Trading card game that blocks trading

It is a cute idea and was fun. The recent update blocks meaningful trades. That is the dumbest idea the developer could come up with for a trading card game. The trade meter was fine as a suggestion to help people who are not sure. They have a meter babying and holding their hand and forcing them to click agree if it deems it one sided. But, people often intentionally make one sided trades otherwise why trade. It is not possible to write an algorithm that knows what trades people want to do. I give a lot more for a cards I want right now and so do others. I could spend hours trying to find trades that boost my position through wheeling and dealing and that is part of the fun with trading card games. I would trade when I did not want a particular card to try to get better cards for the cards people want so that I could have value when I wanted a card. I would never do an even trade just because someone wants a card I have and I have duplicates. Fusions for limited is a common trade I used to make that many people with duplicates are fine with for instantly getting card. Many people won’t but who cares you move on to someone who will until two people mutual agree on deal despite the meter. Disproportionate trades are literally the reason trading is relevant in a trading card game. I think it is a cash grab to block the ability for free users to get better cards to try to sell more packs.

Avoid this game

3 week player here that got banned for trading. Game is definitely pay to play. You’ll probably pull 1-2 limited* legendary being free to play. I got lucky and didn’t have to spend so much because I pulled the ultimate grail at the very beginning, which is their “Dragon” card. I got finessed, and traded that for 4 mythic cards and broke it down. Then got banned for making those trades, I thought that was reasonable to me. What’s the point of having a trade system if people can’t trade how they want ? Over 5000+ cards and you only get to trade up to 4 cards at max. You see the same ol 20 cards being traded back n forth. By the same ol people. These developers are full of themselves. Their the ones giving out and making these trades whenever they want. They be having 100+ copies of 1 card and being greedy not trying to trade them away. Yet yall tripping about how I trade ? Or is it because I didn’t spend enough ? Or is it because i made it to the top 20 in rank and didn’t have to spend an arm an a leg ? People have options to click yes or no for a reason you know ? Worst experience I’ve had with a game. Send me my refund if yall would.

Fun but Flying Cloud is BROKEN

The games super fun but don’t even bother touching ranked (Leagues) unless you have the flying cloud card. It is pretty cheap for what it does. I’ve had that card alone do over 300 damage (power?) to me in one turn. It costs FIVE. Then you combine it with other cards on top of that? A card like that shouldn’t exist in the game. 100 power PERMANENTLY added to the card just for being returned to your deck? Tuh, bffr. :|
Some options for nerfs that I would recommend for the card:
1. Just lower the power gained to like 50 or so.
2. Keep power gained at 100 but make it cost more and/or make it only activate if you win the turn.
3. Lower power gained to 25 but make it 0 cost or 1 cost.
I don’t know. Something like that? Maybe the last one is too weak but the card right now is just insanely broken. I don’t want the card and I don’t have it so everyone I fight who has it just automatically wins. What’s the point in playing if I am just guaranteed to lose against that card?

To put it into perspective some more. I fought a guy 3 times in League matches. (Not in a row, I just recognized his name and it was over the span of 2 days.) The first two matches, he didn’t have the card, I won but it was a close game both times and felt really fair. Then out of nowhere I fight him a third time and he just kept spamming Flying Cloud every time it appeared in his hand. He did 500+ to me in one turn when I had a lead. Please tell me that’s fair. Like seriously.

Pay to Win Trash

It’s fun at first, when the game actually puts you against winnable opponents. But after a good 8 or so matches you start getting put up against opponents with 6 legendary cards in their decks. Theres this one card, Martin Luther King Jr., That costs three energy and gives off 19 power. Not too bad right? Except for the fact that this three energy card gives 20 power to every other card, including itself, that gets played. Effectively turning a “3 energy card” into a card that supplies 79 power… in other words, a card that’s stronger than every single common/rare card that’s costs under 8 energy. There’s also this stupid cat card, another legendary, that is 120 power, you’d think it would cost like 12 energy, but it only costs 8. THATS 15 POWER PER ENERGY SPENT?? Meanwhile my normal cards cost 7 energy and drop a maximum of 90 Power. And then once I play them I end up losing like 50 energy. This game forces you to pay money for legendary cards to win against other players that have a bunch of legendary cards. There’s no strategy in this game. Just pair up a couple of cards and drop a few legendaries in there and you won’t lose against anyone who hasn’t spent money on the game. Which spoiler alert, is a good 95% of the player base.

