I really love the scripture and the pauses for silence, reflection and prayer.
What I don’t like is that every user receives the same thing as each other every day, and the sermonettes thrown in. Having tens of thousands of people listening to the same sermons takes away from the user having a personalized opportunity in engage with God’s word and the Spirit and could be abused by the developer to manipulate hearts - for example on election days. The mini-sermons have been emphasizing certain aspects of the passage of scripture while ignoring others. I’ve found myself praying for the other users to not be bent by the sermons away from the heart of the scripture.
If this were a tool where one could listen and reflect on scripture with the pauses for silence and prayer, but without the sermons and agenda, then it would be much better. Even better would be if it gives the user an opportunity to choose an area or topic with scripture that relates to that topic for a season for personal healing and growth. This is better produced than other apps, but I pray the developer uses it only for the spiritual benefit of the Body and not as a tool to push organizational agendas while distracting from full engagement with God’s Word as it is written.
I love Lectio365! It’s short, creative and deep. For a week or longer the verses follow a theme illustrated by Scripture. Listening to and thinking about the content helps me start my day headed in the right direction. I’m always eager to share in the parts of P. R. A. Y.
There are two things I would appreciate. First, when I don’t close Lectio365 with the Amen, then to restart it I have to turn off my phone. Next, every once in a while we listeners are asked to think of a word or phrase in the passage that the Spirit seems to be speaking to us about. I’d like to be led in that quest more often.
I’ve recommended Lectio 365 to several friends who now enjoy it themselves.
I definitely love the idea of Lectio365 but there are just some things that rub me the wrong way. More often than not the prayers often don't feel like prayers and there's a lot of personal speaking of the writer and when there are prayers much of it feels like "they will be heard for their many words". There's a lot of words for saying little to nothing. Also, the pauses and the "pause and pray" often feel out of place and happens after just a psalm and I never know the intent in what I'm supposed to say in the short time I even get. I would have liked to see a bit more liturgy, guided prayer, and direction than the flowery filler and random moments to pause and pray that seems to be many of the prayer sessions.
I seriously want to give a very big thank you to the creators of Lectio365. I’m a fifteen year old guy and for a while now I’ve been praying about something on my heart quite a bit. It’s that I felt that I was on the cusp of a closer more meaningful relationship with God and I really wanted that so badly. I just wanted to feel that closeness and peace that I’ve heard about others having. And at times I felt discouraged because it just seemed as if I couldn’t quite bridge the gap. But then tonight, I listened to the nighttime prayer on Lectio365 with my parents as they listen to it regularly. As I was following along with it, I just felt this overwhelming peace from God and I knew he was there with me and I could feel his love so clearly. And the voices and the music and just being with God was so amazing. I really think it helped me finally bridge the gap and it is awesome. I now have downloaded Lectio365 and will for sure be a regular user. Thanks so much.
For years I have struggled with finding a practical and effective format for spending quiet, meditative, reflective, prayerful, scriptural time with God. The typical “devotionals” have never really worked well for me. Just simply reading the Bible and being quiet have been the best, but are often haphazard. I experienced a meditative Lectio Divina reading at a retreat and was blown away, and have been looking for an app that could lead me in a similar fashion. Your app has been a fantastic solution to that search - thanks for creating it, and for your faithfulness in setting out timely and gentle reflections of who God is, through scripture.
Thank you so much for Lectio365! You’ve done everything right here:
(1) The design and UI are fluid, gorgeous and sophisticated. And Lectio365 is small in size and uses no battery.
(2) You can read or listen. I’m hearing impaired, so I’m glad I can just read the content.
(3) It’s monetized the right way. There are no ads or IAP. You can choose to donate, but I appreciate that it’s free for those like me on limited incomes. I’ll gladly support when I can.
(4) The content is balanced in perspective. The church is worldwide, not just conservative Americans. I appreciate that it covers different perspectives without compromising the essential truth of the gospel. If a reader doesn’t agree with something, just skip that section. There’s plenty of content here to get something out of it for everyone.
(5) it’s just the right amount of depth and contemplation. It’s not hard to find time to do each days’ readings.
I highly recommend Lectio365!
I discovered this app several months ago, and have been greatly blessed by the meditations on Scripture offered each day. The team that puts together this podcast does a truly commendable job. The variety of voices, the readers’ sensitivity, the very effective order of prayers and Bible passages, the repeated use of some of the prayers each episode, the content of the meditative commentary, all contribute to lead one to worship and contemplation. I appreciate the change in background music that I noticed in todays podcast. Thank you for the gift of your service and creativity in making this podcast possible.
