I was given a 6-day assignment that was 70 miles from my home (140 round trip). After one day of work, the employer decides they don’t need me for the remaining 5 days. During my shift, my co-worker asks if I’m coming back a second day, or if I will just vanish like the other guy. It appears the company I went to work for is just promising people high pay and long assignments in order to attract talent in a rural area, but then let’s them go after a day. this app basically told me, “Oh, well, the employer can do that.” Basically, a contract means nothing because you’re misclassified as an independent contractor. Also, this app claims to have notified me of the employer’s decision to cancel but I can prove that no notice was ever given. If I had not logged into my app before departing, I would have driven 140 miles round trip for nothing. In the end, I was not paid for the full 6 days as expected (only 1), and, as bonus, the employer gets no penalty for canceling 5 shifts, but I… do. this app has not been supportive of the situation at all, but does manage to take their financial cut.

First ,I would like to say that WorkWhile needs to improve on developing a strategy by not allowing jobs to be blocked or cancelled for no reasonable cause by the employer and given to a prefer employee meaning favoritism . It lacks management and the proper training , women should be treated equal and given the same opportunity, need more women supervisors in the warehouses , I give it a one star because I was scheduled for two shifts and not notified it was canceled till last minute with no probable cause all done by management .I am very dissatisfied and disappointed I was hoping it would be a better outcome I feel cheated out work hostile environment it’s all about favoritism -Santa Fe Springs -

I’ve used the this app consistently for over a year. Here are a few of my observations:
Cons: •Very sparse selection of well paying gigs. Depending on your location you may see nothing in your area and if you do they may not be cost effective. •Driving gigs are posted and users are not made aware that they may need commercial insurance. Commercial insurance is often expensive and this app does not offer cheap options for their users that regularly do driving gigs. •0 mileage reimbursement for driving gigs. Some jobs will require you to drive upwards of 200+ miles. The wear and tear on your vehicle coupled with what you will make per gig does not make driving gigs worth it in my opinion. •Laughable and inept customer service. Those that “help” via messages can be short and often in a rush to close out tickets without solving a users problem. Even when you ask a legitimate question and highlight an inaccuracy in TOC or FAQs they shut you down.
Pros •The ability to earn quick cash and the option to cash out instead of waiting for a traditional check •The ability to earn sick time, albeit it takes a while to earn.

Hello,
I have worked a couple shifts with you guys and had accrued two strikes on my account. Due to this I had one more strike and was trying my best to make it to shifts on time! I had a scheduled shift in July and worked my day around the shift accordingly, but when I had woken up that morning I saw that WorkWhile had automatically rescheduled my shift for a few hours earlier that day. This resulted in me missing that shift and getting a ban on my account.
I tried the help tab for the next few days and saw that no one was on the online chat, so I emailed. I never got a response. Recently I decided to check if anyone was online in the help section, and that is when I was connected with a help agent named Rose. I explained my situation and instead of helping she typed out a generic “no tolerance for no shows policy” and promptly ended our chat. I reconnected with her using another chat trying to let her know that it wasn’t my fault, to which she replied that she never saw any messages from me so I can’t reinstate my account. Then she promptly ended the chat again without waiting for my response. I tried again, explaining in painstaking detail what was going on and she kept giving the same generic response then repeatedly ending the chat.
This is unacceptable behavior from a HELP CHAT, and when asked to speak to a supervisor she ended the chat again.
Please reinstate my account. Thanks

In a nutshell I had two strikes already. And my third one I had to take my newborn at the time to the Dr to make sure he and his brother didn't have Covid. I forgot to get the note from the Dr but I told them that I could still get proof to them that I was at the Dr for my kids to make sure they weren't sick. They told that basically it didn't matter and have a nice day. My thing is do they really think the Dr would lie for me if I wasn't there? Risk his license and practice for a courier service? It's like they had no compassion or sympathy for me or my family. Here's the kicker tho. My account is suspended but I can still refer people to this app😒. I think they should have a policy that allows the driver to remove strikes as well rather than just booting them off and saying good riddance. I'm very disappointed hurt and disgusted at how they handled me taking my kids to the Dr and simply just forgetting the note.