Bummer Return

I played consistently multiple times a day for a couple of months, but eventually was turned off by the inability to collect/earn the cards I actually wanted, along with a daily/weekly task system that would challenge me to use a category of cards I didn’t have and had no way to get. I saw that there were updates to try to balance cards that were available in game, and I came back. It was a really big bummer to come back in and see that the individual packs that guarantee at least 2 cards from a subcategory were gone. I don’t have funds to put into the game and I don’t have the time I did to grind into earning gems with daily/weekly tasks that are near impossible with beginner cards. Collecting at random from a misc pack isn’t as fun and neither is dumping almost 200 gems on the giant categories for 6 cards. I like the idea of the game, and I liked the matchmaking mechanics until I couldn’t accomplish the daily/weekly tasks at all. Hopefully your patches work and you can bring back daily subcategory packs.

Game get boring quick

There’s 5,000 cards to collect, but only three decks you will play with after awhile. Regular addition of new cards to the game is great but unless your willing to throw money at gotcha mechanics or try and find a trade from the insufferable players who will always overvalue their own cards, don’t bother with trying to get those new cards. After a few weeks you will learn what two or three decks everyone else is playing with and what two or three cards you need to be competitive. The game then becomes trying to get this two or three cards you need only to see them buried in your deck and you opponent gets theirs before you, causing you to rethink your choice of playing this game.
Game rewards you enough with gotcha spins, daily logins, event rewards and level exp to make it seem nice to load the game up, but these do not off set the need for rarer powerful cards everyone else playing against you seem to have. Almost like matchmaking tries it’s best to make you want to spend money to catch up, only to feel like your still behind.

Bust out your wallet

It’s a card game. So collecting all available cards is part of the game. Well they offer new cards daily, most of the time the packs have a couple of really desirable cards but are limited cards and only available for a short time, sometimes only one day. How do you collect all the cards? You have to have diamonds or coins to buy themed packages of random cards. While there are daily earnings, you will not have enough to chase down a pack containing new cards without having bought some diamonds for cash. The trade system is a nice and easy way to trade cards with other players. Be careful trading, there is always the chance that you are coming out on the short end of a trade. Now the actual gameplay is easy to learn, easy to play, but it takes some time and effort to build a strong deck, and some of that goes back to card collection. Anyway, fun game, but as it is a collection game, you will most likely break down and buy some gems with real money.

Enjoyable, but very limited gameplay leaves much to be desired

CUE is informative, colorful, and the cards are great fun to collect.
But. When it comes to actual gameplay, it lacks the depth and fluidity an experienced card game player would expect, and leaves me disappointed.

The ranked gameplay system is entirely broken. The game matches you randomly with players of all kinds of skill sets. Whoever is available, that is who you play against, and if the wait is too long you just get matched against a bot.
The result is matched games where you either absolutely stomp a boring bot who plays with no strategy, or get steamrolled by a much better deck and have no chance of even competing.
The experience is extremely frustrating.

Additionally the best players are the ones who pay. It’s inevitable for this kind of game. The pay wall is quite high, and a casual player has no chance against someone whose deck is stacked with fusions and ultra rare cards.

The strategy mechanics are shallow compared to other titles. You’re pretty much limited to: combos, power boost, power drain, energy boost, and energy drain. The card’s interactions with each other is extremely limited. Pushing a power bar back and forth gets old very quickly.
Over time the game begins to feel repetitive and kind of dull.

My opinion: the concept is superb, but the game needs a total overhaul before it can start approaching mass appeal. 3/5

Easy, Unique, Needs More

So, I’ve been playing card games for years. Big magic player, big hearthstone player, Shadowverse, plants vs zombies heroes to name a few more. Saw an add for this and thought this looks interesting and for as easy as it is, it’s definitely got a fun kick too it. The cards are fun to mix and match and figuring out what goes together to get you the most point is fun, plus it’s fairly FTP. I invested $20 and ended up getting a lot of cards out of that being packs are cheap and it’s nice they have them separated by theme to make it easier to acquire cards. The trading system is also cool, it’s nice to finally see some type of trading system in a game. My only thing, and it isn’t bad being this is a new game, is hopefully in time they come out with new mechanics and strategies. Right now the best strategies involve ramping into a ton of energy to have big swing turns, or playing cards that drain your opponents energies or points. Granted that’s the point of the game to win based off points and using your energy wisely, but hopefully in time we will see some new strategies and mechanics that go above just energy and points. So far though I’m having fun with the game and am working my way up to master class. Can’t wait to see what else they do with the game.

