Super slick app and my playgroup loves it. However, it has a critical and fundamental issue - if you have the option enabled to auto subtract life when applying commander damage, the actual commander damage reverts to zero in some unpredictable way.
To be clear, we will swipe to assign commander damage. Add 4 points of damage using the controls for the attacking commander. Go back to the main screen and see the life total has been appropriately reduced.
But then, at some later time, when applying damage from that same commander to that same player, the existing commander damage will read 0.
This maybe isn’t a bug in the default mode where you need to subtract all damage from health and then also record how much of it was done by the commander. Not sure, because we haven’t used that mode.
It’s a shame that we can use this really nice app for total health pool tracking but it is useless for tracking commander damage.
Moxtopper itself runs great. Me and my freinds always use Moxtopper when playing magic but it takes some time, so after playing for too long I now have permanent screen burn in.
It is such a beautiful app but there is one thing that could be added that would make it the best. The one thing I see is first, when adding commander damage, it automatically subtracts the health. Other then that, this feels and looks like the best tapper there is on the market
Been using Moxtopper for nearly a year now. Its perfect.

- option for commander dmg to remove total health
- ability to change default starting life totals
- little life total graph that shows up during odd number player games
- winning / losing animations

- spin the wheel animation for the dice roll feature would end any best app debates we have in our pod 🙏🏿

this app is the best to use for magic the gathering because it is easy it is cool for what you can do on it and it works great👍🏻

This is a great looking app. The UI is very intuitive and there are plenty of player seating arrangement options. Would love to be able to pay for more counter options (ex: poison counters).

Surprised Moxtopper is buried in the list when it’s clearly better looking. Easier to use than the ones with pay features.
I still love Moxtopper! Reliable, legible, and very easy to use. My only gripe is that when you mark commander damage, it doesn’t deduct from your life total, so you have to do it twice.
Counts commander damage separately, can be set up for 1-10 players and is really easy to use. The one 4 star review about price of custom playmats say it was 25$ but it’s only 5 now and for more of the apps mats it’s only 1. But you can just use colors or the standard mats for free and it’s just super easy and works really well.
I played a few games with my dad and a few with my friends and it worked perfectly! Everybody loved it! I asked them all why they loved it so I could write this review easier, and the principal ideas that were most popular were
1. Being able to track two different commander damages at one time
2. Being able to track commander damage at all!
That’s right, I haven’t found any app better at tracking commander damage!
Moxtopper is AMAZING! It even gives you a tutorial! It is easy to use and you can even be able to change your theme!

Just in case you didn’t already know, in the “Commander” format of Magic: the Gathering, you and your friends battle each other with legendary creatures, huge decks of crazy cards, making splashy plays until there’s only one player left standing.
• If you’re using partner commanders, just swipe down on your play area and press the “Partners” button to toggle partner commander mode on or off.
• Keep track of in-game numbers like commander tax, infect, storm, experience, energy, mana pools, and more using the player options menu (swipe down on your player to see these options).