I worked for this app for many months almost a year working 5-6 days a week through WorkWhile . The anytime you miss work for a doctors note it take them 5 days to un ban your account. So no work even while submitting the doctors note on the day you missed work. They have little to no job postings compared to its competitors and lastly after working on WorkWhile for so many shift remember 5-6 days a week for almost a year I was unable to come in to work so I canceled my shift 2 hours before my shift with a explanation that my sons sitter has cancelled and I could not find a replacement before my shift so I would have to stay with him. They told me "they do not accept that" and did a full ban from WorkWhile . I am very happy working for Traba now they employ support is much better and they have much more job opportunities. Goodbye this app! Whoot whoot.

Don't rely on WorkWhile fully for supplemental income especially if you are looking to gain consistent income. They have a limited number of companies under their service. They do not hold companies liable for their actions and will allow jobs to mistreat you because you're with this app, as well as completely cancel shifts while you are on the way to the job site. This is harsh if you are commuting a long distance. If you plan on scheduling shifts with AxleHire through WorkWhile, be aware that they have rude management and will not warn you before clocking you out and sending you home for any reason. this app does not have a immediate response customer service team so you won't have any resources besides heading home. They may also cancel all other shifts that you have scheduled with them. Highly recommend not relying on AxleHire or this app.

I was banned from this app for two not at fault misses.
Explanation
I was working with them two years ago or 1 1/2 ago and I accepted some shifts from them for a company called returnmates. So the day comes and I show up to the company warehouse in south San Francisco and I was unable to gain access I tried calling the contact number they usually have on file and nothing so after being there for almost 30 mins I decided to take off I ended the assignment on this app and that was it.
So come to find out a couple days later my account is being banned because I didn’t show up to the work assignment I had and I made no type of contact. I show this app all the calls I had given them and they still didn’t unblock my account. Please this app unlock my accout I loved working with you guys and making money.

Back in 2018 I got into a little tiny fight with my sister-in-law and since she called the cops first I got hit with a “simple assault”. Key word, SIMPLE! I completed everything I needed through the court and haven’t got in trouble since. this app didn’t hire me even tho the company I was working for wanted me to work for them. I’m working with them now because I went through Temp Star Agency. So as I’m working with the company I find out that ppl with a worst backgrounds then me are working through this app smh
A mother of three children was denied because of her first ever charge and I was 32 when this happened AND I still haven’t got paid for my one day of work! this app said it’s my bank but I’ve talked to my bank and they laughed saying it’s definitely this app!
Don’t waste your time!!

Needs number you can call to sort out issues. I worked an entire gig and had to stay late to finish an order just to have them say I didn’t show up. I checked in on WorkWhile , the sign in sheet and every other mechanism and still this happens and it isn’t the first issue. One gig shorted me out of money and they openly said that they do that sometimes. To give employers that much control but no means to effectively clear up issues for the one employed to that job. I don’t even see the point of taking a photo if that isn’t even used as far as identifying who is who. I see all of these high ratings it boggles the mind because that hasn’t been my experience.
by Myavee123
I worked a shift with WorkWhile for axel hire. First off they are keeping a lot of money on the back end. Flat rate of 73 bucks and other apps are paying 30 dollars a hour for the same exact gig. But I worked over 28 minutes. So it needed to be approved. I waited 3 days contacted them. They told me still waiting for approval. 2 weeks later now I never showed up and they won’t pay me. Gas is 5 dollars a gallon. They want you to travel up to 120 miles. And then they lie and take your work off their app and say you never showed up. I’ve work a couple of apps throw axel hire… I have never had this experience. I should of known not to do it by the price point but they company is a sham.

Signed up a few weeks ago and it was not only a huge waste of time but there was much detailed personal information that was required even before being able to see what jobs were available & to make matters worse even after doing all of that and sitting through there requires 7 - 10 minute orientation I went to to search for jobs within my area (NYC) and it said “I’m sorry we have nothing available at the moment please check back later” - what an absolute waste of time energy and not to mention invasion of privacy as well - save yourself the worry & look elsewhere for something WAY better than this….

