In the month Iā€™ve had this game, I have played all of the available daily challenges (which go back to April 2019). Iā€™ve fully completed the three events that have been active. These events provide consistent fresh puzzles. The two problems I have with Nonogramcom are the occasional mistakenly pressed box, which occurs often of the right side of my screen. It will place a box where I did not click. This has only happened about 5 times in the entire time Iā€™ve been playing, but i see other people have commented on it so I figure Iā€™d mention it too. The other problem is the lack of difficulty in the ā€œnew game- hard difficultyā€ games. While they are 15x15, they often require minimal logic, which is different from the puzzles in the dailies and events.

The only two suggestions I have are to perhaps add the ability to zoom in on one part of the board, perhaps a quadrant at a time, to ease the difficulty of accurately placing boxes. The other I have is to increase the reward for completing events. Currently, you get a picture trophy which does nothing. My solution to this, and another suggestion that Iā€™d like to see implemented either way, is to unlock ā€œthemesā€ for the board. This would allow a change of sight from the normal black and white, and can add the option of something as simple as different colors or as complicated as fitting the theme of the event.

Overall, this is a phenomenal app in an environment of decreasingly quality apps.

Very Fun! (One Thing)

I wake up every morning to play this game for the new daily level! I love doing daily levels and getting trophies, and seeing everything I did, and every puzzle I completed. But the worst problem I have is that I canā€™t see the puzzles I completed when the event is over! I feel like I had fun doing that, but itā€™s all gone to waste and canā€™t see it anymore, so better off doing normal levels and seeing them in my collection! The only good thing you get out of completing the events is if you get the whole thing done, you get a badge. And thatā€™s it. I donā€™t want to have to go through beating all these levels to never see my pictures again. But besides that, I rate it 5 stars because it is a perfect logic puzzle that isnā€™t too hard or easy. The tutorial was rough at the start, but I got the hang of it and learned new techniques to help me beat levels. If youā€™ve made a lot of progress on a big level, and you donā€™t want it to go to waste, you can always just watch an ad to get another life. It can be quite annoying to lose a life by pressing the wrong box, especially on hard mode where theyā€™re so tiny, and on an iPod touch, it is a GAME WRECKER because of it being monsterously small, but I donā€™t encounter that that often, and the developer support is just perfect for this. Itā€™s amazing to see a brand new daily level and get excited to get that trophy at the end. This game is really awesome! šŸ‘

Great Execution for a Simple Puzzle Game

This game caught my attention a few months back, and since then I have been playing happily pretty much every day! The general concept of the game is straightforward and easy to pick up, and the wide diversity of levels and regular events give the game a fun and challenging twist. I also love how the design of the game caters to a quick, on-the-go playstyle, while also being just as enjoyable in a more hunkered-down setting where I can easily play for long stretches of time without feeling bored. For those looking to find a fun puzzle game to waste some time, Nonogramcom is definitely of the best in my eyes.

However, I would definitely strongly suggest a small patch or update to include a dark-mode/night-mode for Nonogramcom , that can be toggled in the game's settings. Oftentimes I can find myself playing this game at night or in bed before I go to sleep, and the apps default bright color theme gets to be a bit harsh on my eyes. If there was an option to toggle between light and dark mode, my eyes would be a lot happier while the game could still keep its classic Nonogram feel.

Thanks for reading, and hopefully someone finds this review helpful!

Great Time Waster

Nonogramcom is continually updated and has so much content, itā€™s hard to say itā€™s not well worth downloading if you enjoy nonograms. But, there are two main drawbacks to the game:
1) Fat fingering. This is a constant problem if you play the standard mode. Iā€™ve never tried Classic mode, but at least you can swap between the two. This will prevent you from getting blasted with even more ads if you fat finger your way out of lives (and there are already sooo many ads).
2) Graying out numbers too soon. Iā€™ve noticed it actually takes me longer to solve some puzzles because youā€™ll be working on a column/row and the game will gray out edge values before theyā€™re sealed off with an X. For example, consider a 5x5 grid, your row is 1 1 1. You know the row is gonna look like 1X1X1. When you put down 1X1, the game will gray out the second one in the row hint before you put the X next to it, which makes you have to backtrack and recount where you actually are in the row. The example doesnā€™t really help highlight the problem because itā€™s too simple, but for large 20x20 grids (where youā€™re prone to fat finger like mad), there can end up being quite a bit of backtracking. Nintendoā€™s Picross would only gray numbers that were ā€œsealedā€ by an X, if you will, so I wish that method of updating the hints was adopted by this game too.

