Fun strategy game that really makes you strategize

I’ve been on and off with S1914 for some time, though when I’m in an intense game, I tend to really get invested. The game is fun, especially when you can play with a variety of maps and countries all over the world. Each has their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to resources and location, and more often than not, good diplomacy with other players makes or breaks your country.

Pay to win is an issue here. While I’ve been lucky and not dealt with the issue frequently, there’s been many a time when a player magically summons factories, navies, and artillery on Day 8 (the day when the factory building is unlocked for development) and unleashes them on his/her neighbors who have to wait 2-3 days for theirs to build. I understand it’s an effective way to get money, but it can be a problem when it breaks games for the dozens of players who are really trying to develop and win strategically.

My only suggestion for the mobile app would be to allow players to toggle music and sound fx on and off. It does get annoying when I’m trying to listen to music and the second I click Supremacy1914 , music cuts to silence and Supremacy1914 ’s music takes over.

Great Game and Vision, No Ads or Paywalls

This game has tons of strategy and great gameplay. It's very well made and is a must-play. While the tutorial is quite tedious and the game mechanics take some getting-used-to, once you have a hang of it and some friends to play with, it's hard to not hop on 4 or 5 times a day.
There are no ads in gameplay which is always a huge positive for mobile games. While there are microtransactions, they don't do much and you can get most of the features locked behind that paywall just by watching daily ads.
The balance in gameplay is also incredibly well crafted. The way the morale of your units and provinces work together to aid or destroy you in warfare and the action you have to take to preserve resources makes every decision feel important, which makes the slow, strategic gameplay all the more intense.

Good game but serious balancing issues

I love the game! It’s genuinely a good game and you don’t have to pay to win at all, if you want the VIP benefits you just have to watch some ads which is a little annoying but definitely beats paying for it. It’s a good strategy and resource management game. But I’m only giving it three stars because it has some serious balancing issues. I had four armored car brigades and twenty-six infantry brigades attack a level two fortress with only five infantry brigades garrison it and my army struggled so much to break through despite my overwhelming advantage in fire and man power. I’ve had to grind my teeth out trying to take over provinces with just level one or two fortresses. I would understand if it was a level four or five fortress but level two? It’s a bit ridiculous and begs the question of why even waste resources on armored cars? They don’t seem to do much other than to look nice and scary. It’s still a good game! But balance changes are desperately needed.

Great mobile game

Call of war and supremacy 1914 are great, but I would have to say that supremacy 1914 is a little more difficult in game play, which I mean resources, many countries have different amount of resources like Germany with more coal then Britain, but with this in mind using Germany as an example, you have limited resources on everything but coal which can create unbalance issues, without iron and wood you can build structures, which means you can’t build better troops, but to overcome this you have to either take out a major country such as France or take out minor country such as Denmark, when you take the land you loose troops which in return can cause other countries attack you afterwards, but that’s my only complaint keep up the good work developers!

Another pay to win scam

This is another pay to win garbage game. There is no possible way to keep your economy healthy, especially after you initially expand and each province you capture requires so many more resources. At that point you have to capture more provinces to offset the cost of the the ones you captured before, and the cycle continues. But then your troops will lose morale because you never have enough resources (grain especially) so they become weak and ineffective. In one game I built up an army of 162 troops without spending real money, and then somehow they were all killed trying to capture a single province! Then for some reason it doesn’t tell you how many enemies there are, even when you have started fighting them?? What is the logic behind this? On top of that, the wait times are ridiculous. All of this is set up so that you spend money to speed things up or to improve your troops health or to buy resources. If you want to dump real money into it, you can win. If not, don’t even bother.

Good game.. but one small thing to say…

I should say “the game is excellent and you should for sure get it. Great Warfare game.” But.. I don’t like how.. not in this mainly, but in call of war how only a few provinces (land inside a country) have 1 guy in them. I wish, not that this will have any notice or something, but I wish for it to be set to specific amounts of soldats in each province. I also want to say that I would like to see if you could make a sandbox mode, like a single player mode where you can set in as many troops as you want and do anything you want in all the provinces. You know? Just something I thought I might request.. still, a pretty great game overall! Call of war is by these same people! Go check it out! Pretty good game.

