Just downloaded and use the app for my shopping trip today after noticing in the weekly ad that there are now “digital coupons”. You are supposed to be able to add the coupons to your barcode and have them scanned for an addition discount on goods, however, after checking my receipt, not a single one of them worked. It wasn’t that I picked up wrong items because they have the sale item marked in store which I appreciate and the ad is marked for my store so prices should be accurate. 18-ct eggs were supposed to be $ .98, I paid $1.15, Diet Pepsi was supposed to be $1.95, I paid $2.29, avocados were supposed to be $ .69ea, I paid $ .79ea. Chuck roast was supposed to be $4.24/lb, I paid $4.99/lb. It is difficult to look at the receipt and know what you paid because it shows whole dollar savings so until you calculate discounts, you don’t know what you paid. Normally I would’ve asked for an adjustment/refund, but there was only one worker who knew a little about the app and they were shorthanded so I didn’t want to be the Karen holding up the line. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but if you go through the effort to download their coupons and make a special trip to their store to shop to get these deals, it’s pretty disappointing to not receive them.

I’ve been bamboozled not once but twice by this company with this false promise of “15% off first purchase coupon” I get it, the merchandise is already well priced, but please understand as a buyer my behavior changes based on calculated savings. I get up to your register twice with a full cart the first time I show the cashier my s&f account with this coupon, web version, & I’m told oh it has to be the app, I’m not a jerk who holds up lines trying to download apps so I said oh never mind then. So this next time I’m ready I’ve downloaded your slow app double checked my coupons are clipped barcode for my account exists, I get up to the register, your app “freezes” opens but will not show my barcode. It would be no big deal, tech issues happen, if it weren’t for the fact the only reason I made the purchases I made was with that coupon in mind. I’m not going back you can keep your fake discounts to lure potential new customers in, you fooled me twice and I’m salty enough now to avoid this business like the plague. Deleting the shady app!

This app allows you to go through the order process but on completion of your order, a message pops up and says “a problem has occurred try back later.” While an order is NOT produced, this app puts the HOLD ON YOUR ACCOUNT. So I went back later, so got 2 holds on my bank account. Not sure what “later” means. I dealt with Victor in Smart & Final “suppor”. In all the time I spent with him telling him about the bogus debits did he give me any information on how to process an order for delivery with Smart and Final. Nor did he say that app would be removed. He had no customer education whatsoever. Maybe he doesn’t work for Smart and Final. Surely he would have told me. I see the app is still available to download. Maybe they just want to continue irritating the customers
I have downloaded the Aldi app which I will use for grocery delivery. I apologize if this is a duplicate (or almost) review but I was pretty upset. Why don’t they educate their customers.?
