Not as expected and now annoying

I downloaded SHLF as I was interested in getting updates on new papers being published in an array of scientific interests, but it is not that. The community is the same thing you see on Twitter and LinkedIn with a number of “influencers” posting pseudo scientific media articles about potential discoveries or over blown titles about scientific news. That was all well and good for some but not what I was interested in so I had them delete my account, which was fairly simple. The reason for the bad review is it’s now been a few weeks since deletion and they keep emailing me lists/updates/things to check out and it’s become a bother. Don’t sign up for this unless you are absolutely sure you want it.

No more emailing myself article links to read!

When I see an article I want to read but don’t have time that moment I use to email it to myself, and... never actually read it. I now can organize everything I want to check out in one place and go to bookshlf when I have that extra few mins.

Awesome to see what others are posting too! So many good book recommendations, TV shows and corky articles I wouldn’t ever see otherwise!

Social Media done right

If you’re like me, you get a lot of your news, journalism, and reading from the internet. Finding good stuff can be really hard—most social media platforms have failed as media sources (too much drama, dumb AI curation, thoughtless hot-takes, etc). Bookshlf is a welcomed alternative to all those other platforms.

If your looking for a way to discover and share enlightening, entertaining, and engaging content curated by interesting people, join the Bookshlf community!

Really great and useful app!!

Bookshlf is fantastic because it allows me to store and organize my own content, while also intentionally following accounts with content that is relevant and exciting for me. I often feel so overwhelmed on social media with the amount of articles/videos/books/etc. available and Bookshlf allows me to focus on what I really enjoy and explore what’s interesting to me. Definitely recommend!

Bookshlf is fantastic

Love bookshlf! I spend a lot of time on twitter because I get a lot of content from a huge group of users, but I can’t cut through the retweets, the quick cheap laughs, and the overwhelming amount of posts to get to just good content. Bookshlf has changed that by allowing me to get just great content from the people I follow. Looking forward to getting more users on the platform to increase the great curated content!

A map of good content

It’s a fun place to find new music, new books, art, movies, etc. If you follow someone with the same taste as you, you can find good recommendations without having to flip aimlessly through the endless abyss of the internet. It’s like someone holding your hand and guiding you to the songs you’ll love.

“Sign in with Facebook” Not Working

I’m sure SHLF will be great. Have a had a lot of recommendations for it. Just wanted to point out an issue I was having where it does not actually sign you in when you tell SHLF to sign you in using Facebook

Organization and sharing at its best

SHLF has been amazing for organizing ideas and media I want to hang on to and for sharing and discovering. It’s unlike any other app in my rotation. You get to see a different, more thoughtful side of your friends and family than on other social platforms.

Social Media Evolved

Bookshlf takes the conversational exchange of mass social media networks and elevates it. The use cases are kind of endless, but I use Bookshlf as an alternative to Good Reads, with far better functionality and a more intuitive user experience

Bookshlf

Really enjoying SHLF. Gives me an opportunity to get all my news and Social media content on to one platform and I can categorize and keep my self organized.

Big fan

Platform with actually inspiring and thought provoking content rather than Bikini influencer photos and fake news.

Great alternative to Pinterest - more focused

Kinda seems a bit like a Pinterest ripoff at first, but as I’m starting to use it I think I like this more than Pinterest. Simply sharing a link is a lot easier than having to locate a photo to rip off of another site to use for your own post - and Pinterest is cluttered with lots of reposting of other people’s pins. Bookshlf is more streamlined and focused for specific types of media sharing rather than just being a catch-all.