Hands down best war strategy game

I have tried many different games looking for best one and this game hits all the marks for me. Playing as your favorite country and trying to outwit your opponents on a global scale makes it fun and challenging. The game is realistic, looks amazing, and the geography is historically accurate. A very simply interface for managing economy and provinces makes it user friendly. And if you have any questions the community is always helping out. This game is not pay to win! Yes spending on gold reduces build times among other things. But in the long term it’s not significant unless you’re willing to spend hundreds. I’ve encountered very few “Wallet warriors” in this game which is refreshing.

I love this game, but it’s plagued by pay to win

I love this game. I’ve been obsessed with it since I started playing at the beginning of the year. But once you start playing with some more veteran players it just becomes who can out pay the other. No other strategy involved. I just left a game I was doing really well in cause some guy was spending HUNDREDS of dollars to win. It’s so disgusting. I understand bytro has to make their money some how but this is a disgrace to any strategy game when you don’t need skill. All you need is money to over power and overwhelm opponents. It also doesn’t help when people in that same game are saying the people who spend large amounts of money work for bytro in an attempt to get more people to pay to win. Bytro has to make a change or who will ever want to play this game. Pay to win is toxic. No game developer should resort to something so low to make money.

TIME

Ok, where do I begin, you should make a gamesome where things happen more quickly instead of IRL time, for the more competitive players, second, kinda pay to win, you gotta use gold in order to do anything really fast, say, making a barracks for cavalry, takes a ful day to make, and cavalry takes more time, sure morale has some good influence on how fast it does happen, but, you gotta spend gold in order to increase it. Second, days, why do I have to wait in order to build a railroad? It’s not like it hasn’t been around for the past 100 years. The game truly is very good and well, but, things have to be able to happen faster.

Money grab

Got to admit, this is a great game. However no matter how good you or your coalition is doing, if you run into someone who’s pouring money into the game then it’s game over no matter what. I’m in a coalition with 5 people located in the Middle East. Beginning of the game We all get ready to take over a specific country, NO LIE or exaggeration. The country we was attacking was right next to us… Out of nowhere a South American country comes and saves the day. He had a railroad gun, more than 10 bombers/planes 6 artillery and 3 tanks… game just started n your located on the other side of the map..It’s no way you produce and move all them units in a certain period of time to defend the coalition he’s in.. the pay to win is a very big advantage in this game. It literally effects if you can win or not lol. Was fun but not for me

By

It’s really great… but.

I’m just going to make this short, I seriously hate the fact that you can’t delete the messages/messenger’s from the your chat, some of them are completely out of the game yet I still have to scroll through all of them plus, I don’t know if there’s a limit to many people you can message, but if there is then you won’t be able to talk to a new collation group/leader after you killed your previous collation with 5 members, thats all I had to say, and if your response is “thank you for your response, we are trying to make this game more enjoyable for you and other players” like all the other responses from other creatures, I’ll know you just don’t care for what I have to say.

Hearts of Iron Mobile

I am thoroughly impressed with the work that had been put into Supremacy 1914. I have been looking for a good mobile strategy game for some time (preferably something like Hearts of Iron 4), and I found exactly what I was looking for with this game.
This game is simple enough to work with a cellular interface, but complex enough to offer hours of strategical entertainment.
I was particularly impressed by the community in this game as well. There is so much diplomacy, intrigue, backstabbing, and all of it takes place in pompous state declarations that anyone can write in he global newspaper.

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with Supremacy 1914. I think with the continued improvement offered by the developer this will become a fantastic game.

