HeartOut gave all the hardworking music students in south Florida an opportunity to still okay their federation auditions even though it could not be done in person this year. I’m so ma y ways, it was perfect ! Very user friendly, had the ability for the student to relax in the audition because of having more than one opportunity to record and upload. After receiving the rating the student could download the recording along with the judges comments all in one file. And for the jurors, what a great opportunity to rate all the students on a schedule that was cost convenient to write well thought out constructive comments instead of being driven by the in person click schedule to finish all in one sitting. What a great program !

I was very happy with HeartOut . I had 47 students to record and submit recordings. I did most of these on my phone. What I noticed is that most of the issues we had were either user error or a phone that was an older phone. There are certainly a lot of directions to follow, but if they are followed carefully HeartOut works great almost every time!
I also had the opportunity to act as a judge this past weekend, so I could see HeartOut from the other side. I was very pleased with how easy it was to use. I was able to judge on my laptop, iPad and my phone!

HeartOut has bug fixes multiple times a month, and although the audition process works for some, it does not work for many! After recording my audition and clicking the button that ends the recording, (WiFi and airplane mode were also off during the recording process) it froze for several minutes! I could not access airplane mode or WiFi or anything except to leave HeartOut ! Then my audition was deleted and replaced with a video of me trying to take off airplane mode, even though the timer stopped when I stopped the recording. I had checked during my audition to see that it was recording, and it had been. I don’t know what happened, but the same thing was repeated on the third audition recording.

So we were doing an audition for a piano competition, and during the audition there was a disruption. We were able to contact the people from heart out via their website it was very convenient. They got back to us right away, and were able to remove the problem audition.

Extremely helpful, great support, people were very nice. What makes HeartOut outstanding is really the excellent support staff associated with it.

We have used HeartOut for our music festival submission and it has been fantastic! If you can follow simple directions, it’s HeartOut for you! For those that say it “doesn’t work” I can say you didn’t follow the instructions. Tech support was outstanding for the setup of our festival and response time to any questions was great. We had 500+ entries and we will be hosting again this way next year.

Used for state auditions - easy to use for any age, kid-friendly especially.
EVERYTHING was listed step-by-step in tutorials. Customer service is lightning fast.
We had 3 attempts (controlled by the judges, not this app) which was great because I could listen back before deciding which to submit.
People complain because they didn’t read instructions/watch tutorials provided... what else is new.
I’d give it 10 stars. Great app!!!!

HeartOut is annoying. I have used it for two auditions and both times HeartOut glitched multiple times causing me to delete and reinstall HeartOut . The first time I made second chair and I’m still waiting on the results of my second audition so I’m not just salty. On my second audition though, it shorted me a response. I was supposed to have 3 responses but every time I tried to do the third one it kept saying “there was an error, try again.” I was going to delete HeartOut and reinstall, but the instructions were clear to not exit the audition. Idk I hope my second audition did well.

I’m so angry. Literally spent an hour utilizing the test recording, acoustics, etc. Finally time to record, following all directions from the tutorial and my teacher. Felt really good because the real thing was my best run through yet. Except for the fact that after all that, this app decided to not save my audition. No I didn’t close out HeartOut or log out or literally anything other than to tap the heart button to conclude recording. Figured that I would at least get to preview the recording but nope. It’s floating around in cyberspace somewhere and my head hurts too much to troubleshoot it right now. Never again

When submitting auditions for more than one child, HeartOut quit and when it restarted it switched to the other child’s audition. But the user interface does not tell you which audition you are on as a result we were not able to submit additions. My Kids worked too long and hard to be let down by a poorly designed app!! Very frustrating.

i had to use HeartOut to submit my ISSMA solos and it worked perfectly fine for me. i saw all the bad reviews for HeartOut and got very nervous about recording my solos, but i wanted to say i had no problems with HeartOut. it recorded very well and was very simple to use.

also good luck to anyone else who is using HeartOut for ISSMA!! :)

Used this for the Missouri Solo and Ensemble, all worked decently, but if you didn’t know any better, You’d think I had a dating app on my phone. I mean, with the name “heart out” and the icon being a big heart, it really seems like I’m some desperate person looking for a dated but nope, I’m just submitting a recording for a music competition

If I could give HeartOut zero stars I would. It’s needed for Indiana Solo & Ensemble this year. I have 3 pages of instructions to follow which headache enough. And now, HeartOut won’t work. I set up the acct and tried to do a test recording and that’s as far as I got. HeartOut is either locked up or doesn’t recognize the sign-in credentials. Doesn’t allow me to make a new password but neither will it allow me to try to create a new account. I give up!!!

There is nothing as good as HeartOut. It could not be easier to submit my violin audition, just record and upload to the judges. I honestly don’t understand the people saying negative things, probably they are not very good players...

I had to use HeartOut for my states Solo & Ensemble contest, and the three tries to make it as good as I can puts a lot of pressure on you. I would have the auditions give you unlimited tries so you can make the best one possible, because you don’t have to worry about the stress of only getting three attempts. If there was an an ability to rate HeartOut zero stars I would. The concept is there, but HeartOut is just horrible to use.

We used them for statewide festivals in Colorado and HeartOut and customer service were amazing. Highly recommend! We will be using them again.

Not only is HeartOut easy to use, but this app also has amazing customer service to help out whenever I need it!

Tried to record my audition of High School All State and it ruined all of the recordings (except one which was my worst). I had to get them to reset my auditions and still, it didn’t save any of my recordings and it says that there is a “wifi problem” when there literally wasn’t. Glitchiest app award goes to “this app”

I was only able to properly record 3 out of 5 audition videos because 2 of them glitched. The last 2 I recorded and when I hit the stop button, it would freeze. When I hit the recording button to see if the video would save, it started recording again and I lost my audition.

My students loved auditioning. They could all do it from home and they all played amazing!

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. Even worse than my dog dying. HeartOut has no right to be on the same App Store as Minecraft pocket edition. I would rather watch Elmo death compilation 1 for 63 hours straight than use this piece of crAPP (see what I did there). In conclusion, I am very unsatisfied with this joke of an app

When I had problems with my audition, the Heart Out team was very quick to address my concerns. I’m really impressed with how simple they made the audition process for me.

I’ve used it and I love it. UI looks really nice and clean. Everything works so smooth 👍🏻
