stations tend to give you issues.

HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting is a perfect way to keep track of not just one shooter, but the whole team. It’s easy to look back on past scores to see improvement and to see which station a shooter is struggling with. A huge shoutout to the creator!

I really liked the previous HotClays Trap app that migrated to the new Hot Clays. The new app is even better! Less clicks, and more intuitive. On a whim, I kicked an email to ask about migrating my info from the old app to the new and they answered immediately and were able to help. Chris was extremely helpful and attentive. Now I can get back to scoring my kids’ trap season!

Now if only there were an easy to update scores on the watch so I didn’t have to open my phone......

Update 12/17: Great developer support as well as today’s update includes an interface for updating scores on the watch. The interface seems simple and what you’d expect to be usable on the watch - can’t wait to try it out.

I’ve been shooting longer than I care to admit, but I always wondered why shotgun shooters were forgotten by developers and left to carry the clipboards while the center-fire shooting and golf industries executed technology better than most other field sports.

Two years ago I scoured HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting Store for applications to do just what HotClays finally offers now to shooters in shotgun disciplines. After using HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting for a few rounds at my local sporting clays course, I realized toting the clipboard around and fumbling the pencil was a complete waste of time and just silly.

HotClaysTrapSkeetSporting has gotten so much positive attention in the clubhouse and is intuitive enough that even the non-technical clipboard crowd “gets it”.

Excellent support and a positive upgrade history make HotClays a good addition to my kit.

Great app!!! The Premium upgrade is definitely worth it if you shoot 3+ times a month. Way better than carrying a clipboard around. Especially in windy, damp conditions and/or with many shooters.