WOULD GIVE 6 STARS IF I COULD

Let me start off by saying that this game is absolutely amazing. I’ve been looking for Free RTS Grand Strategy War games for iOS for a while now, and this is the cream of the crop. I would definitely recommend anyone with a little spare time to try this out. I mean it’s free.
There is, however, only 2 things I would recommend:
1- MORE. RESOURCES. PLEASE. I often find myself not being able to build Barracks even with the land of Yugoslavia because I’m lacking in grain. It’s a pretty simple fix, with more resources being added or more types of resources added to each province. It’s probably more historically accurate, resource wise, but it would be great if you could add some more :D
2- Sometimes when I’m sending troops from my homeland generated by the Barracks or Recruiting Offices to defend my buddies, and it’s kind of annoying to send them individually. The only other thing I would ask of this game is to have a select option where you can select all of the units in a player-selected area. Pretty please and thank you :)

Summary: Game’s amazing, try it out. Developers, add just 2 things. Have a nice day!

Great concept, needs some improvements

I would like to see armies and battalions gain experience so that after they’ve seen action they become more experienced and better on the battlefield. Would also like it if the player could customize small things about their faction, like uniform types.

I love the concept, and it makes you think twice before you send your army at an enemy because it takes so long for that army to arrive and be replaced. It could take days before you could replace a large army of 40 battalions, so you don’t want to throw them away.

Again would like to see experience lvls so that an experienced army performed better as it fought. Otherwise it’s a great game.

Pay-To-Win

So I play for the first time and there’s no tutorial... that’s fine I join a game, then I get hit with a “do you have enough gold?” Which wants me to buy gold from the store, I ignore that and move on. I start to understand the game quickly, the game isn’t hard to understand, and when I try buy armored cars it says “Reversed for high ranking members only” and it like “oh that’s okay, that probably means I need to be a higher level while playing” but no it means I have to pay like $5

AND IM LIKE “OKAY!” So I ignore that and I try to buy cavalry and it said the same thing and now I just uninstalled

Edit: okay the developer response actually made sense, your right... the game’s a little more easier now, I’ll give it 4 stars

Amazing game, download 100%!

Just an absolute behemoth of a game, and I have not even had the game for long! It runs quite well, I would personally like to see a few minor changes.
-Unit customization: All the factions have the same uniform, I hope that soon all factions will get their own individual accurate uniforms.
- Better tutorial, game tells you a little bit and throws you in. It’s still fine, but I would like that.
-Please don’t get mad for not knowing this. It appears to me that only 3 countries can fit in a faction slot. If this is correct please boost that to 5 or so. If that is incorrect I will delete this part.
-Unit experience: I feel like it is odd that fresh soldiers are just as good as battle hardened veterans, so please add where if the more engaged in combat, the stronger a unit is. Don’t make it too strong, just a little nudge please.

If someone is debating whether or not to get it, do so! I love the multiplayer functions, and though it does take a while to do stuff, it’s fine because thats what sets it apart from other games! I love this game so much, thank you for creating it!

Great Game No Problems

I stumbled across this game about two years ago, and have been waiting for its mobile counterpart to release almost as long. After playing a couple rounds I find it really even more enjoyable a game then the original as it confronts my main problem with the computer version, and that was the fact I would constantly find myself forgetting about the game for rays on need due to inaccessibility on my day to day basis. Now thanks to the mobile addition, I am able to check on my progress at anytime anywhere, without the need to be near my computer or laptop.

Great game by my standards, love the constant events, and the great community, gotta give it Five Stars.

PLAY NOW

i usually hate mobile games but this one is different, by far the most ACTUAL strategic game out there unlike those games that claim to be but are you just doing the same mediocre task every time. This is a great game for history and war nerds (although I highly suggest that everyone should play it). You just don’t know how it feels to take down Italy and then laugh in their face. It’s not easy either, your going up against real people, you can make alliances and betray others.

