CaminoNinjaApp, like Buen Camino, is just okay.
You can select where you are starting, and where you are going. It will show you what will be at each stop. But, not on the map. You have to jump back and forth to your route to see whatโs available. Hostel in this village, great! Where is it? Ninja is silent as no location shows on the map.
Open map, you can see here you are. Great! Letโs zoom out so we can get a fuller view of where weโve been and whatโs coming.
No, says the ninja. you must always look at where you are as it forcefully zooms back in.
So for route planning, a โCโ. As a great Camino App, โDโ.

It was the only app I used on the Camino. It was cool to see Andy out walking the Camino while programming CaminoNinjaApp . Iโd recommend it!

I like having a few apps with me, and Iโd add this one too. Good basic information, for a variety of Camino routes. Thanks!

Am a bit more than halfway through walking the Caminho Portugues da Costa and this has been basically the only app I have used to plan my journey, get ideas for hostels to stay at along the way, etc. Has been absolutely invaluable and provided all of the information I need, including a very exact map that provided a couple of alternative routings that take you through more shaded/scenic routes than the official Camino, which has been great especially with a few very hot days of walking so far. However, unsure if CaminoNinjaApp will continue to be updated as the developer, Andy Max Jensen, tragically passed away while walking the Camino about a month ago. Huge loss for the Camino community, and forever grateful to him for providing such a fantastic, free resource. May he rest.

This was a great resource for hiking from Sarria to Santiago on the French route. I did almost prep before coming and CaminoNinjaApp helped give me all the necessary info I needed to know. Really likes the elevation tool, it always let me know what to expect for the day. Also, appreciated CaminoNinjaApp letting me know where places to stop along the way.