To Pete and the Lectio 365 team: thank you. As a pastor, I have long been looking for a daily devotional resource to recommend to my people that goes beyond a short verse of scripture and a shallow reflection. Lectio365 provides a devotional format that is deeply rooted in Scripture and church tradition, and its aim is far more than simply offering you an uplifting spiritual thought as you head into your busy day. Rather, it aims to draw you into a meaningful encounter with God that has the potential to shape and form you in profound ways. Not only have I been deeply blessed by Lectio365 myself, but my church has been as well. Thank you, and may God continue to bless this holy work.
I often pray on my feet as I cook, clean, and do chores. Of all the prayer and meditation apps I have used, this one has the best narrator — pathos and gravity without an ounce of cloying or drama.
This is a substantive Christian meditation for people in the reality of Covid, marriage trouble, cancer, etc. who are seeking and waiting for God’s love to break through. The Scripture reflections are Biblical, wise, and hope-filled. The questions for meditation are profound and simple.
Bravo to this team for its quality work.
The tow suggestions for improvement is 1) to sync up the Scripture reading with the daily office, to pray with English speaking believers throughout the world. 2) Read the entire Psalm, not just a line or two.
Honestly, I can’t say enough for lectio 365. It is I must have for anyone and everyone, Christian or not. I pray that many many people stumble across this wonderful app and it leads them to the road of Christ. In the morning it starts my day with joy and peace, in the middle of the doy it reminds me to not get to caught up in the world and keep walking by the Devine Lord, and at night. I had had trouble getting to sleep, and was waking up in the middle of the night, but with lectio 365, I sleep soundly through the night and wake well refreshed with Jesus in my heart. Thank you so much for this wonderful helper to bring us closer to our Heavenly Father.
Quality content, quality recording, quality narration, quality app! The content is not just the average daily devotional stuff, it is insightful, uplifting, and full of the presence of God. I am so grateful. Thank you.
To the team who built, wrote and recorded:
Thank you so much. This is a perfect blend of using modern technology to bring the depth of God. Not all audio apps have quality narrators, and for this I am especially grateful. Thank you. Really— I have thanked God many times for this work of yours, and I cannot thank you enough to match my gratitude. (last week I showed my gratitude in $$ this week it’s words) ☆ Thank You ☆
I have been using Lectio 365 for a couple years and I love it. If I travel or get distracted I love that I can simply come back and jump back in. I love that I can listen to past days that I may have missed. I love the diversity of voices that record the messages.
Just a couple’s suggestions. 1) would love some replay controls, 5 sec’s, 10 sec’s, etc. because I often attempt to replay a verse or a portion. The slider bar is hard to control, especially for replaying just a few seconds.
2) I share Lectio365 frequently and there is no message that states the receiver must have Lectio365 to hear it. Since the messages are downloadable, is it possible to share the file so a user doesn’t need Lectio365 ? Secondly, if these are limitations, perhaps a prompt that provides a text-only version could be offered for sharing?? I have resorted to copying screenshots to my photos and then sharing the text images to friends that way.
Thanks for considering these requests and May God bless your ministry.
I’ve been a Christian all my life, baptized at 13. Attended church all my life too. But having that real live relationship wasn’t what I knew I wanted. Now I’m in my 70s and going through trials of life with ill spouse and aging mother and mother in law, this app has not only saved my sanity but given me so much strength to persevere. Above all, I have found such a strong real living relationship with our father, son, and Holy Spirit. I love all of you there and I thank you. God is working through you. It warms my heart and is so encouraging to realize there are Christians like you all over the world! Thank you and may God continue to bless you in the time to come!
I’ve been using Lectio365 morning and evening for about three weeks now and wow! The content is top notch, Lectio365 is pretty seamless, and I have been so very blessed overall! Easing into the day with Scripture and leaving the day with Scripture as well — the couple days that I did not get to tune in, I definitely felt a difference! Thank you for creating a way to help us center our lives on Christ and meditate on His Word day and night! My one question is, are some of the days repeated? I’ve noticed patterns or that some verses are repeated and I’m not sure if that’s on purpose or if it’s because days are repeated from past archives? Either way, I am being blessed and will continue to use! God bless your team!
