O-P-E-N is a soothing balm

I discovered O-P-E-N on January 1, 2023, and it is the first meditation app that I have not only been using every day, but have looked forward to using every single day. The guided meditations are short yet impactful, the voices are soothing, the variety is appealing, and the self-guided options are an added bonus. I love the breathing practices, the opportunities to practice live, and the visual appeal of Open design. At one point, I had an issue accessing Open , so I contacted customer service, and they were responsive (in a timely manner), kind, and helpful. I also greatly appreciate that by sharing Open with others who sign up for a free month, I receive a free month in return! I could not be happier with or more grateful for Open! Thank you to creators and everyone behind the scenes who make it possible for me to have this experience every day. This is the most consistent I’ve ever been with meditation, and I can feel and see the difference that it makes in calming my nervous system, easing my anxiety, and supporting me through depressive moments. Life-changing

I cannot say enough good things about Open. I discovered it through a recommendation from the breathwork teacher Jennifer Patterson and have been using it ever since. It makes it so easy to try new breathwork and meditation techniques and I love that I can add live classes to my calendar. All of the teachers are so compassionate and gracious and take time to make me feel seen in live classes. It’s beautifully designed in a way that appeals to my aesthetic sensibilities and it has given me a true sense of community. I have been using it for a long time but recently got way more consistent via the monthly challenges, and the added mindfulness has greatly improved my quality of life—I’ve been less anxious, more present and content, and sleeping better. I especially love Manoj’s live meditations and Ally’s live breathwork classes and have been using the "body scan for rest" every night before bed. I tend to use other apps for exercise because I have a lot that I like, but have also been really impressed with the Move classes that I’ve tried.

Op e n ... a blessing for sure!

Go ahead try it! You will be glad you did.
Like many of you, I often struggle with a committed practice often followed by shaming myself for not doing “enough”. Open will change that! Daily classes, including 3 categories, MOVE, BREATHE, & MEDITATE, are taught by kind, knowledgeable, & conscious teachers. Open also gives you some classes that are not live & can be done at anytime. The ease of Open is awesome, the cost so affordable ($20 per month), and the teachers are incredible. The first class is free and you can invite one guest to any of the classes you sign up for!
Signing up for a class is so simple, just one click, followed by clicking “join class” at scheduled time. I have never found such an easy way to stay on top of my practices. Also it has to be mentioned that the studio is beautiful, calming, & warm. If you are looking for a community that is non-judgmental, supportive, & leaves you feeling LOVE for yourself and LOVED by a cool community than this is Open for you! So grateful I found you Op e n!

Breath work, meditation, and movement in a easy, streamlined, well designed platform

this app really though of everything when making Open. It is easy to use based on your goals for the day. If that’s breathing, you have a breath work channel straight to go to with many avenues. If that’s, meditation or movement, same thing there. It is built in a way that is fresh and modern without losing the backbone of meditative concepts. The instructors are all top notch, and there is something for everyone! I’ve found that in other apps, there’s often too many options, which can lead you to analysis paralysis of what you need that day. In this app, there’s enough for your specific needs but not too much where you don’t end up doing anything at all due to being overwhelmed by options. A top notch place to go when you need to connect with yourself!

A Week In and Loving Op e n!

So far I am in love with my Op e n app. I enjoy that it offers three practices: BREATHE/MEDITATE/MOVE. I have yet to do any meditations however, I’m really digging the yoga and breath work classes.

Feedback I have so far is the flow of Open can be a little confusing. I’m unsure why exactly however once I’ve spent a bit more time in there, I will come back with more detailed feedback that might hopefully help.

I will recommend Open to everyone based on the yoga classes alone - there are classes for you no matter if you’re a beginner or more experienced yogi. I love the authenticity of the instructors while still maintaining structure and flow to the classes. It’s also refreshing that they will call you out by name during the Live classes and remember regulars. More than anything now, we all need community and connectedness.

Curation, community, and connection to self—truly a one of a kind self-care app!

Not only is Open aesthetically pleasing, but the classes are expertly curated and the teachers are seriously top quality—the classes feel natural, like the teacher in the room with you, just for you. On top of that, there’s something for everyone—from beginner to pro/advanced—and from meditation, to breathwork, to movement; their wide selection of topics/focuses truly allows for support of whatever your practice is calling you towards on any given day. Live classes are a great addition to Open ’s framework as well—there’s surprising sense of community with this app that you don’t necessarily see with other apps. I “this app” everyday, so much that it’s become a part of my daily ritual!

Best breathwork ever!!!