Game is ok

I just recently began playing and was having a good time scratching that collection itch type game. Even to the point of paying some actual money. However, after a recent issue with the game that made it unplayable for a time. I can no longer access the additional content. I can get no extra gems, spins on the wheel, etc. I even opened a ticket and got two canned response emails followed by an email from “Rich” and then radio silent. Nothing ever heard back. If this gets addressed in a timely manner I would love to revisit my rating till then, this is very poor support. Thank you.

Update 1: The support team returned my emails and explained the situation. We are working through the current issue affecting my account and I have hope this will be addressed in due time.

Update 2: The issue affecting the enjoyment of the game has been resolved. I thank the support team working through their shortage issue. Thank you again.

Best mobile card game, BUT…

I’ve been playing this game for about 2 weeks now, and I’m in love with it. The problem is that certain mechanics decide when they want to work and when they don’t. For example: the Sitting Bull card gives each card in your hand a +25 power boost if you lost the turn. I use that card in my main deck, but it’s ability will trigger even if you won the turn so long as your opponent so much as takes over in points before your points are even calculated. In the spirit of fair play, that’s just broken. A similar issue happens with cards that rely on you winning/losing to trigger their abilities. Sometimes when the actual intended outcome happens, there’s basically like a 70/30 chance the abilities won’t trigger. I’ve had this problem win and lose me games, but it’s just too inconsistent. Hopefully a more definable way of “winning” and “ losing” a turn is fixed.

Best Card type game i've played!

I've tried a few Card-Battle type apps over time, and CUE is by far one of the most entertaining AND legitimately informative game on CardsUniverseEverything store. There's a staggering amount of cards, all with factual interesting information about the card on the back, the artwork is really fantastic and nice to look at.
The variety of cards is also very impressive, there is a vast number of cards and the majority have unique effects, so no two cards are quite the same which leads to an almost limitless variety of decks that can be built.

My only critique, if any, would be to add a mode where you can have larger decks perhaps?
Also, i'd like to see the UI for building decks refined somehow, with the absolutely staggering amount of cards, it can be difficult to create a deck while remembering which cards you have, or which ones fit under 'X' category etc. Maybe some way to tell if a card can be effected by another, or like if they are in the same "family" of cards, since there is so many categories.

Overall fantastic game, no NEED to spend money to progress, you can certainly succeed without it, but should you choose to do so, i believe the market is fairly priced and you receive an adequate reward for doing so.
9.9/10

the ' .1 ' is only because the deck creation can be a bit overwhelming when you have a good number of cards, and only grows as you gain more cards.

So Addicting for real lol

This game reminds me of Pokémon and Magic the Gathering but in its own twist and a whole lot of fun. Basically it has cards from everywhere from space, math, history, bugs, animals, ocean creatures and much more. You can combine cards to make a Fusion for example Combining Sharks and Tornados and you get Sharknado! Lol it’s a ton of fun and I’m actually addicted to it. You can earn any of the cards without purchasing anything but I did bc I appreciated the game and wanted to give back. There are 5 rounds and 3 turns each and there’s a great balance to the game which makes it a whole lot of fun and makes you think out of the box. I would buy this as a real card game bc it’s amazing. I hope you give it a try it gets better as you open more booster packs with in game gold. Buy the Marvelous pack that’s 4500 gold coins bc that’s the best free bargain and the fastest way to get your cards in my opinion. Give it a shot it’s awesome and maybe I will meet you on the ranks section.

By far my favorite TCG app

You don’t even have to focus on weekly leagues to have a good time. I enjoy collecting enough coins to buy more card packs and expand my ever growing collection. The crafting and fusions are enough on their own to keep you busy even if you get burned out on deck building for a while. It’s always worth popping in to spin the wheel throughout the day and try to happen upon a card you needed to make another card. Or play casual games to clear out daily and weekly challenges if you need a boost on coins and gems. Or just trade this for that. It’s not heavy on pay to play. There’s plenty you can do without dropping money on avatars and deck sleeves. You can open CardsUniverseEverything for 2 minutes or 2 hours, it’s low dedication and you aren’t missing out on something major if you leave it alone for while. Alternatively, if you need to waste some time or have a nice distraction, this game can keep you entertained for quite awhile.

Amazing game not pay to win

One thing to start it off is this game is not pay to win I have never spent any money on the game and I am actually able to play this game competitively This game is amazing I have a lot of fun with this game it needs to grow even bigger. The only few problems I have with it is that my phone while not being new is not very old it is and iPhone 10, but it gets hot playing this game fast which is not that bad of a problem. I don’t know how many countries y’all have it released to but it needs to be made available everywhere so everyone can experience this game. It is one of the only mobile games I can play without getting jammed packed with adds. The only add I have EVER got I think was when I wanted to spin the wheel again without waiting. This games is so much fun and the makers obviously care a lot of about it with how much they add and change the game to keep it new and not boring. They update the game every like 3 ish weeks as well.