Otherwise, neither is worth damaging Nonogramcom , just some feedback! Keep up the great work!

Fix a change that was made?

Hello, this oneā€™s for the devs. This game is wonderful, itā€™s very calming and helps put my significant other to sleep each night, when she usually has trouble doing so. But a recent change was made to the game, where if you finished a row/column, it doesnā€™t automatically ā€œxā€ the rest of the spots anymore. It was a big part of what made the game so nice, even if itā€™s a small difference. Would you please put it back? Itā€™d mean a lot, we really miss that ease of life mechanic. It was relaxing, and helps her sleep. Thank you, we hope to see that mechanic back in the game soon :) thank you for making a calming game for before bedtime.

Edit: I realize the mechanic I was talking about was called the ā€œauto crosses feature.ā€ I am aware that it was under testing, and that you made the decision to remove it, but if you could make it an optional setting, thatā€™d be incredibly wonderful. Even if it is buggy, weā€™d understand, weā€™d just like it back.

Edit#2: I put in several requests on all of the available platforms that Iā€™ve found asking the developers and team involved with this game to add what Iā€™ve mentioned above about 4 months ago and Iā€™ve received pretty generic responses that felt like automated messages, and no update adding the feature. Please add the feature, I feel itā€™s not such a difficult thing to do, especially with the amount of time itā€™s been.

Nonogram frustration

Almost two years ago I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and underwent brain surgery. Subsequent complications from the first surgery resulted in a second surgery and a long recovery. The nonogram "game" is much like others that I have played in order to help stimulate my brain throughout my recovery. Because of this brain stimulation, I try not to use the word "game." To me this implies that I am "playing" when in fact I am using nonogram as an "exercise" to aid my recovery. However, instead of experiencing brain restoration, nonogram is brain torment! This is because of poor "game" design. The squares on the grid are so small that frequent mistakes are unintentionally made -- not because the wrong boxes are chosen, but instead because an average adult's fingers are often too large to make the intended selections. Also, as the nonogram is currently designed, one cannot make changes as filling the grid progresses, and the first selection that one makes is "locked" into place. This makes completing the grids so frustrating that I feel more relieved by not completing any nonogram grid in the first place. I'll find a much more user friendly app and use it instead.

I absolutely love this game! At first it was boring and I hated the hard levels because I didnā€™t understand how to do it. But finally I am able to do the hard levels almost like they are the easiest levels. I also love the challenge of the free style where you donā€™t loose hearts. Ads arenā€™t bad and they come at the best places. I am actually addicted to this game and it is a nice problem. It also helps me concentrate and practice focusing on one task at a time. Nonogramcom not only is fun but also has kind of helped me in school to focus and think before doing. I use this game as a brain brake and love it. I totally recommend this game to any one who likes a bit of a challenge. I also like the challenges that pop up every now and then and I am so excited to start the next challenge tomorrow. Also I really like how in his version, per round you get 3 hints and it keeps replenishing after you loose or start another round because it doesnā€™t make me feel stressed that I only have 3 hints forever and have to keep watching 3 hour ads in order to get just one ad. So in conclusion this is my favorite game and my go to game.

My new favorite mobile game

I briefly found out about this kind of game from a small brain teaser type book and I decided to look up a app to keep playing. This game has been a lot of fun and I find on the harder levels Iā€™ll make progress in short bursts while if I have 5 min of free time.