1st of all there’s hardly any jobs EVER posted. When I finally was able to schedule 2 shifts for a retail store called Soma I worked my 1st shift 6pm-10pm, my 2nd shift was scheduled for the next day 6am-10am. The supervisor of soma texted me at midnight and said she was canceling my shift for the morning which was supposed to start in 6 hours. Work whiles policy CLEARLY states “if an employer cancels a shift with less than 24 hours notice you receive full pay for the time you were scheduled to work”. I contacted support to let them know that she texted me and told me not to show up because she was canceling with only 6 hours notice, support responded “I am removing you from the shift” and immediately closed the chat. I wrote support again to let them know that as per THEIR POLICY since the employer canceled with only 6 hours notice I am owed payment for the cancellation. He then responded and said “cancellation and removal are two different things you will not be getting paid” This makes absolutely no sense. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SIGNING UP FOR WorkWhile THERE ARE PLENTY OTHER BETTER APPS THAT HAVE MORE WORK AND ACTUALLY PAY WHAT YOU ARE OWED, LIKE BLUE CREW
by Pj8911
If I could rate 0 stars I would. I did the orientation and was never paid the $15. I even tried a different card and it said “cash our failed” after saying “card added successfully” each time *RED FLAG #1*...I contacted support about this issue twice and they said there must be an issue with my card, and to contact my bank. He then asked for my bank account instead *RED FLAG #2*...In addition, jobs are only offered every once in a blue moon, and for about $50-$75 for the whole shift. Nowhere near the $2000+ gig they advertise when you are waiting for orientation *RED FLAG #3*....I have been using WorkWhile for about month, and I have been offered maybe 5-7 jobs total. Don’t waste your time.

WorkWhile is a SCAM!!! They make it seem like you can really work shifts but you really can’t and no matter how many times you try to get a shift they never say you are accepted for a shift or anything. They add you to a waiting list and never put you down for work !! It’s frustrating cause I really trusted WorkWhile, I’ve had it for two weeks and I haven’t worked one shift!!! WorkWhile needs to be taken down if the opportunities they claim they have for people are false. There are people out there who genuinely need to work and your basically getting their hopes up. DO NOT FALL FOR WorkWhile AND ITS STUPID LYING ADVERTISING!! IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE IT 0 STARS!!!
by ScrewCarvana
If you’re sick, and could infect other individuals, they don’t care unless you have a “doctors” note. If most of us are working jobs on an app. We probably don’t have insurance. So what money and where are we going for a note and wasting time and energy while being sick. Plus the very first job I accepted was a “delivery” job. I live in the Bay Area where we don’t get much rain. It started raining so hard right before the shift started that I couldn’t see to safely drive. Let alone to start driving around the Bay Area to place I didn’t know handling packages. What a joke.
by Sissy&jo
I signed up. Then then they said they couldn’t verify my ID???? What I literally took picture of license right then, then did the turn right and left for a mug shot. But you couldn’t verify my ID. It only was 1 second and boom couldn’t identify and says we can’t work with you. Ok well thanks for trying to get in touch with a person to see what the problem is. Just maybe a blurry pic and welp nope can’t work. If that’s the case I don’t think you would be a very reliable employer anyway. So good radiance. Now can’t even post cause all nicknames are taken. Even 7:$:!$.$3! Just something I randomly put in.