This is my favorite mobile game by a landslide. It even beats the 2000’s angry birds game where your basically playing a better version of Mario cart

By

The only game that I play

This game is the perfect mobile game. It doesn’t rely on the in app purchase system to make the game enjoyable. It’s an option but doesn’t pressure you to purchase bc they offer daily ad watching options for very good rewards. With this they give you plenty of options to play for free and thrive. Another important aspect of this game is the developers, they really care about this game. They constantly are improving and updating. If there is a glitch they fix it within a day or two. Ever since my friend started me on this game 8 months ago, I haven’t played any other game.

Uhh… fun, I guess?

It is a unique idea and. I love the idea of fighting, territory, spawning, alliances, heck, even spies! 5/5 on that! But the gameplay, is, ok. It takes too much time and kinda pay-to-win like. I’m not even referring to the speed, which is a problem, I’m taking about how the resources are hard to obtain, no matter where you spawn. Now onto the loading. OH GOD the loading. I haven't even played for a hour and had to go afk to eat lunch. About 1-2 hours later, i cant log in. My territory is being claimed and my troops are just dying. I’m trying to not be angry but i cant load in or move. I’m just stuck. PLEASE. FIX. THIS. I’m about to have to un download the game and redo load it, and watch all the ads, and probably have the same bug. But, please. Fix it as soon as possible. This makes it unplayable.

I had fun the first map.

I loved the first game. I have done nothing really different in my first game play to my latter matches . However in all subsequent plays I lost. Not to other players, just to the game. I will have 30 territories with hundreds of troops and then I will lose a few with all my troops in them do to revelation. And a then few more and a few more. Now your down to 5 territories and just 20 troops. No reason my why your moral goes down. Just keep going down. BUT if you would like to spend in-game currency, you can buy back the moral loss. And keep your territory’s and units. However if you do not wish to spend REAL MOMEY to fix the issue you just keep losing and losing and losing with no explanation. I have also played maps were people start out with cannons. This is days before they will become available to you. Not sure how as I have never started with one. Again no explanation why he gets to start with a cannon and just auto win over you. My guess is it’s money related. Nothing like paying to beat AI. And their maths make no sense. I have 60 units you have 20. You have 0 defensive bonuses. Our heaths are comparable per unit. I attack you, you lose 6 units. You attack back I lose 5? 60 units x 4.5 attack per unit = 270. yet some how of the 220 hp you have you still have 178. Ended up losing 9 to their 20.

Game is good but annoying

Everything about the game is great and fun, but what I cannot wrap my head around is what constitutes a resource shortage. I will have hundreds of thousands of energy resources, but let’s say one of them I am losing more than I am making, regardless of how much I have in stock, it results in an energy shortage, penalizing every single province of mine’s morale development by an average of -30 points. Same goes for food resources. A shortage of energy or food should only happen when you have completely drained your stocks of either resource. But if I have ample amounts, I should not receive a penalty for a shortage that doesn’t exist. It makes late-game expansion extremely hard and frustrating because I cannot advance to take new territory without the territories I have captured revolting to random NPCs due to “shortages” of resources that I have in sufficient stock. Also, there should not be a penalty for expanding. The game literally states that the only way to win is to conquer those around you and expand. Why are players punished then for doing that? The game is fun but all these little things are starting to sap the fun out of it.

Fantastic!

This game is great, I absolutely love the strategy; the complexity of it. Being able to join coalitions almost immediately after joining a server is great. The mechanics of the game aren’t that complicated, neither are the attacking mechanics. Other people that play this game DO understand the logistics of it. They will offer trades, partnership, troops, support in wars, resources. A lot of players are friendly and the premium players are represented by gold stars in chats and are really helpful and respectful. My only problem is how long it takes to make some troops or I wish we could have the ability to watch ads to take 2 hours off a 2 day timer. A lot can happen in those 2 days. This game is great and I highly recommend it.

