Easy Interface, Simple Display

This is a really good app that is simple to use and has a design that is very easy on the eyes. The workout editing is very intuitive—easy to follow. The mid-workout display provides a helpful animation to demonstrate how the exercise is executed. I’ve only just begun the full version, so I can’t speak to the stats feature yet. Optimistic though. The only suggestion would be to have an available blurb or description of the exercise in addition to the animation. Perhaps cautioning against common mistakes or tendencies that lessen the exercise’s effectiveness.

Update: Stats feature is great. But it made me realize that there are no ab exercises in the full body routine, and it can’t be edited. (Similar note: planks are not an available ab exercise in the Custom Workout builder.)

Customizable, Easy App to Use

I use DumbbellHomeWorkout at home in lieu of going to the gym, especially with COVID going on at the moment. DumbbellHomeWorkout is super easy to use. It allows you to set the weight and reps and syncs with your iPhone Health app. It’s very important that you set the weight and reps PRIOR to conducting the workout. DumbbellHomeWorkout is definitely worth trying out!

That being said, I believe that there are some additional workouts that can be added, such as military press, oblique twists, and sit-ups. Another thing that I think would be awesome is to have an “information button” that would provide helpful information/checkpoints on each exercise so that people can ensure that they are using proper form. Just food for thought.

I Still Don’t Look Like the CGI Guy ......

A month in, and I still don’t look like the CGI guy in the exercise examples. What gives!?!? But to the credit of DumbbellHomeWorkout, Keto, and 16/8 Intermittent Fasting, I am 22 lbs down in a little over a month. The weight loss is mostly due to strict adherence to the diet, but the muscle tone and definition is due to doing the “Get Shredded” workout. I am still unable to do the pull up exercises, so I substitute these with additional dumbbell exercises that target the same muscles. I also do 30 minutes of cardio post weight lifting while I am still in a fat burning state from the workout. Overall, great app and easy to use. Highly recommend it if you have some Dumbbells and an adjustable bench.

This application is amazing

Been using this application for 5 months now. It makes lifting dumbbells really simple, by keeping track of your sets. I find that my brain gets annoyed of keeping track of where I’m at with sets and so on. Lifting and keeping track of what you’ve done and what to do next always seemed tedious to me. This application with my Powerblocks has been a great addition to my life

The only thing I would add is the ability to set individual rest times between exercises because some don’t require as much as others and I could trim down overall work out times. But that’s just nitpicking. This application is amazing

Respect and Blessings

Life changing for work from home

DumbbellHomeWorkout makes creating a routine so easy. For the basic exercises, all you need is a set of adjustable dumbbells and a flat bench. If you don’t have a bench, you can customize your own workouts using the available exercises and dial in exactly how much weight you want to lift, reps, and sets.

I have been following the total split, five days a week and sometimes adding a 6th workout. Completing Workouts at my lunch hour, it takes me between 25-45 minutes depending on how much of the rest time I choose to take in between reps/sets.

Very easy to follow - highly recommend.

Great app, except for a couple of things

Love DumbbellHomeWorkout, it’s great!
The only two things I’d change are: allow me to go back from a workout and then back into it. Like, I can’t view the settings in the middle of a workout without it making me restart a workout.
Second, I don’t like that when DumbbellHomeWorkout counts down or plays the ‘beeps’ for the timer, it dims out your music and then doesn’t bring it back. You have to exit DumbbellHomeWorkout and then go back in to have your music at normal volume again.

Other than those things it’s a great app. Love that for a small fee I can built my own workout, complete with sets and days. And then track my progress. Simple, easy, cheap.

One minor Improvement

Absolutely LOVE DumbbellHomeWorkout (especially the extra -though purchased- features). The only two features I believe would make this better is the ability to adjust the weight (like the reps) DURING the workout. I caught myself not making the weight I pre-set and I couldn’t remember what I set it to during the workout. This brings me to my next feature which would be to see a total record of what one did throughout the workout (I.e total reps and what weight the user set it at during each). These added features would be amazing to see.

Very Good App but it can be made the Best

App is simple and has most usefull dumbbell exercise. However, I wish if DumbbellHomeWorkout developers consider adding the below mentioned excercises and a feature to make it best. Feature1. User should be able to move the excerise up or down to change the sequence especially in the custom workout. Currently i have to make the whole custom plan from scratch if i need to change the order ornadd excercise in between. Feature2. Should be able to skip an exercise while working out. Currently the user has to mark it done. Exercise1. Wrist curls, Wrist reverse curls Excercise2. Dumbbell side bend for Abs And a few more simple dumbbell excercise if you wish to. Thanks.

Simple, & all you need

Great app for beginners. Shows me form, provides essential workouts pre-created, easily adjustable during workout for tracking purposes and really just well designed.

I did want to ask if there’s a way to adjust the weight during the workout or after, similar to how I can adjust the amount of reps I do in a single exercise. Sometimes a certain workout requires less weight than the default weight pre-set during the workout session.

Works pretty well, with some unknowns

Offers plenty of dumbbell workouts with customization. Nice voice announcements if reps/weights. Simple interface with helpful animated diagrams of each exercise. After a couple weeks of using it, it’s hard to tell if the suggested weights for each exercise will stay the same until the user changes them, or if they will automatically increase to continue challenging the user. This is a feature in another strength training app that I enjoy, and since DumbbellHomeWorkout doesn’t ask for height/weight/gender or for user goals, it doesn’t have the info necessary to suggest weights or exercises. Would be a welcome update.