Review of CUE

Cards, the Universe, and Everything is an online Trading/Playing card game that introduces a fun and even educational twist on the mobile genre. The depth at which research goes into making this game as well as its cards allows for people to play, collect, or trade however they want without needing to worry about not leveling up or gaining currency. Speaking of currency, while I’ve been playing the game for over a few months, I have not had to spend one dollar on gaining the cards that I’ve found throughout my journey.

I’d also like to point out the ease at which new players can pick up the way games work with CUE’s excellent tutorials and fun graphics that allow the game to be more immersive and simplified for everyone to play. Even if someone wanted to play competitively, that option is provided and well organized.

I give this game a rating of 5 stars because it is a well designed game that can be fun for all sorts of people that constantly updates with new cards and new challenges. Thank you for making such a wonderful game!

CUE is a lot of fun!

I’ve played Pokémon and MtG and really enjoy this deck-building (and battling) game. My (adult) son recommended the game to me. I downloaded it, yesterday, and played not imagining it would be a keeper. The mechanics of the game are clever. That the cards have info on the back appeals to the former educator in me (as well as a fan of all-things-trivia). I enjoy that there is a trading element. I adore that you have to think when setting up your decks. Collecting cards is amazingly fun. The coins you can “earn” each day are generous (especially when compared to other apps and their micro transactions). I would like it if there was a place that I could find/purchase some new Card Backs and if the 400 gem theme packs were more feminine. (They seem to changeover once per week, so I’m hoping for something “prettier” in four days time. Fans of crocodiles/alligators and the Aztecs are in luck this week!) I was happy to purchase some sets in order to give some funds to the developers. I appreciate the thought they’ve clearly put into the game. I look forward to watching the game progress!

Truly Phenomenal!

I don’t think I’ve ever left a review before… but wow this game is worth it. Even if you don’t like collectible card games, at least give it a try!

Yes, it’s free to play, but the shop is not predatory at all. You can earn plenty of premium currency just playing the game. And you can trade for whatever you want! So you can hike a dream deck quite quickly. Like after 3 days I had enough rarer cards to trade for cards I actually wanted in my deck.

It’s awesome how the history/biography on each card matches with how it’s played in the actual game. Like a secret society card (which actually existed) killed their ruler, and so when played the card debuffs any super rare/powerful cards! Stuff like that.

It’s also a completely unique card game when it comes to gameplay. I’ve played Pokémon, duel masters, YuGiOh, MTG, and many more card games, but you don’t need any of that knowledge to do well here. It’s more of a tug of war type of gameplay that enables players to build whatever kind of decks they want. And with so much synergy between cards, you can truly pick whatever type of deck sounds cool and it can be made viable. Whatever you can think of is probably a card set: sharks, junk food, feudal Japan, solar system, dinosaurs, the internet, Wild West.

Do yourself a favor and try it :)

My honest Opinion

The game is honestly fun and quirky. Its great fun from a gameplay standpoint and i love the different cards and their abilities. Like how ancient Rome cards get abilities to help you come back from losing because of ancient Romes military prowess. There is fun combos as well as different cards with abilities that match really well. The strategy is really fun if you take the time to learn it. The game’s silly aspect on the other hand keeps the balance between strategy hardcore and casual play style even. There are a few micro transactions, but its a free game so i would expect no less. Its defiantly not a game that you need to pay win, you only pay for extra card packs and limited edition cards. There is a slight educational aspect, as cards come with descriptions and history on the back, but this is in no way an educational game (it is not made specifically to teach). Over all a great game. 10/10

My favorite game, but the update ruined my favorite part of the game

So I’m pretty sure I’ve been playing CUE for over a year now, maybe two, and it has been my favorite game for a while now. I’m kind of obsessive about the deck building aspect of the game, trying to find the best combos that I have available, and making the most of them work together that I can. Well sadly in this new update, when building a deck, there’s a bug where if you accidentally click the cancel button, the deck gets deleted and usually the game freezes as well. I appreciate all the work that you guys do, and why you guys changed things in the update to make the cards smaller so you can see them all on the screen at once, but please fix this bug ASAP! I have been trying to build a new deck for hours and every time I run into this bug.