Waste of time and unfair

Terrible game and I even spent money on this crap. This game isn’t fair that’s the problem. For example California. California can expand much faster with the resources they have and much quicker than the east coast. Not to mention more countries on the east and less in the west so more competition in the east more enemies to conqueror much less land. Disproportionates are everywhere even the AI has an advantage at first then after a while they are useless. Also if player from California expands too quickly which they always there’s nothing stopping them .there has to be more emphasis on defense also artillery is way too powerful in this game and the planes and boats barely do any damage. Lastly it takes way too long to build and produce troops especially when you have guys from California disproportionately having such steep advantage. You need to get this fixed. I will not play this game until it is fixed. Don’t waste your time

Used to be 5 stars…

This is my favorite game of all time, by far. However, it seems BITRO wants to ruin it. Me and 4 of my friends are considering deleting Supremacy1914 . I was at one point a paying member. The first game I played I was a country with 10 provinces and 10 troops in them each. I also had a cannon. It’s was my first game and I was learning to play and after almost losing multiple times, I ended in 2nd place. That, is simply not the case anymore. Suddenly after months of playing, Newbies are receiving 200 troops and a cannon. Being outnumbers 2 to 1 and fighting ranged units that aren’t even accessible until Day 12 is not just frustrating. Even on the occasion I do beat one newbie, I am so weak I am then taken over by another. There is no way to overcome this. Please fix this and go back to starting everyone even. If not, I know for certain there are other games that would like our business.

Ads are ridiculous

I don’t think I’ve ever rated an app one star or deleted one out of anger but this takes the cake. The game itself is a fun game. however the ads are actually infuriating, coming from someone who doesn’t usually care about ads. When you finish a round it gives you an option to watch ads for extra rewards or continue, however if you click continue you are forced to watch an ad anyway. So either way you’re watching an ad after your round. Secondly, in the MIDDLE of playing your round, it asks you if you would like to upgrade your units by watching an ad, it says ok, but no option to decline. And clicking everywhere else on the screen automatically chooses okay, meaning you HAVE to watch an ad yet again. The ads are infuriating, don’t bother wasting your time where you’re watching more ads than playing the game.

Kidnap ur money

this game doesn't work, other players got upset with our coalition because of the success we have, we're not even hackers, my ally invested $40 dollars to spend in his region and support the coalition and currently a group of players I've read that have complained about my ally and in the middle of the conflict they have blocked and removed my ally from the game, now my other game partner and I must stop the war we are leading because I literally read in the chat people talking and complaining about my partner because he was taking a lot of territory, But come here I don't understand, what is the game supposed to be about, and if the game administrators program the game and automatically other coalitions get together and report you, they will take you out of the game regardless of whether you have invested money and then your period waiting to report a problem is like nonexistent, first time I find a strategy game after halo war that I like so much but other players have made me angry with what they did to my partner and also now I want to let people know what can happen if you are very smart and you want to spend your money, throw it away in a game, you are welcome here. It's good that I didn't invest the money I was planning to make because the same thing would have happened to me, although I'm also bugged

A Strategical Masterpiece

Supremacy 1914 is a strategical masterpiece. It has everything from political drama, intense resource management, city management, a strategic battle system, and a huge map.

In this game it is very important to be active in politics. You have to get ally’s, make trade agreements, and share map information to get far in the game. Betrayal is also a great way to succeed. You also have to carefully manage your resources or your provinces will rebel due to lack of food. You can specialize cities with different buildings to create armies, get certain resources faster, or grow morale for your troops and cities. For the war system, it also requires loads of strategy. To be successful you have to coordinate your armies, and also use different troops rather than just infantry. You must navigate on roads to get places, and the travel times are long and realistic. The map for this game is huge, and games can last many weeks, and even sometimes many months!

The game also has a decent amount of roleplay. You can message world leaders for communication. You can also publish newspapers to share news to the world that all can see in the game. The game also updates the news feed with neat little messages for important things like wars, revolutions, and building certain buildings.

Overall the game is fantastic, definitely a 5/5 star game. Good work.

