False claims

This starts off telling you basic is free. Then every time you attempt use it refers you to payment page.

Unfortunate

I purchased deviceOwl and paid for the “Advanced Version”. Not a bunch of money but deviceOwl doesn’t allow for any object not on the list. Plus, if you’re not in about a foot of the device, it cannot check it. Finally, when you have a huge unit like a computer or air conditioner face, the camera sensor doesn’t allow for expansion to get the whole unit. I tried a Wi-Fi unit, a fire alarm, and deviceOwl didn’t recognize either. Sadly, beside the monetary loss, I have to look elsewhere for a device that works. Good luck.

Does NOTHING. USELESS.

Cant ever get it to even scan anything! And I did everything necessary to try to get this to function: gave it/allowed access to my iPhone camera, updated the consumer device knowledge base, etc., but then, every time I attempt to scan any devices it just pops up another message saying it needs to update the device knowledge base. So don’t download deviceOwl unless you’re looking to waste a bunch of time n effort going around n around in a vicious loop of futile finger tappings.

Very disappointed

I’m looking for hidden devices. If I have to see a device to point my phone toward and identify the device , I already know the device is there. deviceOwl is useless

Can’t even detect the spy cam looking at it while it’s recording

This is horrible, doesn’t work at all. I texted it with multiple things and it didn’t detect a darn thing that I knew about let all alone anything else that I may have not known about-which was why I bought deviceOwl . I wish I could get a refund. I cancelled subscription within an hour of trying deviceOwl but it’s to late, I’m locked in until next year! Scam! I’d give it zero stars if I could.

Don’t get not even 1 star but I had to put something

Horrible does nothing wish I would have looked closer at the reviews. Don’t get it they just scan you they should be shut down.

Tried to go by appearance of devices🤨

Uses camera to try to go by the appearance of devices, if real or not supposedly. Also instantly went to taking up too much memory.

Upgrade

Just upgraded and now it keeps booting me out. Paying for an upgraded version but getting a version less user friendly than the original….🤨

Cannot identify common household objects

It is nice to see an app that allows you to check to see if it functions without asking for a credit card *first* which gets deviceOwl a couple of stars right there. So far, I have checked two items. The first, a standard ceiling light, seen in every residence in the Western Hemisphere, cannot be identified by deviceOwl. I cannot recall if I had these in Hong Kong-thought I did which really begs the question, if they are truly ubiquitous, why does deviceOwl not id them? Also it doesn’t id a stereo, just boom boxes. Stereos are arguably more common. deviceOwl doesn’t have a category for either of these on its list. If I find something it does identify, I will change the rating.

Seems okay

deviceOwl has potential to be a good detection app. However, it could not accurately figure out my Bose Sound Revolve speaker. Nor did it have in its list regular “Bluetooth speaker” only “smart speaker” or “boom box” options.

Confused

I don’t know if I did something wrong but it detected 3 smoke alarms when I photographed my floor 2 when I took a picture of the wall

Okay, every time I try to leave a review about this it messes up when I’m texting and submits it?

I’m not sure if this is a phone problem anymore or a problem with your app, but you can remove this review. If someone responds to me about why your prompts aren’t working. deviceOwl is not updated to work well with the Apple because I keep hitting, but that it won’t acknowledge about doing the software update for Travel, allowing it to use cell data is like touching is still framed photo literally it does absolutely nothing and I have no idea if it’s going to work but I’m really more concerned now about my phone being hacked or deviceOwl being a little bit on the Microsoft wonky side and Not qualified for iPhone iOS updates because it just does not respond like it used to and it’s gotten worse love deviceOwl it save my life but come on guys like why is this so difficult? I can’t even leave a review without my phone getting weird about it. It needs to have responses at work when I touch “proceed” trying to allow download and it needs to have reactions as well when I try to recover my account I mean I seriously paid for this. This is ridiculous. You can remove this system. Someone can help me because if this is a problem with my phone that’s possible but I really doubt it at this point. Please make sure everything is set to work at the highest standard because I do remember deviceOwl worked way better and I’ve reinstalled it still a mess these days worse than I ever remember. And if you see my other review, I don’t know what’s up with this but it started typing things I wasn’t saying and closed on me

Great idea

Great idea but needs a larger database. I have only come across a couple items that the a.I. Has recognized. One being a clock that ended up having no surveillance device inside, but I feel if the database keeps being expanded this could be a very handy app. So please keep on expanding and make deviceOwl great if easily give 5 stars if it recognized more!

DeviceOwl

I love it can i try the advanced version for a free trial of a day at least

Respectfully Submitted.

Great App

deviceOwl is awesome. I love it! 🤩It has not been wrong so far! 10 ⭐️’s

DeviceOwl

Pretty good app so far

Hidden device

Got me very much interesting things about deviceOwl cause for myself I think it works perfectly

Wise bird !

Firstly, I thought it was just another app that bluffed. However, I was sold when it detected my smoke alarm and showed me the brand and its functionality that I wasn't aware of. Good job!

Travel buddy

I started to travel more often post-Covid. I found the detection gets better and showed me more stuff. When it spots something weird, then I can take action to prevent being recorded. Ty ! my travel buddy ^^

Great Working App

Works exactly like it says it will great app to use must buy
