Jigsaw Puzzle Reviews

WAY too many ads. The second I select “Tap To Start” to get into JigsawPuzzle , I’m immediately ported to an ad for other apps and the only way to get out of the ads is to close JigsawPuzzle . That’s a shame because the photos are very appealing, and the difficulty is totally in control of the player.

But I’m not going to constantly view ads just to put a jigsaw puzzle together. And I’m in no position financially to purchase a premium version of JigsawPuzzle , which may or may not solve this problem. So I have deleted JigsawPuzzle and have moved on to another jigsaw puzzle app that I hope will be more relaxing.

JigsawPuzzle is super frustrating. While working on a puzzle quadrant, it won’t move to next quadrant until I use a hint. I stopped using quadrant feature for this reason and now I have about 20 puzzles that show status as 99% complete but are actually 100% complete. For some reason, puzzle thinks I have missing pieces into 1-2 quadrants, but if you click on those tabs, no pieces show up and puzzle is complete.

Lots of beautiful puzzles for free and the option to rotate pieces or have them all set right side up for you is helpful for different age levels or moods, but I wish you could work the whole puzzle at once instead of a quarter of the puzzle at a time. Also, JigsawPuzzle has some sort of glitch where it dims the screen randomly which makes it really hard to see the details you need to put the puzzle together. It gets pretty annoying.

Good - Lots of free puzzle variety and categorized well to choose what you’re interested in, including “mystery” options. Different piece count options allow you to spend whatever time you like completing the puzzle. New puzzles are added frequently.

Not so good - the ad interface forces you to watch 5 second ads before starting the puzzle and as soon as you complete it. Once you complete the puzzle and watch the ad, JigsawPuzzle sends you back to the start of category, it does not take you back the next puzzle. Also, unfortunately, the ads often freeze, requiring you to reboot JigsawPuzzle ...particularly the Facebook ads. If the ad doesn’t freeze, it often takes just as long to click out of it and choose a new puzzle...meaning, a 5 second ad turns into a 10-15 second ad.

Ever since the recent update it seems the puzzles have a glitch. Pieces never go to their spot. Before if I would put it relatively close to the spot it would just go. Takes more work and acts as if the piece doesn’t go in the spot it’s supposed to. Also if I’m done with a section of the puzzle, most of the time it will not move on to it the next section. So now I have to find what pieces aren’t clicked in all the way to log on. Doesn’t always work and someone’s have to exit out JigsawPuzzle . Lastly, if I chose to review the puzzle while working on a section it shows me the whole puzzle now. Before it would show the section you were working on which was super helpful for 400 pieces. It’s honestly annoying for an app I enjoy and use everyday. Would be getting 5 starts if it wasn’t for these inconveniences.

I’d love to give JigsawPuzzle five stars, as the puzzle images are truly beautiful, and the mechanics for organizing the puzzle pieces are helpful. Even the ads are unintrusive (which I see often because I refuse to pay a subscription fee for puzzles—it’d be nice to have a one time payment option).

However, I have to point out the HORRIBLE issues JigsawPuzzle has with saving puzzle progress that have emerged with recent updates. Too many times, I’ve made EXTENSIVE progress on a puzzle, switched to another app to do something or locked my phone, and when I go back to JigsawPuzzle , all my progress is GONE. It’s incredibly difficult to enjoy the puzzles knowing that at any point, you’ll have to redo all your hard work.

We ran out of physical puzzles and JigsawPuzzle came to the rescue! Fun for the whole family given the piece count and rotate options and the find edges feature.

Unfortunately it has been a huge drain on the battery for both our iPhones and iPads. Battery percentage drops steadily while playing and the devices run hot. Devices that would easily last most of the day now have to be plugged in the play JigsawPuzzle . Not sure if it is the music, the ads, or something else, but it is unlike any other apps/games we play.

The cost to remove ads is too high. I would be willing to pay for JigsawPuzzle , if only to remove the way-too-many ads, but definitely not a subscription. Between the battery issues and subscription cost it is not worth it.

Overall the free version is good enough for some family fun.

Ok so this is a fun game and I love all the puzzles on there. They’re really cool once your done, but the only thing is there are SO MANY ADS. I was about to delete JigsawPuzzle because of that! It has so many for you even get to start the puzzle and before you choose a puzzle and then sometimes when you’re in a middle of a puzzle and then also after each time it has about five add I’m not joking!

This was one of my favorites apps until two days ago...JigsawPuzzle keeps malfunctioning. I’ve erased an downloaded it again a couple of times to try and fix the problem. I also shut my phone down and checked for updates which are all completed. JigsawPuzzle will let me choose a puzzle then when I go into begin the puzzle it only gives me four pieces, or the pieces at the bottom of the screen are all jumbled up. It’s really frustrating because I love JigsawPuzzle!

I enjoy piecing together the entire puzzle in front of me, and I would rather have all the puzzle pieces scattered so I can organize them. I get that many would rather have pieces on a slide, but it’s not my preference.
I’m looking for a jigsaw puzzle that allows the player to work the entire puzzle, even though the pieces are tiny. And I’m looking for one that is not subscription-based. I’m sorry, but if I am forced to pay a subscription, I’ll go out and buy a real jigsaw puzzle.

