Doesn’t Work ‘Here’

Well, not too much to say...
Not novices here. Former professional musician who’s been tuning instruments for over 25 years. This tuner is simply ‘wrong’. It just doesn’t register the correct notes being played. Tried working with it on two different stringed instruments and three different wind instruments. The notes being played (regardless of being sharp or flat) simply don’t correspond to the notes being displayed on the tuner.
Sorry to say, this one just isn’t worth our time.
There are excellently precise tuners (apps) available that will not let you down. If your goal is to actually be ‘in tune’, you’d be much better off with one of those.
Perhaps the developer of PitchedTuner should bring it back to the virtual drawing board and do a bit of fine ‘tuning’ before re-releasing it.
Thank you and good luck.

Unfortunate issues since iOS update

The developer has been very responsive in trying to troubleshoot this issue, but the problem persists in that when I launch PitchedTuner now it doesn’t listen using the microphone? This may have something to do with my hearing aids, which are paired to my iPhone. It worked flawlessly before updating my iOS device, and there are workarounds, but I shouldn’t have to go into my preferences and disable and reenable hearing aids in order to use PitchedTuner. My issues may be unique otherwise it’s a wonderful app. That was my favorite turning app.

Wonderful tool

I use PitchedTuner to tune my guitar. What I love about it is that using it also trains my ear - I'm getting better at determining if my string is flat or sharp. My only complaints are that I wish it were a little louder (even with the phone volume at max), and once in a while it goes on the fritz and I have to close and reopen it. But neither point is a big deal.

Great app for tuning some instruments

I’ve been using this to mainly to tune a soprano saxophone and for that it works really well, but how is someone supposed to tune a baritone saxophone when the note you need to play is F#4 which is not a note very commonly played by this instrument. And you can’t change the note you want to tune to without having to pay??? Really???

Good Tool

Having been aural piano tuner/ tech for many years I have seen all kinds of tuning devices and apps and the one thing I can say for sure , is that apps are getting better and better with their technology Although I have long since retired , I do have fun experimenting and checking my own piano with some of the less expensive apps on line . Your is one I like .

A Versatile Instrument and Chromatic Tuner

There’s quite a range of instruments to select, including 5 and 6 string basses, as well as woodwind and brass instruments.
Through Preferences you can even adjust mic sensitivity, and store custom pitch tuning references.

So far two updates are needed in the version following 4.0.1:
1. The 10 segment volume meter (turned on/off in Preferences) needs far greater contrast in the “unlit” sections to better see volume changes when they occur, and the segments need decibel indicators.
2. On the Sound Note wheel, include the frequency of each note.

Greatest tuner of all time

Works for anything i even learn frequencies from PitchedTuner
I tuned all my instruments too, u can even tune a piano using it, all you need is a fully working microphone on your phone
Thank u thank u for making PitchedTuner im grateful and wish u the best

Great and shows correct frequency

Tuner works great shows the correct frequency and oddly made by apple. It does not jive with logic where this one tells you the note is a B2 for instance and that is the note. Logic will say it is a B1 on the midi keyboard, no matter what instruments attached to it fix the glitch in logic Apple.

Please answer!!

I love to check out PitchedTuner I have it downloaded but I have a question and I would like to get a response as soon as possible please so ifI’m singing into the mic and it picks up the notes does the orange on the left hand side mean flat And the green on the right means it’s sharp???

Orchestra teacher approved!

PitchedTuner is really helpful for my students; teaching tuning over Zoom is hard, but being able to select an instrument and see whether you should go higher or lower gives my kids half a chance. Thanks for making it available!

Piano tuning

Please respond back as soon as possible if you can . This is more like a question but in PitchedTuner can you find the tuning instrument on the piano so that you can tune a piano by using PitchedTuner as well. I mean, where are you go under other instruments or what it’s called are you able to go down and click on in piano and find out if the piano needs to end or not it’s hard to explain. But I’m just curious, anyWho PitchedTuner is very good honestly keep up the great work man! 👍

Great music app!

PitchedTuner is really great and helps me a lot when I’m writing songs and am trying to make sure my vocal notes fit in the same key as my guitar parts. Also very helpful when I don’t have access to a piano. The only thing I’ve noticed that is missing is a place to press note buttons and hear the pitch that goes to the letter note. I haven’t seen the two put together in about 10 years and it would be a really helpful feature.

For vocal pitch

This has been extremely helpful. I’ve been using it to dial in pitchy spots on scales or song melodies. It’s helped me to see whether I’m coming into certain notes sharp or flat and rooting out those problem spots. Tried another app before this one. This one here is much easier to work with for my application.

This has been my go-to app

This is been great for standard tuning on a 6-string guitar, and for adding some custom tuning‘s for my experiments with a lyre and 3-string Cigar Box Guitar, but I did just notice that there was an open G tuning for guitar that seems inaccurate, and I’m not sure how to flag that without adding it to my review? I hope that helps?

Best tuning app out there.

Excellent app, I’ve tried 8 different tuning apps and this is my favorite. Accurate, clean UI design, allows for different instruments and voice. I use it daily for voice, guitar and bass tuning. Big shout to the devs, job well done. Don’t be fooled into using other tuning apps that slap some instrument brand in the name. PitchedTuner is the most useful and accurate.

Really sweet app

I didn’t think I’d find this as useful as I actually do. It seems geared towards instruments, but I’m using it for voice. I’m in the process of teaching myself to sing and PitchedTuner really helps me to find notes and practice holding them without dropping out of key. Comes with a metronome which is helpful as well.

Great for 12 string!

PitchedTuner is perfect for tuning a 12 string guitar. Because it easily allows you to find tones and octave apart and can continually give you the note until you find it just right, it is really helpful when “something just doesn’t sound right” but you can’t seem to figure out which string is wrong. Recommended…

Best out there in my opinion

Not much to dislike about PitchedTuner, and I do set up some setting up guitars for people all the time and I'm a freak about intonation. So I'm a professional at this. The one thing that irks me as I don't need to see the message to tuneup with an! Or tune down. Yes I know what I'm doing and that kind of thing annoys me that little message popping up. Of course I know if I need to tune or tune down.!!! Otherwise PitchedTuner is amazing.

accurate sounds

This is the best app I found. I like tuning to a sound, and PitchedTuner plays accurate sounds in octaves 1-6 with a few instrument options. The piano option sounds exactly like my digital piano. The guitar option works well for my harp. PitchedTuner has no problem connecting to my bluetooth speaker. The chromatic tuner option seems accurate too.

BEST APP EVER!!!

For a beginner , I just got a ukulele and kept on downloading apps that said it was free. The downside was that they were hiding the subscriptions. I came across pitched-Tuner and it was the best thing ever. You can tune anything with this , it’s accurate and everything is free. I would totally recommend this . So download and happy playing!😁

Features

Pitched Tuner has built in tunings for many common instruments including banjo, bass 4, 5 and 6 string, cello, double bass, guitar including 7 string, ukulele, viola and violin.

This tuning app also works as a pitch pipe and can sound a reference note to tune your instrument by ear (which is always a good skill to practice), or use as a target note when you are re-stringing your guitar/violin/etc.

Hands free tuning means you can tune all of your strings without ever having to touch the screen - you don't want to have to reach for your ukulele tuner in between tuning each string, and now you don't have to.

The instrument tuner shows you the target notes for the instrument and tuning that you have selected - this is particularly useful for stringed instruments.

Pitched Tuner and Pitch Pipe has been designed by musicians to help you quickly and easily tune your instrument using the microphone on your device.