I was having trouble with WorkWhile clocking me in. I read that if I was unable to clockin to notify the supervisor immediately! I did! Arrived 20 mins early and at 15:01 when I realize that clocking in through WorkWhile was not going to succeed, I notified the supervisor. He reassured me several times things would be fixed. They were not. I was worked 2 days and then banned from WorkWhile . THERE IS NO SUPPORT TO CONTACT. Work while does not even have a help desk email that you can send your question into? Do not work WorkWhile you will be FREE LABOR!!!!
by McDon8720
I’ve been using WorkWhile for nearly a year now and today is my last day on this, I’m constantly having issue with payment and delays with payment, incorrectly kept hours and as the worker you’re the one under scrutiny everytime, it’s so stupid! Today had my bills to cover and I’m in a whole conversation about my pay from 2 days ago and the employer already approve my pay, support agents are never helpful and just send you generic messages from the help page, WorkWhile is just stupid, the only good experiences came from the employers, this app is absolutely an incompetent company.
by Wendyannh
WorkWhile itself seems very good overall, except it doesn’t allow editing of work experience or inputting what one actually did at each job - and they’re all industrially-oriented. There’s a preset list of options to choose from, so even if they aren’t accurate, you’re forced to choose. It did allow me to put in some employers more than once to record different types of experiences.
The problem is there were no jobs listed where I live - Pittsburgh, PA - so WorkWhile is useless to me, which I wasn’t able to find out until after I’d already gone through their mandatory orientation and filled everything else out, including job experience. It would be helpful if the company were to list the cities and regions they cover in WorkWhile description so as not to make so many people have to go through all of this just to find that out.
*Because* there are no jobs here, I can’t evaluate how well WorkWhile or company perform once assigned work.

I’ve been using WorkWhile for a bit over a year now. It has allowed me a great opportunities to pick up work. I can say within the last for months I’ve only worked with 3 different companies. One out of the three I only worked with them 1 time. The other two job sites have been dozens of times which is great. At times it can be really competitive to try and get work because WorkWhile offers very little company’s to work with in a orange/Los Angeles and riverside counties. So I deducted a star from that along with the fact that they are now paying less for the same job have been doing for over a year! Inflation is a real thing so the fact that our pay is being shortened and even been given more work in some instances I’ve found it’s now worth it. I’m taking another star off because of the fact that WorkWhile tracks your location 24/7. I’ve I’m not actively on a shift or using WorkWhile then my location should not be tracked. So I took another star off for that. I don’t like receiving notifications saying that the this app app has tracked my location 127 times in the last 2-3 days. Even when I didn’t have a shirt scheduled or was working
by PRICKODICKO
Downloaded WorkWhile and was expecting to work. They seem to be firm on their attendance policy but it doesn’t seem to go both ways. I’ve had two jobs set and confirmed with them and they cancelled on me both times. I missed out on over $400 from other jobs because i had my time freed up for them on the scheduled days only to get cancelled on. Not sure if this is the norm but i can’t afford to waist anymore time to find out. So far i would not recommend WorkWhile to anyone that is ready to work today or needs to work anytime soon.