Feedback: this game really needs a zoom feature. Hard is really the limit for an iPhone XR. Expert can be a little tricky because I find myself misclicking 50% of the time. Maybe a toggle button that allows for planning and zoom. In the future I want a smaller phone so at that point I think I wouldnā€™t be able to click anywhere I want at all.
Also I got 100 levels in and I never saw the expert levels. After about 50 levels I wanted mostly hard levels. I had to look up where to look for the setting to manually select the expert levels.
I also think it would be nice if you could pick what kind of pictures you solve. Like ā€œworldā€ or ā€œanimalsā€

Would be even better with improvements

Great game overall, and itā€™s extremely addicting. My biggest issue I have is that it really takes a toll on my battery and Nonogramcom by far consumes the most energy out of any app on my phone. I really hope in the next update that Nonogramcom is better optimized to consume less energy.
Additional feedback I have is that, given that there are no levels to progress in, I wish that I could get a new board on the same difficulty if I donā€™t like the board that is generated. Currently if I am in the middle of a game on Hard, for example, and I click new game, it gives the same board as I currently was playing, just cleared. Thereā€™s no way to go to the ā€œnextā€ board.
Lastly, I wish I could see the final product after I won a game in black and white a little longer before it colorizes so I can ā€œguessā€ what I just made/see the full picture. Other options that might be cool are to be able to toggle the color image on/off by holding down/releasing the screen to go back and forth between the black and white and color completed puzzle. Additionally it might be cool to have a gallery/collection of all my completed puzzles that you can access from the main menu to see all the different pictures youā€™ve made.

Thanks for a great game!

Review gone? App bad anyways

I came to update my review for a second time but apparently it is gone? Guess they can remove reviews they donā€™t like. So, why do I rate low? Well, one star lost for removing my review.
Another star lost because of the poor response they gave to my original review where I wanted them to make a way to play better. Tired of pushing one block and ending up hitting another. Forcing a life lost and eventually having to watch ads. Their response? To play the other game mode. They lost stars for the way it plays. I love Nonogramcom minus the fact that issue happens. So, I tried the other mode. I guess itā€™s okay minus the yet still clicking the wrong box over and over again. Just no lost lives or forced ads since youā€™re not told youā€™re wrong.

My solution? I found another app just before this recent update of theirs hit. They didnā€™t fix my issue so it lest even another star. Now itā€™s down to one. It would have zero if I could do that. The other app? Two Eyes. It has a directional pad so you can navigate with it instead. Voila! Never a misclick. And with this update on Nonogramcom? The toggle of filling in the boxes or putting Xs... it was a feature already they just broke it and claim it is new. It was there when I started playing and got use to it so much that I wondered where it went. Wondered why the toggle was never switching anymore causing more errors that were not my fault.

Great game, but needs some improvement

Update: I paid for the game so that I donā€™t have to wait for more lives, but recently there have been changes, and now there are long ads to get more lives. There are also super long ads between games. This is absolutely unacceptable. I paid for unlimited lives, without adds. I guess this is it for me with this game. Itā€™s a shame, because I enjoyed it.

I love the game concept, and it can be a bit addictive. I like the design of Nonogramcom, itā€™s clean and easy to use. What frustrates me terribly is that you canā€™t choose to start an entirely new game. If I lose a life, I prefer to restart a new game, it just doesnā€™t feel challenging enough if I continue after making a mistake. In Nonogramcom though, if you click to start a new game, it gives you the same game that you didnā€™t finish. If I already know the answers to a good bit of it, whatā€™s the fun in that? Itā€™s just a boring waste of time to repeat a game. Iā€™d also love it if there was an option for a timer. I love speed challenges and knowing how long it took me to complete a puzzle would be great. Of course, harder puzzles would be a nice bonus as well. I really hope the developers upgrade Nonogramcom a bit, because I really do enjoy it.