Been loving Lectio365 for morning & evening devotions! It’s brought a fresh renewal in God’s word and beautiful connection with the Father, without a feeling of pressure if I miss a session. Sometimes I listen, sometimes I read. It’s really peaceful and comforting. 💛
It’s been hard for me to engage scripture the last several years, and this has felt like a wind of refreshing ripples across waters of my heart that have felt stagnant.
Thank you to the team behind it for the prayer, creativity, and labor that goes into making it. I know it’s intentional work, and want you to know the Spirit of God is moving powerfully as I listen each day sitting in my home office - all the way in Oklahoma City, USA. Thank you and bless you.
I recently read the book, The Common Rule by Justin Whitmel Earley and have been striving to practice kneeling prayer in the am and pm. I happened across Lectio365 while looking for prayer resources and began using it over a month ago. What a blessing it has been to me! This past month has brought many joys and trials including my daughter’s wedding, another daughter’s miscarriage, my husband’s absence due to work and my mother’s death. It’s been a difficult start to my year, however, Lectio365 has made listening and connecting to God such a vital and beautiful part of my day that I look forward to. Hearing, praying and reflecting on His Word twice a day has brought me peace and joy in the storm of the past month. Thank you for this blessed resource.
I have been listening diligently day and night for I believe almost 3 years. I was listening to the Pause app when they recommended Lectio 365 that’s how I began my journey here. It is the most calming, soothing, deepest way into your soul, pulling out the light every night as you go to sleep.
I love the morning journey, I love the weekly lessons. I walked through all of them and although I’m not good at articulating or recalling what they were but are received. I’ve learned so much about those who went before us, searching for the Lord, finding him in the most amazing places and the least unlikely you would think, but is where Father God needed them. I love your soothing voices. I love everything about Lectio365 and pray more people discover it like I did. Bless you. Listening from North Carolina 🙏❤️
As a person who has a hard time getting my mind to stop racing and rest in Christ, Lectio365 is a huge blessing. As opposed to other apps and podcasts, which leave me with more stuff bouncing around in my head, Lectio 365 has really helped me to slow down and meditate. I appreciate that the same theme can carry on and be looked at from many perspectives over the course of many weeks, developing real depth and complexity in the topics, as opposed to superficial spiritual “snacking.” The prompts to prayer help me think thoughts (and pray prayers!) that I wouldn’t come up with otherwise. I have recommended it to all of my believing friends as a way to turn of the noise, take your worries before Christ, and bow in His presence.
My only complaint is that sometimes the audio doesn’t work, but they’re always working on fixing bugs.
I’m celebrating as this amazing devo app has been updated to version 2.0 and finally honors the iOS system-wide font size setting. It is now possible to read the terrific content on an iPhone (with normal reading glasses if you need them)! Since its inception, Lectio 365 has been a staple in my devotional life, but until now, I’ve only listened to the beautiful audio or used Lectio365 on iPad in order to get it large enough to read. Now I can read along and not just listen.
Thank you for updating Lectio365 to solve this pain point.
Now, if only it would show up in the Mac App Store like Lectio for Families does. (It is quite frustrating that some apps refuse to appear there. And retrieving the IPA file from the phone, then double-clicking to install onto an Apple Silicon Mac doesn’t work for Lectio 365 either.)
I’m not one to leave reviews- but I whole heartedly want to support Lectio365. A friend shared it with me a month ago and it’s become part of my morning routine daily. It’s a great way to center on God for the day or even before I read more scripture. I love the layout and structure of the daily meditations. I love to listen to them in the morning- in my own quiet time. The music is such a great help to focus, too. Amazing quality of bringing out impactful points from the passages. I’m thoroughly impressed and want to share it with everyone!

You can join in with this ancient rhythm and pray like Jesus did, with three short prayer times to slow down, find calm, meditate on scripture, and experience God’s presence.
24-7 Prayer has helped individuals all over the world to encounter God in prayer rooms; now we want to help people develop a daily relationship with Jesus.
24-7 Prayer started in 1999, when one simple student-led prayer vigil went viral, and groups all over the world joined in to pray non-stop.
Lectio 365 Morning Prayers are inspired by the ancient practice of ‘Lectio Divina’ (meaning ‘Divine Reading’), a way of meditating on the Bible that’s been used by Christians for centuries.
With Lectio 365, you become part of reviving this ancient rhythm of prayer in the modern church.