I started using this app for over a week now. I’ve worked three shifts. Two at Aurora, IL and one at Burr Ridge, IL. I’m grateful for the opportunity to start earning money easily. Overall the experience working in Aurora was much better. Everything on WorkWhile worked well except for the payout feature. There was an issue getting paid out. I used the help option on WorkWhile (text message only). I reached out two days before the holiday weekend and it didn’t get resolved until three days after the holiday weekend. I kept asking what was going on with my account. The people were nice, but I never got an explanation as to what the issue was. I’m glad it’s resolved and I finally got paid. Hopefully other users don’t run into this same issue.
by DAVIDFRMATLANTA
The next day pay feature is very good and handy if you’re stuck. But, I feel WorkWhile needs some updating and they need better customer service. I say this because I did a job the other day and the job was good. It definitely was a friendly, respectful work environment. I hit it off with everybody. The supervisor ended up telling us that she was going to post on this app the shifts on our break so we can have the first dibs. My app never showed any shifts. It didn’t even appear so I can at least sign myself up for the waitlist. I then contacted customer service and they pretty much reiterated a script about working on more jobs to pick from and brushed me off. Once they fix WorkWhile problem and Up the customer service WorkWhile could blow up
by Yowlah Manlah
WorkWhile claims to be a workers app but it is really hard to get a response from customer service. I had issues with WorkWhile and one one responded for over 24 hours. App also needs more job options and it needs to stop allowing employers to block workers over silly stuff. Give employers a way to rate workers to get better instead of a block. I like that you can withdraw your funds next day.
by Scothi72
I’ve been using WorkWhile to pick up work for a few days now. So far it’s been great and very easy to use. I’ve worked 2 shifts and have a 3rd scheduled.
The one glitch I’ve ran into is an issue when trying to clock in for my shift. I got a notification telling me my shifts about to start and that I must clock in. I clicked on the clock in and thought that it had worked. About 10 minutes later I got another notification saying I haven’t signed in yet and my shift had already started! Eventually it let me sign in but it recorded me as being about 10 mins late! This was very similar to what happened to me when I attempted to clock in the night before. As a result it says my average for being on time is only about 50%!
As someone who prides themselves on being punctual it’s pretty frustrating, especially as this rating can affect the shifts WorkWhile will offer me in the future!
I’m hoping there is a way that I can have the times changed and be 100% on time, especially since my location is tracked by WorkWhile . I took a star off because of this issue, I’ll update this review if/when it gets fixed.
by Roolyf
I feel like they are trying really hard to set themselves apart by having more traditional support people expect. They got back to me asap and with a solution. No need for the back and forth other gig apps are notorious for. If they continue on this path they will dominate WorkWhile -gig market.
To be specific: I had an issue with a clocking in because of WorkWhile . Reached out in WorkWhile and within 12 hours the issue was solved (I emailed them at 7pm)
by Skfirirndn
Even though all the jobs are “wrong” to me right now because they are all “shady” and “immoral” to some beings in the system, I am still thankful to this app for providing me a way to earn a living and escape “pain” for a short while.
You guys would be cooler if you could help change the system or build a new system where we don’t have to be shady and immoral to anything for any reason and could still get what we want.
Please help all equally.

WorkWhile works great the people are friendly I had a good time I get paid when they say they’re going to pay me and I keep going back just because of that & they are one of the top sites #1 .. in my opinion they are number one and they treat me as such! It is very well-managed and they are very respectful!! Have a Happy & safe Thanksgiving everybody and God bless you all in the name of God & OUR Lord & Savior Jesus Christ .. Amen! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😇😇😇😇

I gave a review of a five star rating because my experience with this app was very good and I feel overall the worksite ran smooth and they was very organized and the job assignment had a really nice workflow and after the work shift was over and it came to it being time for me to get paid and cash out it was very simple and it posted to my account right away !
by Demi3435
I was wrongfully blocked about a year ago. I came to the site in which they said that I was not on their list. I was marked as a “No Show” despite one of the clients representatives reassuring me that they’d let the staff and platform know that I was indeed there and had no listing and therefore could not work. They still blocked me despite my clean history and patterns within the platform and reputation with its clients. This platform is what needs to be blocked.

I love the fact that I was able to make my own schedule at any time with so much ease there are different jobs available and some times it may take a few days to get paid due to overtime. The sup. Has to approve. That will be the only hold up with you pay. You can work Monday and get paid Tuesday I love love love love love WorkWhile
by Ykuioupcv
I only worked once but I have very good experienced! The payment is available 24 hours after i finish my shift I wasn’t charge any fees to transfer the balance Into my account like other apps does. :( thank God because i went to work with other apps like instawork and blue crew and they never pay me. For the job I did. And then have the choice to add my debit card or either my checking account info. The only thing theres no jobs available.