unremovable/exitable ads shouldnā€™t be epilepsy triggers

i really enjoy the game[EDIT: ! itā€™s like a logic puzzle but with numbers instead of clues. i donā€™t care as much about the little pictures they turn into but they can be cool little prompts to look up, like historical figures for example. i also like that you can keep getting new puzzles while on airplane mode/with no service as well! i like the little challenges that turn into bigger pictures, too. :)]
[EDIT: some] banner ads will show up at the bottom while youā€™re playing. unfortunately, this ads are gifs and often rapidly moving gifs. i have to stop and relaunch the game several times to get around it because it triggers migraine headaches for me. i imagine it could cause seizures for other users. either these type of ads should be removed entirely, or there should be a setting to filter out flashing/looping ads that can trigger seizures and/or other neurological problems.
[EDIT: i appreciate that i can send screenshots of flashing ads in the ā€˜Helpā€™ page by settings and those ads get blocked moving forward. Hope this helps someone else too :)]

also why is there no dark mode

Nonogram Review

I am in love with this game. i have never found a game that iā€™ve played for this long and havenā€™t gotten tired of. With that being said i am scared soon i will get tired of it because it is just the same thing over and over and never getting harder. with this game not having levels i understand however i wish that the more you play in hard levels it would get harder. or create another bored bigger than a 15x15 to make the game more challenging.

another thing about this game that is a concern is the fact that it DRAINS my battery. this is the one thing that i absolutely hate (lol but i do still end up playing). But i play this when i am bored or waiting on something and start with 100% battery and by the time i play a few games i have less than half of that. Iā€™m not sure what part of the game drains it so bad because id really like for this to get fixed so i can play for a longer time.

this game is truly SO much fun and continue to play besides these things i mentioned about. i really am looking forward to the improvements yā€™all place into the game to make it more interesting and creative. congratulations on making such an addictive and fun game!

Love the puzzles, don't love the app

I would rate the puzzles 5 stars because they're so enjoyable to solve, even though some in the hard difficulty level should be in the medium level. An expert level would be great. The lack of app features is what I don't love. It doesn't track your progress so you can't check how many puzzles you've solved or have left to solve. It doesn't allow you to skip or save an unfinished puzzle and switch to a different one in the same difficulty level. If you choose new game it restarts the same puzzle. If you switch difficulty levels you lose your progress. You can only switch to a daily challenge to keep your progress, but when you return to the same difficulty level you have to solve the same puzzle before moving on. It would be nice to have the option to time yourself, and to be able to earn points or something, while keeping the option of a relaxation mode with no time or earnings. I'm also having the same issues others are having with overheating and excessive battery drain. I'm giving it 4 stars because I do love the puzzles and solving them is addictive.

excellent game, awful ads.

I came to the review section to see if paying a whopping $5 would get rid of the insane amount of ads I end up having to watch after 3 misclicks, and my question has not yet been answered. But it seems everyone has the same gripe that I do, and the developerā€™s only response is that you can skip the ads after 5 seconds on the ads between levels. But thatā€™s not the issue! Itā€™s the ads weā€™re forced into watching every time we misclick or make a mistake and have to gain another life! I donā€™t mind sitting through an ad or two between levels but Iā€™ve probably paid someoneā€™s entire salary with the amount of ads Iā€™ve had to watch to gain another life mid-level. And developer, please refrain from ā€œremindingā€ me about the other game mode, I know it exists. I prefer the mode Iā€™m in. Thereā€™s no excuse for the excessive and long ads, and itā€™s disheartening to see the same response on everyoneā€™s review.

Iā€™d hope the high price point would remove ads entirely, I saw a review that made it not seem to be the case though. Iā€™ll hold out for now and try to find another puzzle to pass my time.

Fabulous game, just automatically mute the adds and itā€™s perfect!

This is an absolutely fantastic game. Great logic puzzles of varying difficulty. You can play challenges (which actually reward you with hints) or stick to level by level play. The adds are generally short or can be skipped after 5 seconds. And if youā€™re really struggling on a level, there are unlimited ā€œget more livesā€ available by watching ads. My only complaint is that you have to manually mute the ads when they come on. Since I listen to music while playing, this gets a little irritating. Developers, if you can set it up so theyā€™re automatically muted (like you do in your version of Killer Sudoku) then this will be a 5 star and perfect game!

