Altec Lansing Just Listen Reviews

My phone wouldn’t pair with my Altec speakers. I was following the manual instructions. So I downloaded AltecLansingJustListen and within a few minutes, late at night, I was texting with Altec Tech Support.
A different method of pairing was suggested and that method worked! My phone and speakers are now paired. Unbelievably quick service.
Thats what AltecLansingJustListen is for - - to get quick tech support.

AltecLansingJustListen is junk as it portrays the ability to reach out to the support team. It “Says” they answer IMMEDIATELY. Not so. I waited quite awhile to get no help. Then, when my new earbuds once again failed, I NEVER got any answer from the 24x7 help desk. AltecLansingJustListen says it has tutorials for the various products, yet, those don’t work. AltecLansingJustListen is just as bad as the company’s website that lacks utility. I was looking forward to my purchase today of the earbuds. Yet, given the problems that I experienced there, plus the bad app, website and lack of help, I’m returning it tomorrow.

A lot of people are complaining because they used AltecLansingJustListen to tweak their speaker usage as advertised and it does not work. (Which is fair), but I downloaded AltecLansingJustListen to get technical support with my speaker. They solved the problem right away. I’m pleased. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Perhaps we are all destined to learn the hard way! There should be a law against these types of useless apps. Why ALTEC waisted the feeble effort in putting AltecLansingJustListen together is beyond any imagination. Those that say “it’s great for Support” don’t take into account the time and effort it takes to add AltecLansingJustListen to your device. Support can easily be accomplished in more efficient ways. Anyhow, deleted/trash! Shame on ALTEC for spinning such nonsense! Makes one wonder if their products deserve similar fates?

I downloaded AltecLansingJustListen to get in touch with customer support and it works well. The chat person was pleasant, quick, and efficiently solved my problem. Perfect.

I also found out AltecLansingJustListen lets you keep track of your Altec Lansing products in a little inventory list. That’s pretty neat as I have multiple AL products.

The product information is limited and only has additional info for a few products.

But If you need to chat with customer support, this is the way to go.

I downloaded AltecLansingJustListen thinking that I’d be able to tune stuff on my boombox but… nope!
As others have stated, you can’t do anything here other than “break in” your speakers with some white noise (and I guess warranty claims)
Anyway, the website lies, you can’t do *any of the following*:

“Download the Just Listen App to fully customize your RockBox XL. Control your lighting modes, set EQ preferences, and discovery all the Altec Lansing has to offer!”

I was really hoping that a company like Altec Lansing would have a killer app that would add some sound dynamics to my headphones, but no such luck. First, it requires a serial number, which my headphones did not come with. So, I just put a random number just to get AltecLansingJustListen working. Turns out, I didn’t really need it, because AltecLansingJustListen adds nothing. Links to promo videos and basic info that I could easily get from their website. Don’t bother.

AltecLansingJustListen does not have a lot of functionality. I could not get the “warmup” file to play, kept saying to pair the earbuds. I sent an email with AltecLansingJustListen and that bounced back saying the support address does not exist.

Useless app that does nothing for you. Basically a scam to collect data on unsuspecting customers who are expecting advertised customization features. Makes me uncomfortable that I bought their product having been tricked like this. I Will not buy another product from Altec and may return this one. Just the kind of Bull Sh@! one comes to expect these days....

On the box of my Rockbox XL it says I should download AltecLansingJustListen to customize and change equalizer settings. AltecLansingJustListen offers ZERO customization and ZERO equalizer settings of any kind. All it can do is provide basic info and play a white noise file through my speaker. Useless, deleting, and probably returning my speaker. Equalizer settings were a big selling point and there are none.

new altec headphones arrived so i connected them to my phone and started using them. 10 minutes in they start beeping non stop. The information in the box led me to AltecLansingJustListen.

AltecLansingJustListen couldnt tell if i was even connected to headphones let along altec lansing headphones. AltecLansingJustListen contained no additional FAQ info or info about the beeping. I went through help chat in app which never responded to me.

The sole purpose of AltecLansingJustListen is to advertise other altec lansing products - which i can only assume work as poorly as these headphones and AltecLansingJustListen.

AltecLansingJustListen doesn’t work, plain and simple..

AltecLansingJustListen does nothing but gives you the opportunity to register your equipment so they can build their marketing database.

It doesn’t even connect to equipment still being sold in stores like the imw678.

Wish I could give it less than one star

Literally the person I was talking to was taking five+ minutes to respond to my simple answers to his question and then literally just stopped talking altogether. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

Everything by this company is a complete joke. Seriously, spend a little extra money on something decent.

Warm Up failed. Keeps asking to pair headphones. Tried unpairing, pairing, the tried Warm Up.....asks to pair headphones. Take my word for it. THEY ARE PAIRED!! I’m listening to music right now. Punch your product dev in thier heads and tell them to try again.

I was looking for actual useful information. Not to be found on AltecLansingJustListen! An equalizer would have also been choice. Super Nope. Disappointment squared.

Totally USELESS, if you attempted to make a WORSE App, it’d probably be better than this crap.
Go back to the drawing board and make an app that people can actually use.

A waste if time, does nothing! Best portable speaker is Anker Soundcore+. Incredible sound and app with HD Bluetooth, EQ, different sound profiles and automatic firmware updates. That’s right, it gets better automatically! Skip Altec Lansing junk!

Not sure why they bothered to put this out. It adds no value to my speakers and I’m disappointed I wasted my time on it.

Never have I ever experienced such a useless app. You can’t even control any of the functionality through AltecLansingJustListen and it doesn’t give you any information about your headphones i.e. battery life, being able to switch between music and noise cancellation seamlessly etc 😐. Probably will delete.

App offers nothing at all to improve user experience.

Entirely a marketing brochure and no actual functionality. But it’s Altec Lansing so I guess you get what you pay for.