I am thrilled I found Open. It's day 7, and I have completed more than 25 sessions already! I am a huge fan of all types of breathwork, and I practice whenever I can since 2018. However, I would generally go to a group or individual session, and since I moved to a small city to attend grad school, I could not find any place or practitioners. My program is very intense, and I was VERY stressed when I found Open! But it's been a week that, even amid the most intense days, I feel calm, centered, and happy. It's fantastic going through very intense sessions in the comfort of my home. A big shout-out to Crussen! Man, all your breathwork exercises are amazing, I am completely obsessed with them. Thank you so much !

Open is a GIFT

this app is a gift, a mindfulness studio in app form. I regularly use a different app for fitness and this compliments it so well. Breathwork is something that I didn’t know that I needed, and the way Open infuses audio into these classes is next level. I also really enjoy the meditation and yoga classes. There’s a nice mix of video and audio only sessions. The “community” aspect, with live chat really sets them apart with live classes. I can’t emphasize enough how great it is to see a diverse group of faces and body types with many women of color. This comes through in the playlisting as well. I can’t wait to see how this community grows and thrives as they carve out a niche in the fitness and wellness space.

eye-opening

This is the first time I’ve reviewed an app. I discovered this because a homeopathic practitioner posted about it. It’s been around a week of using Open and I love it — it’s the most well-rounded virtual wellness service I’ve used. I use many virtual class platforms, I’m very particular about the type of instructors I take from and the overall experience (aesthetic design, instructor personality, length of classes etc) and this is elite to anything else I’ve found. I love that the meditations are like mini therapy sessions. So much thought has gone into every detail of each part of Open experience, and I truly cannot say enough good things about it.

A new & enriching approach to *mindfulness*

I’ve been using this app for more than a year now and have become a daily user of Open and member of their community. I have been dabbling in meditation and mindfulness for over a decade, but the way they’ve presented breathwork here is a powerful experience: fun, deep, emotional, immersive. I’ve loved the live in-person and virtual classes—they give me something to look forward to and provide an enriching break during work hours. Breathwork has really changed my life bringing me more energy and helping me regulate the stress of life. But, really, this community helped me cope with the realities of loneliness during this pandemic. Thank you this app

Need iPad version!

This is one of my favorite apps. So beautifully made. The UI, design, curation all feels very purposeful. The quality of instructors are outstanding. I’ve tried many mindfulness/meditation apps, and this one far exceeds the rest.

The ONLY reason I give it less than 5 stars is because I REALLY wish there was an iPad version of the experience. In the spirit of mindfulness, when I’m home, I don’t want my phone with me. I keep an iPad as my go-to home device, detached from work and social media. I’m sure I’m not the only one that would rather not meditate in front of my phone.

Plus, the video production of O P EN is so great, I’d MUCH rather experience it on my iPad where I prop it up and see much better. Please consider it, team!

Walk the walk when it comes to inclusiveness

After seeing their social media and website, I was amazed at just how visually appealing and high-quality the content was. Unfortunately, I’m in college right now and just got laid off so I was worried about being able to afford Open .

I was so delighted when I emailed them and explained the situation. Renee, one of their team members, got back to me with a six-month free trial which I REALLY appreciate.

Yoga/wellness always gets a bad rep for being limited to rich, white people so I am happy that there’s an app that is finally all about inclusiveness, not just as a gimmick, but as something they actually implement!

A beautiful experience every day!

I have had this app since October of 2020 and I have been doing a daily practice every day for the last 120 days. The on demand library is incredible and has something for every mood and energy level. The teachers are supportive and use nurturing language in their classes, which is a welcome relief from the current “workout” culture. this app has been such a gift for me and I love that it has become a daily habit for me to breathe, move, meditate (or all three!). The monthly cost is nothing compared to studios around me and there is ample opportunity to get a return on my investment :)

Team of All-Stars

I’ve been on this app since early 2021 and I can honestly say it has been the best platform I’ve seen for mind, energy and soul boosting. Wonderful instructors from pilates to yoga, breathwork and enlightening workshops. It’s such a great community and the instructors give you shout outs and recognition which motivates me to push harder. My kids and husband tease me when I get excited that they say my name!It is a non-judgemental/ no pressure community where you can put your camera on or off. Playlists are so good, music on..and off…the beaten path. Can’t say enough how grateful I am to have discovered this community.

Transformational

There is so much goodness here. I find the breathwork so powerful, and it deepens my meditations in such a beautiful way. I love the teachers, and the breath+sound classes fly by. With headphones, it really feels like you’re in a sound bath. I look forward to my meditation practice in a way I’ve never felt before.

