Great App!

I was looking for an app to mess around with outfit designs so I could learn how to match clothing better and learn more about what I like. A lot of other apps are clunky or have weird interfaces. Also, as a guy, I found many of the other apps to be geared mainly toward women (which is fine, it’s just a bit off-putting to login to an app and immediately be bombarded with suggestions for female clothing when I am not looking for it). SaveYourWardrobe is simple, it lets me add pictures of my own clothes or outfits I found on Google, it’s intuitive, and it allows me to customize my designs with tags so I can organize them appropriately which I really like. If you just want to design outfits whether it be with clothing you own or clothing you found somewhere else, use SaveYourWardrobe. Definitely recommend 👍

Very Informative and Fun

I am really enjoying SaveYourWardrobe. It took me a while to initially upload all of my wardrobe pieces, but in the end creating and saving my outfits, seeing how each piece can be styled with other items in my wardrobe, and tracking the clothes’ care instructions based on composition is actually pretty useful. I only wish that I could easily switch accounts without going through the full login process, in order to toggle between my wardrobe and that of my son and my husband and that SaveYourWardrobe could upload data directly from online links from my favorite stores.

Promising!

Love the focus on sustainability with SaveYourWardrobe, which is why I downloaded this instead of another closet planning app. I appreciate seeing Good On You ratings for clothes, but there’s no option to mark if you got a certain item secondhand, which changes how sustainable that purchase was. The photos taken in-app are also blurry, and there’s no way to manually focus to make sure they turn out clearer. Maybe a small thing, but I wish he photos were higher quality. Lastly, I wish outfits could be depicted in one photo, like a collage, with the ability to tap to view the individual items, rather than only showing the items side by side. Overall a good, free app to organize my closet and get insight into my outfits and wardrobe preferences.

Great app, just a few suggestions

SaveYourWardrobe is great, no bugs or anything. The only thing I would say it needs is an option to put the outfit you made in a order to make it look like how it would look on. An example, the shirt on the top, pants on bottom, hat above shirt, etc. But overall a great app

Almost there

I am trying out SaveYourWardrobe in hopes that I can get a better grip on my wardrobe, and I was drawn to this one for the sustainability aspect. However I'm a bit disappointed there isn't a way to mark something as secondhand. It would be really cool to have perspective about how much of my stuff I got used as opposed to new.

Also, sizing is a bit weird. I am in the US and it's always a grab bag as to whether the sizes are going to match. Like for a shirt that is size xs, but the only options are to select 0, 2, 4.... but then I have some pants that are size 0 and then the options are in waist sizes. Other than these things it seems like it's on its way.

Good app

Great application! However, as I own a lot of clothing which is sold by United States retailers, I am having some issues getting eco conscious ratings for some of my clothing. I understand this is still a new app, but it would be nice to have more ratings for more brands, or to score ratings based on the fibers and dyes in the closet rather than the brands that are purchased from.

I understand the brand part is important as well, but for those of us who purchase from less trend oriented brands (or sew and dye our own clothing!) this would be a nice addition!

Calendar doesn’t work, missing categories

The idea is good, I absolutely love some of the features, but the main appeal of an app like this is keeping track of when/where you wore an outfit. I’ve tried to correct it again and again but the calendar refuses to show the outfit icon on the proper date on the calendar, it always shows it on the day before. Also, categories are missing (vests) (capris), and the ability to add our own categories would be great!

Awesome app!!

Great way to look at what items you owe to create outfits!

10/10 app

Love SaveYourWardrobe! Just one question how do I add clothes to folders I have already made, cannot seem to figure it out?

By

Buggy - keeps freezing

Concept is great but it keeps freezing when trying to add wardrobe items

What’s the point of this app?

You download all your garments, but then come to realize the calendar application of SaveYourWardrobe doesn’t work. I schedule a date for an outfit and SaveYourWardrobe chooses to do it’s own thing. SaveYourWardrobe should save you time, not make it harder.

Love this app/wish I could add brands

I love SaveYourWardrobe. I hope they update it so that we can add our own brands or categories for clothes. Thanks!

wish it worked!

made an account and wasn't able to sign in (phone just vibrates) -- disappointed as this seems like the most promising closet app in terms of interface, and i love the sustainability focus. hope this can be fixed soon!

Does not consider time

SaveYourWardrobe doesn’t allow you to input how much time you’ve owned a piece, so ratings about your wardrobe’s sustainability are mostly superficial and related to brand, not whether or not you’ve kept your clothes from going in the dumpster. Many sustainability problems have to do with waste.

A Reformation dress that you wear once and throw away is not necessarily sustainable, even though the brand rates very highly on SaveYourWardrobe.

It’s a well designed enough app, with some cool features, but for anyone whose been into sustainability for a while, it lacks nuance. SaveYourWardrobe seems mostly like a way to encourage shoppers to buy expensive brands, which not all of us can afford.

An H&M shirt that you’ve had for five years is still sustainable - in its own way. The most important part is keeping your clothes and caring for them in whatever way you can to avoid creating waste.

If you’re new to these concepts SaveYourWardrobe might be fun, if not, I wouldn’t recommend it for the purposes of sustainability.

I can’t comment on the other features as I’ve always done my own alterations and therefore did not try the hire a tailor option.