My ode to supremacy 1914

Fun but Support doesn’t care

The game is very pay to win but besides that it is fun to play. I would give it 4 stars except for the fact that the support doesn’t care at all. I’ve been in two games already where players are breaking rules and cheating (which I double checked with the game rules from the Bytro Support bot and confirmed they were violating the rules), yet Support doesn’t really care. The only way to report now is through email apparently, and I sent an email a week ago and no response, and the players are still in my game, breaking the rules. I would hate to think that support doesn’t care about rule-breakers because they’re only in it for the money. Update: Still no response from Support. At this point it is safe to assume that Bytro doesn’t care about exploiters and toxicity. They have game rules but it’s all to make it look like they’re actively taking care of the game. They know that by allowing cheaters to roam free they will get more money

Don’t listen to these people

This game is a strategic masterpiece that I have not spent a dime on but still had a blast. Obviously the game is add free which is nice and once you kinda get to know the game it is very fun. All of the negative comments I see is a problem with the player (skill issue) for example one 1 star review was about provinces revolting. Just put 3 troops per province and it’s not an issue. Another was about gold mark spenders, while it is annoying when you do come across one in my 40+ games I have only encountered one heavy gold mark spender. Plus the games gotta make money somehow to make up for the very convenient no involuntary adds. My tips: get to know the game and what modes/ countries you like to play.

By

Too easily bought

The outsize influence of Goldmark ruins an otherwise great game in Supremacy 1914. Goldmark is the premium currency you can only get by watching ads, taking quizzes/surveys, buying/subscribing to products, or outright just buying it with your money outside the game. There are big spenders that make it nearly impossible to succeed unless you are spending ordinate amounts of money to get this goldmark and funnel it into your production in the game. The alternative is to spend inordinate amounts of time taking surveys, which is highly ineffective because the survey companies often say you’re not a good match for the survey and don’t give you the goldmark you have earned even after up to half an hour taking the survey.

Who can feel good about winning this way? It doesn’t feel good to lose because you refuse to g along with this greedy scheme either. Unless they get rid of goldmark, I cannot recommend this game.

Update ruined this game

This used to be one of my favorite games but the update for an expansion morale penalty has completely ruined it. Especially on smaller maps it makes games drag on unnecessarily long. Games will be clearly over due to one country being massive but morale penalties make it take painfully long to get 1000 points. Even with fully maxed out buildings I am still losing morale because I have -45 from expansion. This is clearly broken because it is impossible to sustain an economy when every province is getting hit by -45 morale on top of distance and enemy penalties. There needs to be a penalty cap of 20-25 like there was before. I will not be playing this game until this is fixed.

My favorite App Store game!

I saw reviews complaining about speed, mechanics and “oh it’s hard to understand” or my favorite one “you have to log on or you’ll get attacked” like don’t play it if you can’t handle the game. This is seriously one of the funnest games I’ve ever played. If you have the consistency to be able to play real time games and you can grasp how things work (which is honestly simple) it’s seriously fun! :D and honestly from what the reviews I’ve seen said, people are just mad that they lost their games. But that’s the name of the game! You have to take risks and stay engaged. Great job guys! Seriously awesome game! It does however sometimes get overwhelmed and some bugs show up if there’s enough players (which is why I stick to smaller games like the broken America map or ones with only like 10 players.) so maybe work on the engine so it can run a bit smoother but those problems have been few and far between!

Terribly Designed

I’ve been playing this game for a few days now and it has been terrible. This game has so much potential and reminds me of one of my favorite games as a kid “rise of nations” but this game is terribly designed! The tutorial for the game is throwing you into an actual game with other new players with a few hints and no real explanations of how things work just a function called hints that poorly guide you and don’t really help you grasp the game. You must check the game frequently because if you are attacked you troops will NOT DEFEND THEMSELVES! This is probably one the worst part of the games because you can wake up in the morning and have lost everything! Also the speed mechanic for troop movement I has ton of bugs to it and it appears that the defense mechanic for damage output has a ton of bugs to it also (probably due to the fact that in order to defend you have to select your troop and have them attack. I think this game would be more enjoyable but their is so many issues and the game drags on!