We all know that life happens and unexpected things occur that are out of our control. Since I’ve begun with WorkWhile there’s been nothing but great and prompt support from the worker’s success team! I sustained an injury while on a shift and they contacted me at least for the next week straight to check in and make sure I was feeling better. Literally every situation has been handled with care and I have nothing but good things to say about WorkWhile and the people who work in this app worker’s success
by Lalonde84
Sometimes the instructions for some jobs could use more details. Fast cash out, better pay on some jobs than other gig apps. Contact / communications is slow but it keeps costs down. Just follow the rules, it’s good. Big event locations can be a pain. Have your phone on you and set settings on “allow access” and check in with the listed supervisor to get paid fast! 8.5 of 10 stars 👍
by $kummy $ervant
Wonderful app , all it needs is a notification sound. Because when my jobs come in it doesn’t ring or make a sound or anything. It would be perfect if it was like other apps that have a notification sound so you can hear it and try to get a head start on getting the job.
by Camlibra4
I love WorkWhile and the convenience of accepting different shifts on this platform. I choose to work on my own schedule. It even tells me when it’s time to leave for my jobs so i’m not late. Made about $1500 roughly, in 2 months. I’ll pick up 2 shifts per week on average. If you do plan on using this app, consider a gas saving vehicle, 4 cylinder, or Hybrid.
by A.1366
I was truly skeptical of WorkWhile. I had read some bad reviews didn’t know much about it and didn’t trust it. But after a month of staring at it.. I tried it myself. It was a great experience. Everything was relatively fast and easy... and the pay out was easy. Overall very well executed platform.

Do not waste your time with WorkWhile I worked one shift and they said I was going to get paid $118 but then they lowered it down to $41 do not waste your time with WorkWhile I don’t even see any more jobs anymore. I couldn’t even clock in I had to delete WorkWhile and reinstall it just to clock in don’t fall
For it

My favorite part about WorkWhile is the support mechanism. Just a few clicks and a bevy of options are available. Including, a direct call back from Alejandro a member of the support staff. I have rarely if ever seen such a response for this type of staffing solutions provider. Kudos keep it up.
WorkWhile is a scam! They have you sign up and take a background check that takes about a week, but at the same time you see many jobs advertised in your area just waiting for you to complete the background check. However, once you completed the background check, the jobs disappear and all that is left is Wait-list. Then, I ended working as a Warehouse Picker for WorldPac who should be put out of business for their staff and supervisors harassment. They called me fat and were just pure rude. I informed WorkWhile of this issue and WorkWhile just sided with the employer and banned me from the location. WorkWhile also steals your wages. Play favoritism by only offering me a $14an hour job, but teasing me with ads and giving others $17 an hour for the same job. WorkWhile advertised $21 an hour for several merchandising jobs via text. I signed up for at least 8 of them. Next thing I knew Colin Mori cancelled 4 of them and claimed it was the business that cancelled them. Then only paid me $17 an hour and apologized for the mistake. Colin also would wait until 1am or in the middle of the night to cancel your upcoming shifts. They expect us to comply to showing for them, but not guarantee for us. The good thing is that if they cancel you within the 24 hour time, you would get 100 percent of the day. Overall, WorkWhile is NOT A RELIABLE SOURCE OF ANYTHING EXCEPT BS! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! THIS COMPANY IS LIKE THE MOVIE EAGLE EYE. JUST AI BOTS TARGETING THEIR ENEMIES! NO REAL PEOPLE OR THEY ARE AN AVATAR! SCARY!
THEY STEAL YOUR HOURLY RATE AFTER YOU BOOK THE JOBS. I BOOKED AT $21 AN HOUR AND THEN THEY CHANGED IT TO $17 AN HOUR! I BOOKED AND CONFIRMED AT $21 AN HOUR! THEY ARE SNEAKY AND CHANGED MY HOURLY RATE TO $17 FOR 4 HOUR WORK. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
RUN AWAY FROM WORKWHILE! THEY BOOK YOU FOR $21 AN HOUR AND THEN CHANGE IT TO $17 AN HOUR WITHOUT TELLING YOU. I HAVE THE TEXT MESSAGES AND PROOF THAT THEY ARE THEIVES!!
WorkWhile is very undependable. You have to wait about a week for a background check to clear, the only communication you have with WorkWhile is the AI Chat who don't have any pictures or a Supervisor, they don't have many companies to work for and you have to select what's available to get on the Waitlist. WorkWhile advertised several ads on Craigslist as if there were plenty of open jobs. That was a lie! ONLY WAITLIST jobs. Also, on the job site, it is very sexist and you get treated like a cow going to be slaughtered. Workwhile has an app to locate your every step at work! Not worth it!