Incredibly useful

I love organizing things and I want to make an effort to consume less. SaveYourWardrobe helps me keep track of what I own and how I can use it. I really appreciate that it’s free without ads as well.
My only issue with it is that the clothing categories in the womenswear section are a bit limited.

Useful but poor functioning

I love SaveYourWardrobe and I probably have used it everyday since I downloaded it 9 months ago. It’s so convenient seeing my closet and having SaveYourWardrobe remove the background of my photos. That’s a great feature. I also like that it categorizes that clothing, tells you what percent of your wardrobe you wear, tells you how good the brand is, let’s you create outfits, and lots more. I will say, SaveYourWardrobe really lacks in its speed and is technologically behind. It lags regardless of my wifi connection and you cannot easily go through one section of SaveYourWardrobe to the other. If SaveYourWardrobe was fast running I would love SaveYourWardrobe more than life itself.

Not user friendly interface

I wanted to love SaveYourWardrobe but after using it for over a year I’m giving up. The user interface is not compatible for easy use, picture boxes for clothes are far too big and often crop images weirdly. I understand The focus is on sustainability but there’s far too many things going on at once to make it an easy to use and navigate closet app like I wanted. The design could use some serious streamlining and easier filter and folder methods and organization

Great but could use one update

I absolutely love SaveYourWardrobe. However, I wanted to download an app so that after I upload my clothes it would give me an option for SaveYourWardrobe to give me a recommended outfit or a randomized outfit. I love what SaveYourWardrobe has so far but almost every other app has this feature and I think if SYW had this feature, I would definitely recommend this for my friends.

Can SYW and Whering Combine Forces

Save Your Wardrobe: has a good item entry field for fabric content AND to record care/washing instructions (though wish these were incorporated in data/stats, especially how cool could it be if it told you which things could be in shared washloads??), includes Good On You sustainability ratings for brands (though database is v limited), crashes sadly often and has glitches in size options, has no background remover, pre-populated database lacking most brands, produces great and easy-to-access data on brands in your wardrobe, wardrobe footprint, and percentage worn, has a sustainability focus with featured blogs etc. (tho won’t let me unlock it w/o checking out their tailoring/repair services which are only in London and I’m not even on that continent lol).

Whering: is mostly glitch free, has a pretty good auto background remover, makes collaging and putting together outfits a breeze, has a good database of brands already (though typing to search sometimes doesn’t work), has an okay database of generic clothing items (but only things & cuts that are currently super trendy), has a sustainability focus with used item listings featured, allows you to tag items as used or not. (Still UK oriented. Which is fine.)

Could y’all please just compare notes? Join forces??? Whering works better but doesn’t give me a bunch of the cool data I want from SYW. SYW has image and database and UI issues but really great data and closest metrics. Y’all both have sustainability focus. Please???

Suspect this app is just to get personal info

I downloaded SaveYourWardrobe because it sounded like a great way to track my wardrobe for sustainability, use of various clothing items, and to put together outfits visually in order to quickly browse through pre-made looks so I don’t have to think about it the day of.

When trying to sign up, I first selected to sign up via email. I immediately received the email to verify, but when I clicked on the link it took me to SaveYourWardrobe to the same page that tells me to look for the verification email. After trying a few times, I manually selected to open in safari and was given a page telling me my email had been successfully verified and to return to SaveYourWardrobe and login. When I tried to it wouldn’t let me. Thinking I must have entered the password incorrectly when signing up, I tried to select forgot password. It said it would send me another email with a link, but I never received one. After trying multiple times, checking my junk folder, and waiting 10 minutes, I decided to try signing up with google instead as it may be an easier process. In order to sign up via Google SaveYourWardrobe wanted access to view and search my emails. That seems really sketch to me and I wasn’t comfortable with that at all. I tried one last time to recover my password before I finally just deleted SaveYourWardrobe from my phone. I’m really disappointed because it seems like a great concept but upon further inspection now seems to be a way for them to phish your info.

My Closet Reimagined

I love the concept of SaveYourWardrobe. I downloaded SaveYourWardrobe to help me keep track of all my garments and it allows me to see sustainability reports of brands — though this feature could be improved. I enjoy seeing my 'wardrobe' all in one place as it keeps me conscious about the products I wear. Usually, I don't see all my garments in my physical wardrobe as they are tucked away, so seeing them digitally helps me further organize my wardrobe. A few concerns and suggestions: The 'services' tab appear catered to more well-known locations and I find it lacking. I live in a relatively unknown suburban area so it does not return any viable results in my area. Echoing another reviewer's suggestion, I would also like an option to mark garments as second hand purchases. I have many second hand pieces in my wardrobe and would like to incorporate them into SaveYourWardrobe as such. Aside from that, I am quite satisfied with the current features. Excited to see where this goes. Great work!

Easy simple closet app

I was overwhelmed with the closet organization/fashion apps. After reading some reviews, I chose this one and I’m glad I did. I’ve only had it for short time and I’ve only uploaded a few items but so far I think this is going to be exactly what I was looking for. I wanted some thing where I could add wardrobe items and make outfits, and add them to my calendar so that I could plan out my work wardrobe in advance based on events, weather, etc. I do not plan to painstakingly catalog everything at once, but as I wear things, and when I find time, I am snapping the pics so far, I’ve had no trouble with the background remover. It’s not great, but not terrible either I don’t need it to be awesome.