One note to users: I don’t think Open includes any classes you do on a computer in your streak. I know I’ve kept up a consistent practice, but if you’re someone who values that streak, just be aware that you’ll need to complete classes in Open to maintain it!

Best meditation and well-being app

I first found this lovely people through an in-person breathing class. Which was life changing. When I found they were creating an app I was so excited - and it has exceeded my expectations. This is the only meditation app I use now. They have incredible sound production, use tasteful music in a balanced way, and don’t overwhelm with choice. I often choose the daily option in the morning, and pick another for the afternoon or evening. Great app all around. Try the breathing if you’ve never done that! It’s profound.

Accessible Growth

Open has been amazing in that it has removed a lot of the kinds resistance for showing up on the mat for meditation and breathe-work. It is amazingly user friendly and allows for quick access to amazing series and practices, especially in being present with myself and my body. Would recommend this over and over for anyone who needs the discipline and self accountability to show up for themselves but struggles to make the time for themselves. Love the reminders and notifications.

Wonderful App for Stretching!

this app is beautiful and I love the “Restore” courses, which are stretch-focused. I work out a lot and wanted to incorporate more stretching in to my daily routine, so I started doing the Restore videos in the morning before work, and now I look forward to them every morning.

I tried SO many stretching apps, and these are the most effective and creative stretches I have found. The instructors are all incredibly calming and the quality is really high. Definitely worth giving it a shot- it has really helped with my mental health!

I adore this app and the community that supports this mission/vision/creation!! Having world class classes at my fingertips feels like the gift that keeps on giving. The meditations are always supportive and soothing. I love the inquiry and self-awareness that is seamlessly woven into each class. The yoga and movement classes are powerful, nurturing, and exactly what I always need. I LOVE the design, it’s SO sexy and pleasurable to look at (which is super important for me). Great but pricy

Honestly, I’ve been using Open for a few months now and I love it. I definitely don’t use all of its features to the full extend. I listen to the daily meditation each night before bed. I’m canceling it after this period because honestly $20 is more than I feel I can justify for it. Spending this much time paying that cost just goes to show how great the experience has been though, the quality of Open is wonderful. Its a treasure, but a luxury. I’d like to see more economical packages in the future, just my suggestion. I’d pay less for just the portion I use.

I tell everyone about Open

Y’all have made my 2024 a whole new year for me. The first several times doing sound therapy is like enveloping your body in sound waves that find your sadness, your doubt, your lack of (control/confidence/etc) and makes you feel ok to feel those feelings. Once you rise above resistance you begin to understand and heal from it. I’m a daily user of Open and anyone I see in need, I always send them the free 30 days and they always benefit. I used to think meditation and all this stuff was hooey. Once I really let myself experience it, it completely changed my belief system and I’m so much happier than I was last year. Please just try it for 30 days- it’s free. If you’re feeling out of options and don’t know where to turn, turn here.

The Best

This is the best mindfulness app I’ve ever used. I’ve tried calm, headspace, and ten percent. They just do not compare. The subscription is quite expensive, but after completing the trial I think it’s for good reason: the workouts burn, the meditations and breathwork are extremely effective, and Open design is gorgeous too. You can tell they really invested in the best instructors and UIX designers, and put a lot of thought into Open. I’m grateful to have discovered it. I don’t want my free trial to end! On another note, their customer service team are very helpful but could be a lot more efficient. It’s not deep enough to impact the score though. Off to do a morning meditation now! Enjoy!

Great App

I have found consistency with Open for the first time ever! I truly appreciate it. The four options: sound/breath/movement/meditation make it easy for me to show up for myself regardless of the capacity i have.

i would only ask that more flexibility and stretch videos come! ive already cycled through them all and nightly stretches are so important- and such a different movement than yoga. the other thibg i would change is i would set a feature in Open that shows that you’ve already watched a video- i’ve re-done the same flows a few times because of this.

Hoping to get developers attention

App looks interesting but it’s 150$ after trail. And there’s no way to select the monthly option so I’m too afraid to even select the free trial. No matter what happens I’ll NEVER GET THAT BACK FROM APPLE
There is absolutely no way to reach out to developer from app for any questions on this and had to decide against it but for those who have no money restrictions looks interesting.
At least they use words like regulation lol 😂. No really the whole first page is not even readable because the free trial button completely occludes all that is written underneath. And is this an apple app only ?? cuz I’m not into apple only stuff. I would love to get some questions answered. Then I will change my review accordingly but
150 is a bit much for having no access to developer or someone to answer the questions. Ty