Update Jan ā€˜22 Still not auto-muted ads if you have music playing. Loving the new daily goals though! Itā€™s fun to work to a secret level. My one complaint with it, is ā€˜lives to spendā€™ and ā€˜hintsā€™ should not be goals. If I have to use a hint, or use a life while solving the puzzle, Iā€™ve made a mistakeā€¦not achieved a goal.

I want to give this 5 stars but...

Iā€™ve only started playing nonograms recently. Before this Iā€™ve only played the sudoku and I love the events. After finding out that your nonograms also have the same events, it got me hooked! I was a bit disappointed though. Unlike the other nonogram I played, this one doesnt highlight the row/column youā€™re tapping on and it makes it a bit frustrating to see whether youā€™re tapping on the correct box. Also, I donā€™t like that tapping an X on the wrong box will make you lose lives and that if you completed the row the Xā€™s donā€™t automatically appear. These are the only reasons Iā€™m giving 3 stars, otherwise I would definitely give this 5 stars. I really hope you can make these changes šŸ˜

Edit:
Iā€™ve become addicted to this game now. I look forward for the events and love watching the completed gifs. The new autocrosses feature is the best! And for that, Iā€™m changing my review from 3 to 5 stars!!! āļø āļøāļøāļøāļø

Crashes

I love every single thing about Nonogramcom. And I mean EVERYTHING. Itā€™s simple, and puzzles are fun to solve, nothing overwhelming and constantly popping up. Just a simple collection of nonograms to solve.
However. Nonogramcom drains my battery ridiculously fast, which never happens unless Iā€™m playing Nonogramcom. I can go from 90% to 10% in 20 minutes, whereas my battery typically will last me all day long with frequent use. And my phone gets HOT while playing. I could work around both of those issues, if it werenā€™t for Nonogramcom crashing. It was fine for a while after I downloaded it. But it hasnā€™t even been 24 hours since I downloaded and starting using it, and itā€™s so bad that Nonogramcom will crash after 30 seconds of having it open, and then will not power back up unless I leave it alone for a few hours.
I am really disappointed because I would easily rate this 5 stars and even buy the paid version. But Nonogramcom crashes so much I canā€™t even use it anymore after less than a day. Though if the issue is fixed I will absolutely be happy to change my rating and look into paying for Nonogramcom again!

Updated Review: Nasty design to trick you into watching ads

I gave this game a chance and at first was frustrated by the ā€œlivesā€ system and how accidentally tapping a fraction of a millimeter from from the intended target or meant. Also the numbers at the top and side that tell you important clues are very hard to see because of their color and lack of contrast. Whoops that was actually a 7 not a 1 giving you a clue. Whoops accidentally brushed your finger on the wrong area of the screen. Well thatā€™s two lives and good luck getting through a big puzzle without making another mistake. Then you can quit the game or watch an ad that often will freeze Nonogramcom and discard your progress

The designers have apparently realized itā€™s a universal thing that tapping precisely and seeing small things clearly on a phone is difficult and they found a way to make a lot of ad revenue money by punishing their usersā€™ ā€œmistakesā€ that are a result of design decisions.

Other puzzle games like this have ads and actually reward you for watching them. I donā€™t recommend this game unless you have a high tolerance for frustration or love watching ads and donā€™t care that fun for the player was not a priority in its design

Best Game! Hereā€™s Why....

This game is great if you love brain puzzles. When I first got the game, I kept it at the free trial and the ads definitely had a prescience but it didnā€™t get to the point where I wanted to delete it because of them. Then, I noticed you could buy out of ads for $4.99. At first, I thought that was pretty high considering itā€™s usually $2.99, but then I realized that even when needing extra lives it prevented the ads from playing. In my opinion, that makes it worth it.

The game itself is simple and is either gonna be your favorite if you love puzzles like sudoku or just not your thing. With that said, I recommend starting with the daily challenges and working backwards rather than a random game as itā€™s usually working towards a picture and it varies between difficulty. Itā€™s a very easy way to get comfortable with the game.

This game is staying on my phone and the first to receive 5 stars from me!
