I brought the coaster for my boyfriend and I wish I had looked at the app reviews before I got this.
DO NOT BUY THIS until they update this app. The app is the key to the coaster really being useful and all I have to say I am returning the coaster first thing Monday morning. It has soooo many bugs. We spent hours trying to scan our bar for only 4 things to register (our bar consists of 61 different types of liquors) then looking for a recipe ha good luck with that and trying to use the app to make your own nope. We looked for simple drink recipes like mimosas (not there) and others not there. I am so upset because this is such a fantastic idea and all they need to do is get people to update the app. I know people who would love to update this app. I hope this review helps

Got the coaster as a birthday gift for my hard to buy for dad. He loves it but the app does not progress even though the scale (coaster) is working. There are no forward/back options and it’s hard to exit the drink once you’re in “craft” mode so you just have to remember the order of the ingredients so the coaster helps you measure properly.
The app hasn’t been updated in 4 months and it clearly needs major overhaul. The coaster is connected and knows what’s going on but the app simply does not. It’s an expensive toy so I would recommend using the app for the recipes and skipping the coaster unless there is significant improvement.

I have had the Barsys coaster for just about a year now. It has gotten to the point that it just sits in a drawer unused because every time I try to use it, there is another issue with this app. In recent weeks, I’ve been bombarded with emails from Barsys, so I thought, “maybe they’ve actually redesigned their app and are making a concerted effort at customer support. WRONG! I cannot even log in to the app anymore, nor can I reset my password. Before spending $100 on their coaster, you may want to consider the fact that it is unusable until they get a app that actually works.