I have a lot of fun with this; however, several bugs have been occurring frequently:
When I play using quadrants and complete a section, the game is supposed to shunt over to the next section - except it doesn’t always. The only way around this has been to “sweep” the board (even though all pieces are together in their proper places). Sweeping then removes several pieces out of the puzzle that you then have to put back in. Sometimes this doesn’t work, though. The only other solution is to exit the game, sit through another ad, go back to the puzzle, and try again. This also doesn’t always work. Sometimes I just have to not play for a few days until it begins working properly again.
A similar issue happens with completed puzzles. I will complete it, go into “My Puzzles,” and see it in there with only a percentage completed. Sometimes when I go back into it, there are no pieces to add in and the puzzle just sits there incomplete. Sometimes I can sweep out pieces and put them back in, but it still doesn’t get marked complete and I can’t do anything with it.
These aren’t game-breaking issues, but they are annoying.

I’m thinking that this is the perfect puzzle app! So many great features. You have the option of only viewing/working on 1/4 of the puzzle pieces at a time and the part of the puzzle that you are working on is zoomed in. That’s very nice if you have sight issues. However, if you would prefer zooming out and having the entire puzzle available at the same time, that’s also an option! I do like how you can see the picture of the puzzle on the board if you choose. It’s also nice how the pieces will lock into place if you figure out where it belongs in the puzzle but the other surrounding pieces for it to join with haven’t been identified yet. I love that there is screen space so that you can put pieces together and then move them off the board until you figure out where they go so that they aren’t in the way. My only complaint is that the puzzle pieces are a little too weirdly shaped. Maybe mellow it out a bit.

This is my favorite puzzle game. I love how you do a section of it at a time. that makes it much easier to complete the 400 piece puzzles. Since I love to do the edge first I like how I can separate the edge pieces and complete that first. This game has A LOT of free puzzles and they constantly update with more free puzzles, so if you don’t have money to spend to unlock all the puzzles you can easily play for free.

There are two things that I would love to see changed about the game. I would love to puzzles go up to 1000 pieces. I love really big puzzles and I always do the 400 piece puzzles. I would also like to be able to keep the way I organize puzzle pieces at the bottom, so that when I exit the game and come back they are still in the same order I put them. I like to separate my puzzle by color and each time I return to the game the puzzle pieces are mixed up again. The only time they stay where they are is when I place them on the board. If this changed this would be a 5 star game.

I have loved this game but it’s gone haywire. I may get to 99 percent complete, and then it might set it back say to 44 percent, or zero. This last time it showed about a fifth of the image clear across the bottom, and the pieces in the queue were just multiple pictures of an entirely different puzzle. Also, it will hiccup when I scroll down a picture gallery, going part way down and then flipping back to the top. I deleted it and downloaded again. The hiccups are there but I haven’t yet tried another puzzle. If the other problem appears l will have to permanently delete it. Nothing worse after putting in an hour or two solving a 400 piece puzzle for it to self destruct.

This is a good puzzle game, I love it. One of the problems I have with it is that I want to do the 100 and up puzzle pieces all together as one big puzzle instead of doing it by sections and corners. You should make it an option to do it in section or all together. With this being the way it is I only do the puzzles with 64 pieces and I’m close to deleting JigsawPuzzle because of it. Please take into consideration my suggestion. Thank you

At 80 years, I finally have some time to enjoy my Golden years! Thank you for offering free jigsaw puzzles!!!! I’m loving working them….they help to keep me sharp!!!
I only wish I could find them so I could get them to load easier!! Am I missing something ????

Thank goodness you brought in the Segment feature. I missed that. I would still like to be able to zoom in while in this mode. It's still helpful to be closer in the image to match pieces. The ghost feature is genius!

I love this jigsaw puzzle app. I use the free version and still get loads of enjoyment out of it. The daily puzzles ensure that there’s always a new puzzle to play. Some of the upgraded puzzles are available if you watch a short video, so not too bad.
Customer Service is just tops! I submitted feedback about the background options they have, and within days, they’d made the suggested updates. I was very, very impressed!
I’ve gotten hours of enjoyment out of JigsawPuzzle. According to the in-app statistics, that totals up to 157 puzzles. New puzzles are released all the time, so I know I won’t run out even at this pace!

I used to love this puzzle app. Relaxing and enjoyable. The best puzzle app (of many) I’ve tried. Since the update, there are so many glitches, it’s completely unplayable. Pieces getting stuck one on top of the other— pieces that refuse to stick together— and pieces that won’t stay in one place. So disappointing.
Can you please fix or revert changes?

Jigsaw puzzles makes me happy cause I love puzzles.! I made a puzzle with my uncle and we finish it in literally 20 minutes max. Puzzles make me feel like I found my happy place a lot I got on and it has 1,000 peace’s and it is almost finished and I did it with my little sis she is autistic and I also did it with my mom.