Amazing app! Maybe some minor additions.

DumbbellHomeWorkout has been great especially while in quarantine!!! I think it’d be cool to see some new exercises added in as well as more pre made workout plans. Finally, if possible I think they should add a diagram that shows what muscles you’re working. If you’ve never worked out before or your apprehensive about DumbbellHomeWorkout, give it a shot. If you want the full version it’s just a one time payment! Also add more legs and abs stuff!!!!

Update: There’s a small glitch with audio when the timer for rounds goes off. It just softens your music and you have to go to your home creen to get it back up.

At nearly 62 years old, I’ve never been stronger.

Shame on me. I haven’t yet committed myself to a diet I would call great. But I have remained steady with this program. I rapidly dropped 15 pounds, then slowly gained back 15 pounds of muscle. I’ve been lifting dumbbells for over 25 years, and this program really put things together for me. I used to say that all a person needs to be fit is a bench and a couple of dumbbells. Now I’d say you need the bench, the weights, and DumbbellHomeWorkout.

Great tool

It is a very handy tool. Very simple to use. I love the design your own workout function too. I use it most every day. I just wish they would add the body weight exercises they have in their Weight Loss app so I could have more varying circuits all within this one app. I also wish that I could select which arm/leg to use when adding one sided exercises. Other than that, it’s great!

Dumbbells Workout

I downloaded since I was getting burned out on my previous dumbbell workout plan. This one is simple but good. A suggested update would include the ability to increase weights inside the same set of exercises (I.e; bench press, set one - 12 reps, 35 lbs, set two - 10 reps, 45 lbs, etc. also, the ability to copy full day plans onto a new day ( I. E; want to do a four day workout but copy day one onto day three without having to recreate the whole days exercises, reps, weights, etc.

Good Variety of Exercises, Multiple Workouts

Tried it just to try some new workouts. The various workouts cover main muscle groups and switch between groups. Enjoy using and after several weeks not bored yet.

This is a basic program so unable to put the weight for each set. The program doesn’t have multiple week workouts.

Really beginner friendly and more

I haven’t worked out in forever so I’ve started on the beginner segment. What’s great about it is that the model does it with you and continues until you push “Done”. It recommends 12 French presses (for example) and if you want to progress and do 20 the model keeps going until you are done. Makes it so easy and helpful. I really like DumbbellHomeWorkout.

Best of its type!

Overall, DumbbellHomeWorkout is best of the dumbbell workouts that I have tried. The only real areas of improvement that I’d recommend would be continuing to update the exercises (there are a bunch of dumbbell or bodyweight exercises that are missing), as well as allowing users to add their own exercises (by name only would be fine since there is really no way to add the graphics).

Muted Sound

DumbbellHomeWorkout and the barbell app from the same makers would be perfect except for the fact that my music volume is lowered every time the voice comes a stays lowered. Once the person speaks, I have to click out of DumbbellHomeWorkout , the volume goes back to normal then I click back in, do the set and keep repeating until the entire workout is complete. It gets annoying and makes the work out longer. Fix this issue and it's a five star app.

New User

Nice app, but just getting started. Would like to see DumbbellHomeWorkout re-correct the volume for music play after DumbbellHomeWorkout notifies you. It turns it down to speak but doesn’t turn it back up. Question: are there any plans to make DumbbellHomeWorkout iWatch compatible or am I missing something in the configuration? Looking forward to using DumbbellHomeWorkout extensively.

Great App

Love DumbbellHomeWorkout - however, when playing background music while using app, music is softened while app voice is regular volume. If volume is increased to enjoy music during workout, workout voice is too loud.

Recommendation - reduce background music during app voice then return volume to set level (Waze app does a great job of this).

Sound issue but great workout

Love DumbbellHomeWorkout but since upgrading to the iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 13.3 the audio no longer works (except for the timer beeps) even after multiple reinstalls (and losing my data in the process). Hope that this is fixed soon as DumbbellHomeWorkout has become an important part of my workout routine.

Great workout app, needs Apple Watch support

This is a fantastic app! Does everything well without a bunch of additional nonsense. Custom workouts, voice prompts, syncs with Apple health, everything you need for a great workout. Just needs Apple Watch support and this would be a killer app. Keep up the great work.

By

Just what I was looking for!

Easy to use app with 5 different routines. It’s like the only app I could find that doesn’t have a monthly fee (1 time donation, plus the free version is still useful).

My complaints are minor; your music volume turns down when you start the workout (but it’s easy to just turn up your music though) and I’d like some ab exercises too.

Overall very nice. Available workouts are limited but even the paid version, which is a one time payment, is very inexpensive. You also have three options to choose how much to pay. I will be using DumbbellHomeWorkout from now on.

Dumbbell App

I like that DumbbellHomeWorkout has a timer to do a set, timer to rest and it lets you know when to move in to the next exercise.
I just got back started working out and this will be my go to for 90 days!

Excited about DumbbellHomeWorkout!

Really Great App

I was looking forward to working out everyday for a couple months...I only have dumbbells and a bench at my house, so this is such a perfect app to start out with. Thank You to the people that put work into making this workout app👌

Great app

Best app I’ve found that doesn’t require a subscription. I did indulge in the create your own workout portion that does require a 1 time payment but I think it’s worth it. I gave 4 stars because there could be more exercises added as options to choose from. Especially for abs. Otherwise I’m very happy. Great job!
